“They took such great care of our two mastiffs. We knew we were dropping them off in good hands for the weekend we were out of town and didn't have to worry at all. Thank you both so much! 💗”

“Our Charlie was well taken care of while we were out of town. Karin kept us updated on Charlie via text messages. We are very pleased with the care Charlie received from Karin. Thank you so much!”

“Amanda is wonderful to work with. We felt so comfortable with our dog Rocco staying with her. Rocco is always loved and taken good care of. Thank you Amanda for keeping us updated and sending pictures.”

“Michael, Wendy and their sweet family were amazing with our Charlie! We joked that he might be disappointed to get picked up! It was wonderful to have such peace of mind knowing our puppers was in great hands.”

“Aimee and Derek were great with my slightly nervous dog; they sent pictures everyday and were warm and friendly, perfect to keep her calm. Great location for us and easy to do drop off/pick up. Would recommend and use again!”

“Our dog had a wonderful stay with Carrie and her son. He was there over New Years Eve and was freaked out by the fireworks. Carrie helped him through it by having her son lift Chance onto her bed to soothe him (he's a big dog and doesn't normally go on beds). He was tired and happy after his week with them. Thank you!”

“Jess is absolutely fantastic. This was our first time using Rover and Jess set the bar high. She is kind, accommodating, and courteous. She gave daily updates on our little buddy and I know that he was extremely pampered and well taken care of. Thanks so much again for everything Jess, and for getting us in last minute. You are the best!”

“Rhea took such good care of our girl. She gives the dogs a nice long walk every day. I love that she only takes a dog or two at a time because it felt like Bailey got lots of attention. We would happily book with Rhea again anytime (and we will!) Thank you!”
“Dee was an awesome sitter! She took extra special care of our pups and made sure all of their needs were met. She was also great at communicating and planning. I recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter! She is amazing!!!”
“In our greet and meet interview our dog felt comfortable right away with the other dogs. We felt a relief as this is the first time we leave our dog with someone else that is not family or friend. We could see that is a caring family and he would be treated as part of it. During his stay, we got pictures showing us how great he was doing. That was something our family really liked.”

“Teaira (and her family!) were super sweet with my dog and were flexible and accommodating. She was well taken care of and it was so nice to not have to worry while we were away! I would definitely use her again to watch my pup.”

“Jewel loved her stay! Debbie and Ryan were extremely communicative and sent pics of Jewel while we were away. We had zero concerns and no worries with Jewel staying a few nights. Would highly recommend!!”

“Michelle did an amazing job looking after our dog. He is a sweet boy, but it takes a longtime for him to warm up to people and other dogs. She sent videos and photos daily and it was clear that she was trying to win him over, and she did. She kept engaging him until he felt comfortable. Not only did she take great care of him, but she also allowed us to pick him up later than expected after our plane got delayed. She will be our go-to person in the future. Great job, Michelle, and Thank you!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and Karen made the whole experience great! I’m happy we found her. She was wonderful with Coco and took great care of her while we were away. Her regular updates and photos were really appreciated, and it was great knowing Coco was in good hands. We’d definitely recommend Karen and would absolutely have Coco stay with her again if needed. Thank you, Karen!”

“Andrew was so great, he took our dogs pretty last minute and was so responsive. Great communication and sent picture while we were away. Will definitely use him again. Thank you!”

“Shannon was fantastic with our pug Steve! Her communication was excellent and incredibly quick, she kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. She gave us peace of mind that Steve was in caring hands. Would recommend Shannon to any other dog parents.”

“Allison and her family took wonderful care of my dog. She sent photos and updates frequently and he had a blast playing with new doggy friends at their house. It was a really great experience. Thank you so much!”

Sarah took such wonderful care of Mio! We could really tell that Mio was being looked after with lots of attention and love. Sarah sent us photo updates every day, which made us feel very comfortable while we were away, and she also provided Mio with plenty of fun activities to keep her entertained. They even set up a little pool for Mio to play in, which was her first time playing in the water! She looked like she had so much fun. We truly believe Mio had an exciting and very happy week with Sarah. We really appreciate all the care she gave her and would absolutely recommend her!

Taya is beyond phenomenal! My dog, Puffer needed emergency care at night and she did not hesitate whatsoever. She called me up and explained everything she was seeing in detail with Puffer. She stayed with him the entire time he needed care never leaving his side. She loves and takes care of these pups like they are her own dogs. She is very gentle and attentive. Puffer is so lucky to have such an incredible dog sitter like Taya. ❤️

My regular sitter had an emergency arise at the last minute before a 10 day trip; I have a stubborn Frenchie, and a timid (and flight-risk) new rescued pup. Marie was able to take them in, sent updates daily that were really attentive to the dogs' personalities and needs --my rescue who was too nervous to eat and she worked to find something for her that finally coaxed her into having an appetite. Just the best.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
