About: We have loved and cared for dogs nearly all our lives. We don’t just see them as pets; they are family members who deserve all the comfort and attention we can give. We are currently the proud family of Pippie, and we both play an active role in her care. Since I work from home full-time, your dog will never be lonely. Pippie is the best of both worlds - she loves to play and hang out with other dogs, but she also loves to just relax and nap. We know how hard it is to leave your furry friend behind, which is why we’re committed to providing a trustworthy, safe, and loving environment. We’ll treat your dog exactly how we treat our own—with patience, care, and plenty of affection. Because I work from home full-time, I am here to provide constant supervision, mid-day potty breaks, and companionship. Our routine revolves around Pippie's needs—mornings start with playtime and breakfast, followed by several play sessions throughout the day to burn off energy, and she usually naps under my desk as I work. With my husband and daughter coming and going, there is a constant rotation of attention. Someone is always available to care for your pet. Your dog won't just be 'fitting in' to our schedule; they will be part of our family activities, from lounging in my office while I work to evening play in the yard. We treat our guests’ schedules—like specific feeding times or medication needs—with the same priority as our own. In our home, your dog is treated like a member of the family. We have a fully fenced-in backyard, which allows for safe, off-leash playtime. Our care routine is built on consistency and comfort: Feeding & Hydration: We stick to a twice-a-day feeding schedule (or whatever your specific routine requires), and fresh water is always available. Active Supervision: Since I work from home, I provide constant supervision. Your pet will never be left unattended in the yard. Affection: We are a 'cuddle-heavy' household! Whether it’s lounging nearby while I work or getting extra attention from my husband and daughter, your dog will be showered with love. Personalized Care: We understand every dog is different. Whether they need high-energy play in the yard or a quiet spot to nap, we adapt our day to meet their specific personality and needs.
“Amanda was a perfect sitter for my hunting dog Wrigley. Given all the exercise she needed, Wrigley was allowed to socialize/play with Amanda’s two golden retrievers, was fed well, and was thoughtfully protected from the summer heat. This included early morning walks before the heat of the day. Amanda provided photos, videos and feedback to keep me apprised of Wrigley’s overall health, allowing me to more fully enjoy my time away. Wrigley quickly became part of Amanda’s family, and I am confident Wrigley received the best care possible. I highly recommend Amanda for your dog sitting needs.”

“I left my girl Lola with Bonnie and her family for the weekend, and I am so happy that I did! Bonnie made the whole experience wonderful. She sent updates and pictures throughout my time away. I really felt at ease knowing that my fur baby was so well taken care of. Lola had the best time, it was a vacation for her too. Thank you so much Bonnie! Lola can't wait to come back and spend time with you guys again :)”

“My puppy had a wonderful time with Kerry. We got plenty of pictures of her stay and she was so happy. Kerry is very kind and so good with pets. Thanks so much Kerry!”

“We never have to worry about our dog while he’s in carols care. We know she takes very good care of him and treats him as he is hers. As soon as we know we have to go out of town we sign on with carol. It’s like dropping our dog off at a relatives home so much better than taking him to the kennel”

“Our dog, Zoey, stayed with Dave over the Thanksgiving holidays. I was a little worried because Zoey has never stayed in someone’s home with other dogs and cats. It was a great experience for Zoey! Dave constantly sent photos of Zoey interacting with the other dogs so we were able to relax and enjoy our holiday. We will definitely use Dave again!”

“Emily has been watching our dog, Coda, on many multiple-day stays and has done a wonderful job. Coda takes meds twice/day and has issues with stairs/jumping; Emily takes the time to understand Coda's limitations and takes extra special care of her. And her dog, Molly, is very gentle and great with other dogs. We are moving out-of-state next month and will miss having Emily as our dog-sitter SO much. Thanks, Emily, for always giving us peace of mind when we left Coda with you!”

“This is our 2nd time with Amanda. She is wonderful with our two boys! They are happy and healthy when we pick them up. She stayed in touch with us and provided many photos. Thank you Amanda!”

“Karin was great ! I dont know how she does it all between dog sitting & being a mom, but she does a great job. Seems to be a total natural response that she loves dogs. She had my dog, Stella, for a week and would send pics often. Stella was well taken care of. Thank you !”

“Susan and her spouse has been so great with my dogs! My dogs were so excited to go see them again that I knew I found the right dog sitters and will be definitely going to use them again in the future.”

“Lerin came through when we needed a last minute dog sitter. Duncan was well taken care of. We received updates and pictures during his stay. We will definitely contact Lerin again when we need a sitter!”

“Michelle was such a great dog sitter while I was away for two weeks! She was very responsive, sent photos throughout my trip and I felt like my active border collie was well take care of. It was one of my first times dropping off my dog with another person outside of my family (espically for two weeks) and Michelle was so supportive, patient and encouraging when navigating meet and greets between our dogs. She’s someone who really understands dogs. It was a relief to find care like Michelle’s on Rover and I look forward to using her services next time I’m on a trip!”

“Our dogs had a great time staying with Denise and Casey. They hardly wanted to leave. Denise sent us updates to let us know how they were doing and kept them an extra night for us when we had an emergency. We will definitely be returning customers.”

“She was SO amazing with Murphy. He is a very very high energy dog and she took him out on an adventure everyday! When we got him back he went right to bed and hasn’t gotten up since! She sent lots of pictures and videos. We felt like he was in such good hands with them, will 10/10 use again!!”

“Alyssa and Jacob were amazing hosts! Will definitely use them again for Fritz. Great communication. We got a lot of updates and he looked like he had a blast! Came back very happy which was nice to see as Fritz can be nervous and shy in new places!”

“Our pup came home tired and happy and well taken care of! We got multiple updates and photos throughout her stay which gave us peace of mind she was in good hands. Great communication and response time!”

“This was our first time using rover to board our labradoodle and it was a great experience thanks to Heather! She is fantastic. She went out of her way to help our dog feel at home. Her communication with us was excellent. We would not hesitate to have her care for a dog again! Overall wonderful experience!”

“Rosie is the kindest person you could hope to meet on this platform (or any). She took such good care of our Beagle that I worried he wouldn’t want to come back home. When we had a travel delay due to sickness overseas, Rosie worked with us to cover additional days, and while that flexibility cannot be taken for granted, it was a lifesaver this time around. I look forward to having Totti stay in Rosie’s care again. Nothing else would make us feel more secure when we travel in the future.”

“We could not be happier or luckier to have Debbie and Ryan as a sitter for our golden. It's like a second home for him. They are the best! thank you Debbie and Ryan!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
