“She was incredibly organized, personable, and trustworthy. Wonderful communication. Treated my dog so well each time she came over! I will be using her again for sure”

“Niamh was TERRIFIC! She came over before I left to have me show her around and let her know where things are and I instantly felt at ease. She is professional and so very caring about pets in her charge. She sent over a daily picture and comments about what was done while I was out of town and I was so appreciative. it's such a relief to have found a pet sitter who is so considerate, professional and who takes the time to learn how she can best support our fur babes!”

“Sara was exceptional in caring for my two whippets during my ski trip to Bogus. She arrived right on time for their dinner, followed all instructions perfectly, and provided detailed updates throughout her visit. Her genuine care for my dogs and professionalism make her my go-to pet sitter. Highly recommended!”

“Kelcy & Keenan were just terrific to work with. I could tell immediately they love all critters & would take good care of my two kitties. They also brought in mail, watered a few potted plants, filled a bird feeder and fed the little goslings cracked corn… which I didn’t expect. All at no extra charge! There is no doubt I will call on them again!”
“Drew was perfect! He followed the directions and sent us very detailed updates. He shared several pictures each time he checked on our dogs, helping us feel better about leaving them behind. Drew is an above and beyond kind of person and that matters, thank you Drew!”

“Liz and Anna were great with my pups while I was away for a few days. They had great communication and provided updates and photos which helped me be able to enjoy my time away without anxiety and worry. I highly recommend them.”

About: Dogs love me. Owners trust me. I've spent years caring for dogs of all ages and energy levels, from bouncy, bitey puppies to gentle seniors who just want a cozy spot and a little extra patience. I'm comfortable managing a full household, having cared for up to four dogs at once, and I understand that every dog in the group has their own personality, needs, and quirks. As a walker, I stay alert and present, watching for other dogs, wildlife, traffic, and anything that might spook or excite your pup, so walks stay safe and enjoyable from start to finish. I've personally been a "dog mom" to two or more dogs at a time for years, so I don't just work with dogs, I live the daily rhythm of caring for them: the routines, the cuddles, the slobbery ball fetching. Above all, my goal is simple: your dog should feel safe, happy, and genuinely loved every moment they're in my care. And yes, if we're being honest, I probably like dogs more than most people. They're better listeners. I work full time as a flexible hybrid worker. This means I am available (and eager!) to pop out as needed. I'm often available 24/7 on weekends and can easily plan around your pets' needs, because that's what I'd want for my own pets. I do not offer pet care in my home, but when it comes to clients’ homes my mantra is the same as it is when venturing into the great outdoors — leave it better than you found it.
“Melinda was excellent watching my 2 pups! She was on time - showed up when she said she would and stayed the amount of time stated! She took very good care of my pups - including my 14 year old Abby. She took time to throw the frisbee to my full of energy 3year old Winston. I would definitely use her again and highly recommend!”

“Sarah always does a fantastic job. Its always scary leaving my very senior (and grumpy) kitty in someone else's hands but I know he is well cared for by Sarah. I hope to continue to book with her for all my future trips.”

“Kelsey was so great with my kitty. She took such good care of her and spent much quality time with her such that when I got back it was like I never left. Totally recommend her services.”

“Wendy is excellent! She is punctual, kind, and respectful. She is great with our new rescue dog, and takes care of her like one of her own! Wendy took time to meet our dog prior to drop in visits to make sure she’d be a good fit. I highly recommend her to take care of your pup ☺️”

About: Hello my name is Kaitlin and I am a wife and registered nurse looking to enrich my life and make extra income by taking care of your dogs! I am experienced with all breeds large and small, I have a house with a large fenced in yard. I have dog sat for neighbors as they traveled and am home most days. I walk or run 2-3 miles a day and would love to have a furry friend to join me. I have flexibility in my schedule and am happy to help you out and work with you to create a schedule you are happy with. I live with my Husband who is a veteran. We have two fur babies of our own. I look forward to getting to know you and your dogs, and answer any questions you may have! I am available most days to walk dogs and check on them throughout the day in their own home. I do have two dogs of my own so I won’t be able to board in my home. I will care for your pets as if they were my own. I absolutely love dogs and would love to have an animal sanctuary one day.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Garden City
Sierra was awesome with my boys! 2 large 1 year old labs that still think they're puppies. Very conscientious and reported her in home sessions with pics. Shame to lose her, but her school is and should be a priority. I would highly recommend her, if her schedule fits yours.
This was the longest I’ve been away from my 2 babies and I wasn’t worried at all because Adrianna takes such good care of them and keeps me posted with updates and pics. The fact that my shy one comes out and plays with her says so much. I have a few more trips this year and will be booking with her again!

Karin is a gem. She has been amazing with our crazy Ellie. She also made sure she could check in on Ellie after our scheduled visits because my daughter had to stay in the hospital during her vacation. She has kept Ellie safe and happy and even put our cat inside that I left out by accident. I can't recommend her enough. She is the best!

Ashley is great! We are so glad we found her to watch our two boys. Right away upon meeting her, I could immediately tell she’s an animal lover. Our gold retriever gives a lot of kisses and leaves a lot of golden dust after which isn’t for the faint of heart. She is extremely interactive and provides lots of pets and snuggles. Ashley came to our home to check in on our pups while we were out of town. Our dogs love her! She sent pictures everyday, gave them lots of hugs and play time and made sure they had a lot of attention during her drop in. Thank you!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
