“Melanie stayed in our home and was wonderful with our two boys. She sent us updates and photos thru out her stay. She was extremely easy to work with and we would book her again. Highly recommend!!”

“Kam did an excellent job and was a pleasure to work with. She is very communicative and thoughtful. Our dog - who is usually quite anxious - was extremely comfortable and relaxed with her while we were on vacation, even over the 4th of July when loud noises usually bother him. Kam stayed at our home and sent lots of cute dog pics while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“I can't say enough good things. We were a little stressed about leaving Guapo (our anxious and sometimes reactive pittie mix) with someone new on short notice over the holiday weekend, but Bishop was willing to come do a meet and greet prior to staying over and was absolutely great. Guapo took to him easily and was so well cared for - I also appreciated the quick check ins and pics to reassure us he was doing okay. This was such a relief and we will definitely reach out for future bookings!”

“Darren did such an amazing job with our dog. She’s a big girl and can be a lot to handle, but he made her feel comfortable and relaxed while we were gone. Will definitely be booking with him again!”

“Aspen took great care of our dog while we were out of town for a few days. She left our home spotless and it was clear through lots of photos that my dog felt very comfortable with her. Highly recommend!”

“Faith was so kind and our dogs were in great hands with her while we were away! She was able to come by the house a few days before to meet the boys, and needed very little additional help or direction after that. She stayed in our home all weekend and left it in better condition than when she arrived. She was also very responsive and answered messages quickly. We had some last minute travel plan changes and she was incredibly willing to accommodate and help. I will absolutely book with her again. Thank you Faith!”

“Miriam did the best job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. Miriam did a great job communicating, sending photos, updates, and left our home in fantastic condition. We have a senior dog with some anxiety, and Miriam was very experienced and understanding, which truly can’t express how much that’s appreciated. Would rebook with Miriam any time and suggest you to do the same!”

About: From the time I was old enough to ask “can we keep him” I’ve always taken care of my best friends. From walking them 3 miles to the vet (before I was old enough to drive) to daily feedings, bathing, grooming and of course, treats! While I spoil the pets, I’m always sure to give them the highest grade food and treats. I believe they deserve the best. Diet and exercise are important. A daily regiment of “fetch” is highly recommended by Duke, the black lab! I would love to take care of your best friend and ensure he/she is given the highest quality of care while keeping Duke company (Duke plays well with others.) I’ve been working from home for the last seven years. I always have time to make sure the water bowls are full and play time is given. Who says you can’t work from the patio while throwing a ball for fetch? Duke and I have a great fenced in yard for plenty of play time and potty breaks. All vegetation is harmless for pets. Grass is well groomed and “yard bombs” removed daily (or as often as required).
“We can’t say enough great things about Madelyn she took amazing care of our boys, Jett and Griffin, while we were away. From the start, communication was fantastic — we received regular updates, adorable photos:)”

About: Hi! My name is Marae. A little about me: I grew up in a home filled with a love for all animals, especially dogs and cats. From feeding and grooming to playtime, giving medication and comforting them when they were anxious, I learned early on how to understand their unique personalities and needs. Because animals have always been such an important part of my life, working with them feels completely natural to me and I truly enjoy it! When I worked at a pet boarding facility, I cared for a wide variety of dogs and cats, each with their own routines, personalities, and preferences. I always made it a priority to ensure every pet felt safe, comfortable, and loved while their families were away. I treat every animal as if they were my own. I’m also a proud cat mom to three: Luna Storm, Chanse the Rapper (he talks a lot, hence the name), and Giovanni Grey. My schedule is flexible and I am normally available even with little notice. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet soon! Im currently working a full time work at home job. Im typically off by 3:00pm but can be off earlier if need be! :) I also have a lot of time open on the weekends. I have a lot of experience taking care of others animals! Something I'm most proud of is being able to read body language and reactions from each pets as each are so different!
“Laken was instant friends with our little guy! She communicated very well and made us feel like Otto was in good hands. Otto looks forward to spending more time with Laken! Thank you! 😊”

“Kayla was amazing! My dogs were so comfortable with her and her daughter. They gave them so many snuggles and took them for walks. She sent feedback regularly (including pictures) which I appreciated! Would book her again without hesitation!”

“Angie took great care of our dog and cat while we were out for a weekend. She shared pics and updates, and coordinated to stay a little longer the day of our return when our plane was delayed. We came home to happy pets and a well kept environment. I am very grateful to Angie for taking care of our pets like we would.”

About: After working in an animal hospital, I have learned so much about dogs and the care they need! I've worked with newborn puppies all the way up to senior dogs who need some extra care and help. I try to give puppies a little bit of training when needed (just basic stuff like sit, stay, lay down). Baths and giving medicine when needed are things I am comfortable with. I absolutely love working with dogs and I do my absolute best to make them feel as comfortable, safe, and loved as I can! I have worked with cats nearly my entire life and up until a few years ago, they have been the only pet I've had! I have also worked with kittens up to senior cats. I am very aware of medications and possible health issues with dogs and cats. I love spoiling both with treats and new toys. For cats, I deep clean litter boxes regularly and make sure they stay as clean as possible. I work part time at two jobs, but I only work up to 5 hour shifts at each. I am a very organized person (I use a planner and two different calendar apps!) so I will always make sure to plan out walks, feeding, and playtime. When petsitting, your pet is my priority! It is extremely helpful if I am left a list or note of things I can do to best take care of your pet(s)! I am very bubbly and love working with animals, which I think helps pets get comfortable with me. If a pet is nervous, then I let them slowly open up on their own. At my home, I love playing with my pets, giving them treats, and spoiling them with new toys when I can.
“Michelle was perfect. She was so sweet and loving. We had a meeting before hand to make sure she was comfortable with our crew and it went great you can tell she has a big heart for animals. Our kitty Callie has some special needs and hasn't been feeling great she was really understanding and accommodating. We will definitely use Michelle for our pets again!”

Victoria was GREAT! She communicated well and sent tons of updates and took incredible pictures of River. River seemed comfortable with her right away and all the updates made us feel at ease. She also took great care of our home and was very respectful of our space. We would definitely use Victoria again!

Aspen made the whole process incredibly easy! She took fantastic care of my baby and my home as well and even went the extra mile to ensure I came home to clean sheets on the bed after a long day of travel!! I especially loved the picture updates she would send of my pup while I was away, which eased my anxiety a lot. Will 1000% be booking her in the future

We had a wonderful experience with Laura and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter. We needed to be out of town helping family, Laura stepped in on short notice and was fantastic. Bentley is very much a part of our family—he sleeps with us and has an early morning routine—so we didn’t want to kennel him or leave him alone with drop-in visits. Having Laura stay in our home gave us complete peace of mind. She took the time to come over and meet Bentley with us beforehand, arrived exactly when she said she would, and took excellent care of him all weekend. She sent regular updates and pictures, which meant a lot to us while we were away. It was clear Bentley was comfortable, well cared for, and happy. Laura was trustworthy, communicative, and genuinely kind to our dog. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for in-home pet care.

Lisa was awesome! She was a great communicator and did so well with our four dogs and cat. The dogs are energetic and she made sure to keep them busy so they barely missed us! Would recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter! Can’t say enough good things about her - just fabulous!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Blacklick walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Blacklick maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Blacklick choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Blacklick. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
