“Eric was a great dog and house sitter, he took care of everything as we discussed. He was on time and quick to respond with any questions we had. He even took care of the laundry for the sheets and towels he used! Highly recommend him!”

“Christina did an excellent job caring for my 3 month old puppy! It was my first time leaving him and she was so communicative, which made me feel so much more comfortable!”

“Kayla is so wonderful. She is dependable and I always come home to happy animals. I’ve used her 3x so far and hope she will always be available to housesit my fur babies when I’m out of town. She also takes the best pictures of them! So happy to have found her.”
“Kate was absolutely amazing. She is thorough, attentive detail, kind and engaged. My animals had the best time while we were gone and I think they were sad. She wasn’t coming back! I highly recommend Kate. I’ve already booked her again multiple times!”

“I had the pleasure of meeting and using MyQueisha’s services twice. She really is patient and loving with my dog and treats him as a member of her family. Highly recommend”

“Abby was great with my pup! She was communicative with me the whole weekend. Sent me videos and pics, and let me know how my girl was doing. I'd definitely have Abby watch my girl again anytime!”

“We had Mackenzie watch Jasmine and Rudy for a day, as a trial for a longer stay later on. We are super happy with both Mackenzie's care for the doggos and also her responsiveness and communication with us. She followed our instructions thoroughly, kept us updated, and responded promptly when we reached out. Thank Mackenzie!”

“Chloe was great! Our pups warmed up to her nicely. She was very responsive to texts and sent lots of pictures. She was also flexible when I had to adjust the day our housekeeper was coming. I would definitely work with Chloe again.”

“We went out of town just after Christmas and needed a dog sitter. We were very pleased to come home to a happy, healthy pup, we had great communication the whole time and received a set of pictures and updates every evening. We will be using Maria Abigail‘s dog sitting service again!”

“This was my first time leaving my babies Maggie and Milo for a trip and I was absolutely terrified of it. I was very worried about Maggie in particular because she has separation anxiety and doesn’t warm up to strangers. When Elizabeth saw that Maggie wouldn’t eat whatsoever, she went to the store and bought some food that helped with her appetite. She even took Milo to the vet since nobody else could take him and began administering his meds. I struck gold with Elizabeth who went above and beyond to gain their trust and take care of them. She also did all she could to reassure me and has won my trust. She took such good care of my dogs and I highly recommend her. Definitely will be having her dog sit my babies again when necessary!”

“Taylor was awesome. My dog, Miller, loved her and was very happy while I was gone. Taylor sent great pictures and treated my pup to the same love and attention he is used to. I will be booking with Taylor again and again!”

“Cathy is amazing! Highly recommend. We have two spoiled yorkies. Cathy gave them excellent attention and care while we were out of town. She sent us pictures and updates daily. We were able to fully enjoy our vacation knowing our fur babies were in great hands.”

“Leeah was fantastic! Super communicative, punctual, friendly, and took such good care of our active puppy and cat. She also left our house spotless. We’ll definitely be using her again!”

About: Hello! I am a stay at home mom to 4 children- a human, a canine, and 2 felines! I am an animal lover and would love the opportunity to watch your pup. I have a large spacious FENCED yard to provide essential exercise and play time. My dog is great with other dogs and loves playing! I will have lots of time to spend with your dog, as I am a stay at home mom. You can be at peace knowing your pup will be loved and well taken care of while you are away. I do have a 7 year old so I request that your dog be socialized and comfortable with children. My child follows basic safety rules with new dogs we meet. But if your dog has never been around children for an extended period of time, it’s probably best that another sitter handle your stay. Thank you! I work part time and have lots of free time for your pets. I have 4 pets of my own, an English Bulldog, a hound mix, and 2 cats, a husband and a child in highschool. I am a worry wart and will never let my guard down while caring for your pets. I am very comfortable with cats and dogs, and have had them my entire life. I know how to not let a cat out the door or a dog out!! I’m expert level pro. :-) I will follow your rules to the “T”. I go above and beyond to make sure your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for. I will always keep you updated with photos and videos. I’m more than just a warm body feeding and walking robot. I love animals.

About: Hi! I’m Alyssa and I grew up with all the pets, which were mostly cats and medium-to-large dogs (a golden retriever, a mut, a doodle, a husky!). For my day job I teach preschool art. I have four cats myself whom I love very much! I am happy to come spend time with your fur babies am able to walk and house sit part-time. I’m available afternoons (3 p.m. - 8 p.m.) and overnight. I have four senior cats that all require special diets. Two and two are separated. One cat is medicated (not contagious/ kidney-related ). They all get fed (and the one medicated) twice a day. Between that and the litter boxes, it’s a daily routine. When I am pet sitting, my mom (and roomie!) takes care of the kitties. I can’t keep pets at my place because my cats are scaredy; but I’m happy to come house-sit at yours. Let me know what diet, treat schedule, and medications your pet requires in addition to playtime needs and their general preferences.

Kayla is great I always feel comfortable knowing my fur babies are in her care when I’m away. She is a great communicator, very personable, sends the best pictures, and does little extra things like bring the mail and packages in which I don’t expect her to do but very much appreciate. She is just the best.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Big Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Big Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Big Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
