“Emma was fantastic with our dogs, our cats and our home. She is very sweet and great with the animals. We will definitely request her services again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Lucca was delightful with Willoughby, and she played outside with him — his favorite thing. She was accommodating about a last minute booking. I hope to request her if she’s willing and available.”

“Taylor was awesome. My dog, Miller, loved her and was very happy while I was gone. Taylor sent great pictures and treated my pup to the same love and attention he is used to. I will be booking with Taylor again and again!”

“Our 2 dogs had such a great time with Elizabeth and Mazi! She sent pictures every day and we were able to enjoy our time away without worrying about anything with the house or the dogs!”

“Terri is great!! Great communication, gave lots of love to my cat, sent pictures, and even made a last-minute revisit to our home when we had a family emergency that changed our schedule. Will be booking her frequently!”

“We re-booked Jenna for a 12-day vacation to care for our elderly two dogs with multiple medical needs. We trust her to care for them, administer their medications, and keep us informed. She sent pictures all along. The dogs enjoy having Jenna as their caregiver! I recommend her as a pet sitter as well to do drop-ins. We have also asked her to check on the dogs, let them out and feed them when we have a function in the evening. She’s a lovely, caring person.”

“We had Mackenzie watch Jasmine and Rudy for a day, as a trial for a longer stay later on. We are super happy with both Mackenzie's care for the doggos and also her responsiveness and communication with us. She followed our instructions thoroughly, kept us updated, and responded promptly when we reached out. Thank Mackenzie!”

“This was my first time leaving my babies Maggie and Milo for a trip and I was absolutely terrified of it. I was very worried about Maggie in particular because she has separation anxiety and doesn’t warm up to strangers. When Elizabeth saw that Maggie wouldn’t eat whatsoever, she went to the store and bought some food that helped with her appetite. She even took Milo to the vet since nobody else could take him and began administering his meds. I struck gold with Elizabeth who went above and beyond to gain their trust and take care of them. She also did all she could to reassure me and has won my trust. She took such good care of my dogs and I highly recommend her. Definitely will be having her dog sit my babies again when necessary!”

“Mark was absolutely amazing with our dog. He sent us photos throughout the weekend and updated us on how he was doing. Due to our dog being a little uncertain of new people, Mark even offered to come meet him ahead of time for peace of mind. We will absolutely be using him again!!”

“Shirley did a great job with our zoo (2dogs and 4cats). They were comfortable with her. She also took care of our house while we were away. I would highly recommend her to watch your fur babies and your house. Thank you Shirley!”

“McKinnon was great. She made sure to take great care of our dog that has some medical needs. Would 100% recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone to care for their pet.”

About: Hi I’m Ava! I am a college student away from home with a huge love of dogs, cats, and all animals! I have three dogs at home and I miss them so much. Providing pets with good company makes me so happy!! I am an attentive, caring, and trustworthy pet caregiver! I am currently working part time, which makes me available to give care to your pet! I have a sure mode of transportation to reach your pet easily! I am most available during the late afternoon/night time:) While caring for your pet in your home, I am respectful of their (and your) space! I have been trusted by many pet parents to care for their baby in their home!

“Erica stayed in our home with our dog Izzy for 5 nights, and it was a wonderful experience! She was super communicative the whole time, and made us really feel like we could relax on our vacation knowing Izzy was getting lots of love at home. We couldn’t be more grateful!”

“Samantha is amazing! She took such good care of Elton and sent me pictures and updates during the stay. Elton struggles to eat when I’m away and she found a way to make him feel comfortable enough to eat. I will definitely book her again!”

About: I have owned and taken care of all sorts of pets for over 25 years. I prioritize building a strong bond with your pet, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away. Whether it’s extra playtime, special dietary needs, or simply providing a calm and familiar environment, I go the extra mile to make sure your furry friend feels right at home! As for my home, I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. The three cats do their own thing and wouldn't bother any pets that stay over. They will also not like to be played with but have plenty of spaces they can go to be safe. Our dogs, one is getting older and will play a little, but otherwise, not bother any other animals in the house. The other dog loves to play and loves other dogs, she will love to have playmates! We have a decent sized, fenced-in backyard, and I always go out with my pets to supervise as they do their animal things. I work from home so I am home most of the time while my husband works during the day. We have no children, only the 5 pets we have, who get spoiled to no end. I currently work full time from home and almost always here. I am able to take them out as much as needed and play time throughout the day. I have multiple times in the day to take them for a walk and take care of any special needs. Fenced in backyard where they can enjoy the weather and sunbathe(I will monitor when outside). I have two small dogs that would love to have friends to play with. I also have a small and large crate if needed. Plenty of toys here that your dogs can play with but can also pick them up if not allowed.
About: I have been around pets my entire life specifically cats and dogs. Family and friends have trusted me to take care of their fur babies whether that meant feeding, walking, bathing, etc and I was more than happy to do it. Although this is a part time job for me I make it a priority because it is something that brings joy to my days and it means being helpful and bringing joy to a pets day as well! Any pet that I am around will be safe and taken care of 110%. I will keep an eye on them constantly, provide them with fun, care, and spend quality time with them in areas that I know they feel most comfortable in. I will priortize your pets needs above anything else!
“I had never used Rover before and was extremely nervous to have a “stranger” stay at our home. I chose to book Christel based on her reviews, and we could not have been happier with her!! She was extremely professional and amazing with our dog Piper. She was very communicative and sent wonderful updates and pictures of our pup throughout the stay. Thank you so much Christel, we can’t wait to use your services again in a few weeks!”

Susane was very sweet & caring. She took time to come & meet our 3 dogs before we booked. She stayed at our house for 5 days, which gave us comfort knowing they were not alone & in good hands. She also brought in our mail. Susane is so thoughtful & also left us a few gifts. Will book again!

Dylan did a great job arrived early so we could go over some items for caring for our older dog. He let us know that he was on his way to our house in the am which was great. He took pictures and videos which were great to see. If you need a pet sitter. Dylan is great he won’t let you down and I’m sure your pets will love him he truly ares about your pets and animals. Will definitely be using Dylan again.
Ciara took great care of our three dogs when we went out of town for 5 days. We have two 2 year old high energy corgis and a 6 month old Great Pyrenees puppy who looks like a full grown dog, but acts like a spoiled toddler! Collectively they are a challenge. She did a great job managing the herd, keeping order in the house and communicating with us. We would definitely ask Ciara to stay with our pups again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crabapple walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crabapple maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crabapple choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crabapple. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
