“We are very thankful for Kate’s help! We received many kitty pictures and updates while we were away and the house was spotless when we returned. It was our first time using Rover and are super happy with the whole experience.”

“We have had Mark sit at our house twice now and couldn’t be more happy. We have a high energy, large, 1 year old golden retriever and Mark is excellent with him! He leaves our house as clean as we left it and it’s like he wasn’t even here when we get home (the only clue is our dog is more well behaved once we get home). He sends us pictures of our pup and is a trustworthy person to have at our home.”

“Tristan was great. He arrived on time and was very polite. He took very good care of my baby and provided constant updates. I will definitely contact Tristan for any future needs.”

“I have the greatest of confidence that Dale takes care of our little Callie in the very best way. Keeping us up to date on how she is doing while we are out of town is very reassuring to us.”
“George worked hard to make sure all the pets were happy and loved during our trip. We received great photos and videos, but he also kept the line of communication open so nothing was missed.”
“Manoela was great! She was able to watch our dog Max fairly last minute. She was punctual, quick to respond, and sent us photos - I could tell Max was comfortable with her! Thank you!”

“Neisha was so kind and really took great care of my home and Pepper. I was concerned about leaving someone I just met in my home, but I feel Neisha was respectful and took care of my home like I would. She was great with Pepper, washing her often and brushing her hair. I'd definitely use her again. Thank you, Neisha!”

About: I’ve owned and worked with animals my entire life, and caring for pets is second nature to me. I’ve raised and loved two senior dogs of my own, so I understand how to provide gentle, attentive care—especially for pets who need extra patience and support. Whether it’s giving meds, helping with mobility, or simply offering comforting company, I know how to meet pets where they are. What truly sets me apart is the love and respect I bring to every animal I meet. I treat your pets like my own—with warmth, responsibility, and a deep understanding of their unique personalities and needs. Pet sitting is my job, so I’m able to offer flexible, reliable care throughout the week. I don’t have a traditional 9–5 schedule, which means I can adjust my availability to fit your pet’s needs—whether that’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening visits. I’m committed to giving your pets consistent, loving attention and making sure their routine stays as comfortable and stress-free as possible while you’re away. When caring for pets in your home, I always aim to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I respect your space, follow all instructions carefully, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well-cared for while you’re away. Whether that means sticking to a strict feeding schedule, giving medications, or just offering extra snuggles, I treat your home and your pet with the same care and attention I would my own.
“My girls loved Donne. She stayed with them for 8 nights and did a fantastic job. She left the house spotless and even vacuumed! I would highly recommend Donne for any pet needs. Since we found her we are planning more excursions knowing we have a new loving and caring “family member “!!”

About: I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to get to know what makes them feel comfortable. I’ll care for your pet the way you do, and I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. 🐾 I have a flexible schedule, so it’s easy for me to make pet care part of my day. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I can easily adjust to each pet’s routine and give them the attention they need! I treat every pet like they’re my own and always do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. I know being away from their owner can be stressful, so I focus on making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved until you get home.
“Carly was great! She took care of our girls and the house while we were gone for 5 days. When we got home. The dogs were in excellent shape both physically and emotionally and the house was in fantastic shape as well. We highly recommend Carly!”

“THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Summer did an excellent job with Miles and Alex. I thought our home was a pet spa when we arrived home. The old man tried to escort to the stairs when it was time for Summer to leave. She is definitely a FIVE STARS sitter. If you need a sitter, then consider Summer.”
“This was our second time using Scott, Elizabeth and Allison to watch our pup and house sit for us. We really appreciated the terrific care they gave Bandit and our home. We returned from our trip to a clean and happy pup, and our home was just the way we left it. I highly recommend them for any of your needs, as they will treat your pup and home with care and attention. Thank you again!”

About: Doing Meet & greets are mandatory for my services. I know this may be an inconvenience to some and I apologize but it is quite necessary. I havent been on Rover for a while because COVID in 2020 forced me to take a break from dogs and instead I had to work in restaurants. I'm finally able to return to working with dogs after a long 5 years. I have always been a pet owner or caretaker. Sometimes my pet was a dog, a cat, fish, or even a reptile. I have experience with both aggressive/higher maintenance dogs as well as timid, shy and anti-social dogs. I've worked at a doggy daycare for up to 5 years as well as having walked/boarded dogs continuously for over a decade and a half. I'm confident with being able to handle up to 100 dogs on my own so walking up to 2 or 3 isnt much of a challenge for me. I adapt quickly to each and every dog. Over the first few weeks, your dog will come to love me and get super excited whenever i drop by. Its a gift and a curse. Beyond my personal and professional experience, I have also helped my family and friends with their pets. Whether it be house sitting, checking in on them, behavior training, or having them board at my place, I've just always enjoyed helping out with animals. Its my passion and I want to do it as long as I live, as silly as that may be. I have a tendency to become every dog's best friend. They're our best friends, but you can have more than one, right? That's where I come in! . Each pet is a unique family member with their own personality that I adapt myself to in order to make the animal feel as comfortable as possible. I grew up with Chow Chow mixes and personally love Australian Shepherds, Cane Corsos and Rhodesian Ridgebacks right now. It's hard to pick a favorite as I've worked with many varying breeds and temperaments over the years. All puppers are wonderful flufferbears who deserve to be loved and played with, walked and petted, and given attention to as often as possible. I love to give dogs attention and be around them and work with them. Dogs are easy for me to engage with and I have plenty of experience engaging with just about any kind of dog. I'm even known around my apartments as the guy that wears everyone's dog out for fun despite owning only 2 cats. I love taking action photos of dogs and I even brag about the dogs to the owners and other people. I really understand how to comfort dogs and engage with them on their level. I respect their boundaries and take note of their body language and actions. If the dog is shy or timid, I let them come to me in their own time. When dogs are territorial, I let them do their own thing and if they just choose to accept me, then so be it.... but I will probably still try to get them to like me and befriend me. I can't help it. I just love dogs, they're so precious. See, I end up just talking forever about dogs. They're wonderful creatures and precious family members and they're always there for you! Sometimes, you can't always be there for them. I can do my best to help you fill that gap and ensure they're still loved, appreciated and taken care of with their best interests in mind. I care more about animals than people. I can't help but be honest, they're just loving and sweet and precious and amazing and, well, I don't need to keep telling you how awesome your pet is. You already know.. But I will still end up telling you anyways. I'll make sure you get photos of your pup or even cat every day! I'm used to taking hundreds of photos daily from my previous job being a Kennel technician and Yard Supervisor at a Doggy Daycare and Boarding facility. All the photos I currently have uploaded are from working at that facility. Feel free to ask me any questions you feel necessary in regards to taking care of your doggo. I'm comfortable and confident in answering any questions or concerns you may have to make you feel more at ease with me taking care of your pet. I do have experience giving both cats and dogs medication. My availability is fairly flexible to start early or stay later, as long as you give me advanced notice. I will do my best to be attentive of and respond to requests and inquiries within 30 minutes maximum. If there is a delay, then I probably got distracted by a dog.
“Samantha is amazing! She took such good care of Elton and sent me pictures and updates during the stay. Elton struggles to eat when I’m away and she found a way to make him feel comfortable enough to eat. I will definitely book her again!”

About: I’m a mom to 4 rambunctious children and 1 kid friendly chihuahua(14) and 1 loving husky pit mix(1). When most people meet my dog they are surprised at how friendly he is and how good he is with our young children. We used to have two dogs but we had to put older one down due to seizures and brain issues. In high school I worked in an army veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant for a cooperative work experience program. My original plan in life was to be a veterinarian but after having to assist with some tough cases I decided just being a good pet owner and caregiver was more my speed. I’m a full time stay at home mom and love playing with my dogs and kids in my spare time. I’d love to help you care for your fur baby as well. I’m pretty flexible. I’m home days once I get my kids get off to school during the day. In the evenings and on weekends I take them to their respective practices or games but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time to care for and give your fur baby some love as well. I like to take my fur babies for about a mile walk in the morning and then my younger pup will go on another half mile walk with me in the after noon. My older guys stays home and chills but he gets lots of love and snuggles at home.

Lorelei stayed at our home for a week and took wonderful care of our two dogs while we were away. She kept us updated, left the house clean, and made sure our pups were happy and well cared for. It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. We would definitely book with Lorelei again!

I cannot say enough good things about Zack! He was incredibly kind, patient, and caring with my Great Dane, treating him like one of his own. During our time away, my dog developed some stomach issues and ended up with diarrhea, and Zack went above and beyond by administering medication and making sure he was comfortable, cared for, and closely monitored. Zack kept me updated throughout the stay, was attentive to my dog's needs, and handled everything with such professionalism and compassion. Knowing my pup was in such capable hands gave me complete peace of mind. It is clear that he genuinely loves animals and takes great pride in the care he provides. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and truly dedicated to the well-being of your pets, I highly recommend Zack. We will absolutely be booking with him again

Our dog had an unexpected trip to the vet the night before we went out of town and was sent home with several medications and eye gel to take. Leanna made us feel so reassured as she handled the new medication request SO well. Especially with our dog who doesn’t like to take medications. We’re so grateful for Leanna!!

Claire did a wonderful job with our pup Miles! We greatly appreciated the consistent communication & various pictures throughout her stay. Claire made sure to ask questions in order to be consistent with our pups routine. We were overall very happy with Claire & the excellent care she provided!

Willow was a gift to leave our pups with! She was so reliable, always on time and very communicative! She brought in mail and left our home spotless! She was available at a moments notice and even offered to stay longer depending on our commute back home! We (and our pups) loved having Willow pup sit for us! 🤍🐶

Kotryna was great! She watched my 4 month old Swissy Mitch. For starters she arrived on time. She took Mitch out regularly throughout the day. The weather was nice so she let him explore the backyard and gave him plenty of playtime in the front. I got plenty of updates during the day and a full update when she left. I am super happy with the care she provided Mitch and look forward to having her help in the future!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Windrush on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 4,798 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windrush. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windrush walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windrush maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windrush choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windrush. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
