“We had a last-minute situation, and I really appreciate that Katie accepted the sit on short notice and showed up the very same night. She did a good job looking after our cats and made sure they were well fed and had fresh water, which gave us the peace of mind we needed. We truly appreciate the quick availability and the solid care provided during this emergency!”

“Our Cat had great care while we were away. Needing some eye care (drops) multiple times daily, was no problem for Virginia. I know Porter will miss her until next time.”

“Manoela was fantastic !! She was punctual and was very communicative about how my pupper was doing. Booked her for daily check ins for two weeks and it went problem free!”

“Sara is communicative, responsive and punctual! She plays with my kittens and pay attention to what they need. I’m grateful for her and highly recommend her to anyone that need help with their pets while away from home”

About: I have always loved all kinds of animals. I grew up befriending and taking care of multiple neighborhood pets. I ran a pet sitting business for most of my childhood. I recently worked at a vets office and have experience with all kinds of animals in all kinds of conditions. This also means that I have experience taking care of sick pets or being able to medicate when instructed. I have been a long time cat lover, now having three live with me in my home. Each have their own unique personalities and traits, no cat is "just a cat" to me. I have my older scaredy cat, my middle aged "annoying" brother cat, and our sweet rambunctious younger girl cat. I think I have a good personality for meeting new cats and usually can get them to warm up to me in time. I am quiet, calm, and clean, content to spend time with the smallest of your family. I am looking to do more and more cat sitting, I will be available all summer! I would love to spend more time with your pet. In my own home I do daily litter box cleanings, food and water bowl swaps, and play multiple times a day. Generally pet's worlds are our homes and I believe it is important their world is clean and stimulating.
“We have worked with a few sitters now and for a last minute trip we found Ana. She is by far the best we have worked with and will work with her going forward. She is the most detailed sitter we have used and her visits are exactly on time. It provides peace of mind while we are traveling. She is amazing!”
“Karen was the best! She treated the pups like her own and was so kind despite my having to modify my plans several times due to delayed travel. Would love to have Karen watch them again!”

“Elizabeth is a great communicator! Our cats are shy, so she didn't get to play with them, but she did get pictures of them! She showed up when I asked her to--I didn't have to worry while I was out of town. Also, she was able to accommodate me on short notice--thank you!”

About: I grew up at a school with a farm and have always been an animal lover. Outside of my family dog, I’ve always loved taking care of friends’ animals as well as taking local jobs. I’ve worked with a local pet walking service before, and I absolutely adored it! I’ll take great care of your fur baby, they will still be well loved in your absence. Even if they’re a bit picky with people, I tend to win over nervous dogs as well as excited dogs. My family called me “the dog whisperer” growing up. I do work as a server 5 days a week. My shifts last about 4-8 hours, depending on the day. I have a bit of flexibility with my shifts last lengths though depending on the required walk frequency! Talk to me about what you’re looking for! I can take specific instructions to fit into your pet’s routine. I’m very flexible.
“Flavia was an excellent sitter for Midnight. Midnight is a senior dog and does not favor many people. Flavia and Midnight connected right away. Highly recommend her for your pet and will most definitely request her again.”
“Brian took care of our four cats while we were away on vacation. He sent photos each day and made sure they were given some attention in our absence. We appreciate the consistency with the visits each day.”

“Carrie was SO amazing with our older, nervous dog. She took her on short nice walks, snuggled her and sent detailed updates. I’ve never felt more confident about our dog being well cared for than I did with Carrie’s pics and notes. Thank you! Will hope to have you anytime we are ever in need.”

About: I’ve had plenty of experience taking care of cats and dogs, both my own family’s and our neighbors’. I’ve had some experience working with puppies and cleaning accidents I am currently a full-time student, so I am free all-day most days of break. I tend to be more of a night owl than early bird, so my day usually starts around 10 AM I have amateur experience helping to calm both dogs and cats. My family has a fenced-in backyard with ample space for running and playing, and a dog who loves to do both.

About: I’m a huge animal lover and enjoy every opportunity to meet and care for new pets, whether they’re big or small, young or old! While I’m just getting started on Rover, I’ve been pet sitting for years and even worked as a dog walker in college. I have a black Lab named Theo, who I adopted from the Guide Dog Foundation after he was released for health reasons. Through my experience as a puppy raiser, as well as caring for other guide dog puppies when their raisers were out of town, I gained extensive experience with dog behavior, training, and safety. Because of that background, I feel confident handling a wide variety of pets and situations. Your pet’s safety and well-being will always be my top priority, so I make sure to discuss things like heat precautions, bloat, and other common dangers before we move forward so that I’m completely aware of your pets needs and quirks! I also know how important updates are when you’re away from your furry family members, so you can expect plenty of photos, communication, and detailed updates throughout my time with your pet. I’m here to connect, care for, and love your pet like my own! I am currently home full time and am available for drop ins or house sittings when needed! I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings! When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies on walks, to dog parks, and anything else you already do with them to make them the most comfortable!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windrush. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
