“We would recommend Annabelle for any of your pet care needs, she is very loving, gentle, patient and caring. She did and excellent job for our family pet Zeus and extremely energetic 9 month old brendle boxer. Awesome job Annabelle Zeus misses you and say hi again thanks so much for taking such great care of him during our absence.”

“Karen was the best! She treated the pups like her own and was so kind despite my having to modify my plans several times due to delayed travel. Would love to have Karen watch them again!”

“Our Cat had great care while we were away. Needing some eye care (drops) multiple times daily, was no problem for Virginia. I know Porter will miss her until next time.”

About: Hi! I'm Sydney, a young adult with a flexible schedule looking to incorporate some pet sitting into my summer. I'm new to Rover, but have been working with and caring for pets for close to 10 years! I love any and all animals, and have the professional experience to back up that enthusiasm! I've cared for pets my whole life, including my own senior cats with specific diet and medicinal needs. I've also cared for dogs of every kind - literally from Shih Tzus to German Shepherds and everything in between! In addition, I have experience with birds, reptiles, and fish: I love exotic pets just as much as I love furry friends. I can't wait to meet yours! Friends and family describe me as responsible and organized - I want you to enjoy your time away from home without worrying about any logistics. My goal is to take excellent care of your pets while also handling the little things: feeding your fish, watering your plants, bringing in your mail, taking out your trash... whatever will make your life easier! I am currently working part time (20-30 hrs/week) at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, so I am locally available and flexible for multiple visits per day. Please reach out for specific times/dates/scheduling details! I am not able to offer boarding services at this time, but am more than happy to adjust my care relative to your home, yard, and spatial needs.
“This is the second time we have used Ana and she went above and beyond. We have a very timid husky who does not like strangers or unfamiliar places. Ana is so kind and thoughtful that by the third day our husky was coming out of her shell and forming a relationship. Ana is extremely punctual, always leaves notes after the visit, and takes great pictures. Always reassuring us there are no issues. We look forward to having Ana take care of our pets.”
About: I’m a huge animal lover and enjoy every opportunity to meet and care for new pets, whether they’re big or small, young or old! While I’m just getting started on Rover, I’ve been pet sitting for years and even worked as a dog walker in college. I have a black Lab named Theo, who I adopted from the Guide Dog Foundation after he was released for health reasons. Through my experience as a puppy raiser, as well as caring for other guide dog puppies when their raisers were out of town, I gained extensive experience with dog behavior, training, and safety. Because of that background, I feel confident handling a wide variety of pets and situations. Your pet’s safety and well-being will always be my top priority, so I make sure to discuss things like heat precautions, bloat, and other common dangers before we move forward so that I’m completely aware of your pets needs and quirks! I also know how important updates are when you’re away from your furry family members, so you can expect plenty of photos, communication, and detailed updates throughout my time with your pet. I’m here to connect, care for, and love your pet like my own! I am currently home full time and am available for drop ins or house sittings when needed! I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings! When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies on walks, to dog parks, and anything else you already do with them to make them the most comfortable!
“Katie was wonderful! She took the time to coax out our sky kitty as well as give plenty of love to our more relaxed ones. We’d happily have her look after our babies any time.”

“Sara is communicative, responsive and punctual! She plays with my kittens and pay attention to what they need. I’m grateful for her and highly recommend her to anyone that need help with their pets while away from home”

“Flavia was an excellent sitter for Midnight. Midnight is a senior dog and does not favor many people. Flavia and Midnight connected right away. Highly recommend her for your pet and will most definitely request her again.”

“Always have had a positive experience when using Tamara! She provides descriptive details of her visits every time she comes over. Makes me feel like I’m actually there with them. I will use her every time!! Thank you for loving my fur baby when I can’t be there 💕”

“Ashli was great. We engaged her for drop in visits while we were away. She was very reliable and on time for all of the visits. The dogs were happy when we returned home.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for about 6 years now and love every minute of it. I’m comfortable with puppies and older dogs alike. Whether your pup needs lots of playtime or some extra gentle care, I’ve got it covered! I work part-time, so my schedule is pretty flexible! While my hours can vary week to week, I’m usually available for drop-by visits and can work around your pet’s routine to make sure they get the care and attention they need. When caring for pets, I always do my best to keep things calm, safe, and familiar. I follow their usual routine, whether that’s feeding, walks, or just some cozy company. “Brian did a fabulous job with our sweet cat Dooley. When we returned we found the litter box pristine & he sent great feedback & pictures while we were away. I will def use Brian again.”

“Elizabeth is a great communicator! Our cats are shy, so she didn't get to play with them, but she did get pictures of them! She showed up when I asked her to--I didn't have to worry while I was out of town. Also, she was able to accommodate me on short notice--thank you!”

“Carrie looked after Teddie while I was on a couple of trips and both times she was amazing. He’s not used to me being away and she made sure that he was comfortable, loved on, and well taken care of. She’s very thorough with check ins and always keeps you informed, I felt so relieved having her watch him and look forward to hiring her again in the future!”

“She was on time and enthusiastic! Really bonded with my pups and seemed to genuinely love animals! Asked loads of questions and followed instructions to a “T”! I would definitely recommend her for your fur-babies!”

Lisa did a fantastic job dropping in and making sure my two cats were fed and doing well. This is my second time Lisa has helped me when I needed someone to watch my fur babies. Will definitely rebook again. I highly recommend her to be your next pet caretaker

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
