“We have had Mark sit at our house twice now and couldn’t be more happy. We have a high energy, large, 1 year old golden retriever and Mark is excellent with him! He leaves our house as clean as we left it and it’s like he wasn’t even here when we get home (the only clue is our dog is more well behaved once we get home). He sends us pictures of our pup and is a trustworthy person to have at our home.”

“I have no doubt Barbara goes above and beyond taking care of my dog and home. I have great piece of mind leaving my pets in her care, and for an anxious clingy dog, she is very content and comfortable in Barbara’s care.”

“Tristan was great. He arrived on time and was very polite. He took very good care of my baby and provided constant updates. I will definitely contact Tristan for any future needs.”

“Tempest was fantastic when she watched our cat and dog. She was professional, great with communication and updates, and most importantly, gave the pets lots of attention and snuggles.”

“Caitlin was a total lifesaver! My fiancé and I were both traveling for work and my trip was very last minute so she really saved the day watching our dog. She responds super quick and fit in a meet and greet on short notice too. She sent updates the entire time we were gone, took really good care of our girl and left our house very clean. 1000% recommend and while we don’t travel a lot without our pup we will definitely reach out in the future.”

“10/10 would recommend Cassidy for house sitting your pet! She was great with our Australian Shepherd who has some nuanced social anxieties, and Cassidy helped his worried mama feel comfortable leaving him home. She gave our dog lots of love, attention, and exercise, even a super cute bandana! She also took great care of our home and sent frequent updates and pictures. Cassidy is professional, knowledgeable, responsible, and sweet. We look forward to requesting her services again!”

“She was absolutely amazing with my four dogs. Caring for one dog is one thing, but handling four takes real patience, attention, and genuine love for animals, and she exceeded expectations in every way. She was reliable, communicative, and made me feel completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. All four dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly received plenty of attention and affection. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs all my life! My neighbors, family and friends trust me to feed, walk and play with their dogs! I love caring for them! I’m a currently working part-time where I make my own schedule, so I have plenty of time to care for your pups! I can easily fit them into my schedule! I have a fenced in yard and plenty of room for them to run around! I grew up with a dog of my own that I care for as well!

About: I’m a mom to 4 rambunctious children and 1 kid friendly chihuahua(14) and 1 loving husky pit mix(1). When most people meet my dog they are surprised at how friendly he is and how good he is with our young children. We used to have two dogs but we had to put older one down due to seizures and brain issues. In high school I worked in an army veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant for a cooperative work experience program. My original plan in life was to be a veterinarian but after having to assist with some tough cases I decided just being a good pet owner and caregiver was more my speed. I’m a full time stay at home mom and love playing with my dogs and kids in my spare time. I’d love to help you care for your fur baby as well. I’m pretty flexible. I’m home days once I get my kids get off to school during the day. In the evenings and on weekends I take them to their respective practices or games but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time to care for and give your fur baby some love as well. I like to take my fur babies for about a mile walk in the morning and then my younger pup will go on another half mile walk with me in the after noon. My older guys stays home and chills but he gets lots of love and snuggles at home.
“Christina was wonderful with the dogs. They absolutely loved her! She kept them so active, I think they were sorry to see me come home. lol. Would highly recommend her!”
About: I have two years of experience pet sitting/ dog walking for family and friends. This also included extended overnight pet care for weekends or vacation. I am currently a full-time college student looking for flexible part time pet care work in hopes of earning extra cash for future college expenses. My general mends of pet care include dog walking, feeding, scheduled potty breaks, playtime, and training development. This is also included in overnight pet care.
“Ana is a wonderful dog sitter. Very professional, always on time, good communication. Most of all, our Aussie loves her. And Ana sent us great pics that she took of her during her stay.”

“This is the second time we have booked with Leanna, and we couldn’t be happier! Came home to a clean home and very happy pup. We really appreciated the daily photo updates as well.”

About: I have always loved all kinds of animals. I grew up befriending and taking care of multiple neighborhood pets. I ran a pet sitting business for most of my childhood. I recently worked at a vets office and have experience with all kinds of animals in all kinds of conditions. This also means that I have experience taking care of sick pets or being able to medicate when instructed. I have been a long time cat lover, now having three live with me in my home. Each have their own unique personalities and traits, no cat is "just a cat" to me. I have my older scaredy cat, my middle aged "annoying" brother cat, and our sweet rambunctious younger girl cat. I think I have a good personality for meeting new cats and usually can get them to warm up to me in time. I am quiet, calm, and clean, content to spend time with the smallest of your family. I am looking to do more and more cat sitting, I will be available all summer! I would love to spend more time with your pet. In my own home I do daily litter box cleanings, food and water bowl swaps, and play multiple times a day. Generally pet's worlds are our homes and I believe it is important their world is clean and stimulating.
“Lindsey did a great job taking care of our 3 dogs while we were out of town for the weekend. They can be high maintenance at feeding times, but seemed to have done well.”

“Jasmine was incredible! Kept me well informed about what was going on with Baxter. Spent lots of time outside with him. I could tell he had a great time with Jasmine! Will definitely use Jasmine again in the future to house & dog sit.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandy Plains
Manoela was friendly, communicative, and provided regular updates throughout the stay. My pets were well cared for, and I appreciated receiving photos and videos while I was away. She was responsive to messages and easy to work with. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.

Claire did a wonderful job with our pup Miles! We greatly appreciated the consistent communication & various pictures throughout her stay. Claire made sure to ask questions in order to be consistent with our pups routine. We were overall very happy with Claire & the excellent care she provided!

We boarded our two bernedoodles for the first time, we usually have a sitter come stay at our house, so we weren’t sure how they would do. One suffers from some pretty severe separation anxiety. But, Ali did a great job and everything went well! Would recommend her services.

Valerie is an excellent dog sitter and I highly recommend her! She was very responsive throughout the entire boarding experience and kept us updated regularly, which gave us great peace of mind. She was also incredibly patient with our dog, who was a little shy and reluctant to warm up at first. Despite that, Valerie handled it with grace and never made us feel like it was an issue. We will definitely be booking with her again!

Kotryna was great! She watched my 4 month old Swissy Mitch. For starters she arrived on time. She took Mitch out regularly throughout the day. The weather was nice so she let him explore the backyard and gave him plenty of playtime in the front. I got plenty of updates during the day and a full update when she left. I am super happy with the care she provided Mitch and look forward to having her help in the future!!

John did such a wonderful job at our home watching our sweet cat Maxine! He stayed with her for two weeks while we were away. He took care of her every evening and watched over our home as well. He took great care with both. Thank you so much, John. We appreciate all you did and will use you every time. We travel from here on out!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sandy Plains walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sandy Plains maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sandy Plains choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
