“Excellent communication. Details matter, & they help put you at ease when you leave the buddies behind. Also, some small things you likely forget about, like I do, get addressed out of kindness..even tho it’s outside the scope of pet care (box on the porch brought in, just thoughtful actions like that- not painting the walls or reupholstered furniture! lol). It’s care above care. Highly recommend. And, importantly, the cats enjoy the visits!”

About: Animals make life so much better, and I’ve been looking after them as a side hustle for 20 years. I work full time at a library in Northern Colorado. I work full time Monday through Friday. Prefer to stay over with your animal so their routine isn’t disrupted. Love going for walks with dogs, and will make sure they get some exercise before and after my shift. I have extensive experience staying over with animals in people’s homes and am a respectful and cozy houseguest. Always happy to learn the particulars of each home.
“Jessica dropped in to check on our pups at the times we requested and sent us photos of our pups so we knew they were taken care of and had some playtime. She was communicative and followed all instructions. We’ll use her again for sure!”

“Zach and Ellie did an amazing job taking care of my cats. One of my cats has a medical condition so they gave him his daily meds. They fed the cats, cleaned the cat litter and all the accidents that my sick cat unfortunately has, played with them and gave them lots of affection. I got daily reports and lots of pictures.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of every kind for 10 years. As a therapist with a flexible schedule, I bring a calm, patient energy to pet care and always give dogs plenty of attention and exercise. As a therapist, I set my own hours, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I’m reliably available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding throughout the week and on weekends. My home is a comfortable, pet-friendly environment — I have a dog and two cats of my own, so your pet will have friendly animal company and be cared for the same way I care for my own pets.
“Claire has the calmest and most gentle demeanor and Chloe instantly took to her. She was very easy to communicate with and we are already planning to use her again this week!”

“Our kitty has always been shy of people; however, after only two days our Ruthie girl let Bridgett per her and was purring for her! Bridgett must have a way with cats and I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Nicole helped keep my new border collie company for a couple drop in visits while I was away long hours at work. She was communicative and responsive and I know Logan loved it! Thanks Nicole!”

About: I’ve owned animals my whole life and take great pride in making sure they are well taken care of. I’ve often been told that my animals are spoiled, but I like knowing they are happy and safe. I’ve taken care of pets for friends and family many times, and treat them as if they are my own. I’m currently working part time in the morning/early afternoons so I am available in the afternoons/evenings and weekends for walking and caring for your pets, I let my personal pets in my house, and like to play with them outside when possible. I am willing to crate your pets if needed, and will play with your pets to let them burn off energy.
About: I love hiking and animals, so rover is perfect for my situation. I’ve grown up with dogs and various other animals my whole life and I currently own a cat and a dog with my husband. I have over 50+ hours of volunteer work at the humane society and have a certification for basic obedience in dog training. Your pets needs are my top priority and their well being is in my best interest. I’d love to work with any dog breeds cats, and am open to other species. I’m easy going and responsible with availability on additional requests for your pet(s). I have a pretty flexible schedule and I’m very attentive and will make time to make sure your pet is happy and its needs are fulfilled! I love animals and I will do my best to keep your animal safe and cared for. Safety and comfort for your pet are always my number one priority. Right now I’m working part time so I have more flexibility than on my profile and am willing to discuss any additional requests or times. When caring for pets in my client's home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. I know pets are happiest when they feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I'll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, medications, exercise, playtime, and any special needs or preferences. I pay close attention to each pet's behavior and well being, making sure they have fresh water, a clean space, and plenty of love and attention. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.
About: I have owned cats for over 20 years. I currently have 2 cats and adore them. They are good around small dogs and other cats. I have a great setup that includes scratching posts, towers, ledges, hammocks, and even a cat condo. They love spying on birds, squirrels, and other critters on the ledges by the window. I only take one client at a time so will not board other cats during your booking. I'd like to keep it to a two cat max, but if you have more we can discuss it. I am flexible and open minded. Small dogs are also welcome. My cats are good around dogs. They ignore them, just like they ignore me when I tell them to behave :) I have a fresh running water cat fountain and toys and will give your cats all of the TLC they deserve. I know how important it is to know your cats are in good hands and will go out of my way to ensure they are happy. I work full time Monday-Friday 6am-4pm. I do make it home during lunch to let them out for a potty break. I'm off on the weekends. This should not be a problem for cats. Water/litter will be changed/cleaned daily. I feed the cats/dogs twice a day. If you need anything else, I can accommodate whatever your needs are. My cats are family and mean the world to.me! They are loved and treated well. Your sweet pet will be happy here! Looking forward for your furbaby to meet us!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Berthoud
We were a little uneasy using the Rover app for the first time but needed a last minute sitter for our dog and cat. Linda was amazing and exceeded expectations. She took great care of our animals, communicated with us and followed up multiple times throughout the visit. Our dog was a little timid at first but quickly warmed up to Linda and loved the attention. Thank you and we will definitely book again ❤️

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Berthoud. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
