“Dani is so great with Jade! She took the time to ask me about Jade's needs and is so professional and caring. She has a lot of experience with dogs so I had no concerns having her walk my dog, who can pull sometimes. Great communication too!”

“Our dog seemed happy when we got home. House was exactly how we left it. Our door lock was messing up and Gayle immediately contacted us and we were able to work it out. Happy to have someone nearby. Would book her again.”
“Sally was very friendly, communicative, and thorough, and she was great with our bunnies and anxious cat. We had told her about some signs to look for from past medical problems, and she was sure to update us about that every day. I'd highly recommend her!!”

“Janelle was great with Coconut! She even messaged me when Coconut wasn’t eating… it was mostly because she missed us. With a quick change in her food…Coconut was back on track. Janelle went above and beyond. Would highly recommend her.”

“Bridgett took excellent care of our furr babies while we were away for a week. This was the longest we have been separated from them and it a great reassurance to have Bridgett care for them. Bridgett was very communicative and observant and spent lots of quality time with our cat and dog. I highly recommend Bridgett for your loved ones.”

About: My name is Mackenna and I’m 25, I’ve been pet sitting since I was little, because of this I have experience with both small dogs such as Scottish terriers to big dogs such as Newfoundlands. I’ve taken care of both puppies and senior dogs. I am able to walk and run with your dogs for up to 13 miles, so hopefully enough to meet the needs of any high energy dogs. I’ve also pet sit cats, fish, hamsters, and turtles. So I’m willing to petsit most pets. I’m always willing to learn more in order to take of your pets better! My work schedule varies from week to week, so I keep my Rover calendar updated and only accept bookings that fit my availability. I carefully plan my schedule to make sure I can provide reliable, attentive care and maintain your pet's routine. Before confirming any booking, I'll always communicate my availability so you know exactly what to expect. I have no pets in my home currently. I live in an apartment with a balcony and have multiple close trails near me that I can bring your dog to!
“Katrina was wonderful with our 120 pound pup. We have never used Rover before and were a bit nervous. But Katrina made it easy and we and our pup felt great leaving him in Katrina’s care!”

“Undoubtedly we will be rebooking with Shelby on our next trips! Shelby is responsible, attentive, and caring. Shelby made our experience away from home worry free knowing my pets were being taken care of really well! My dog and cat loved Shelby and would always run to the door excitedly when they would hear the car drive up. My pets have a very specific feeding routine and Shelby followed instructions perfectly, and sent us updates and pictures after every check in. Shelby, we really appreciate having you be there while we were away. Thanks so much!”

“Ren was such a great cat sitter! Our cat loved having someone come by to cuddle and play with. Ren was so thorough with her report and sent so many adorable photos! We will absolutely be asking her back the next time we go out of town!”

“Olivia was excellent. She came through on short notice during the Christmas break and made an extra effort to accommodate my visiting fur family, allowing the 2-legged types to go skiing. She was communicative and caring. I would be glad to have her back anytime there was a need.”

“Zoe did an excellent job taking care of our three (!) cats while we were out of town for a few days. We returned home to happy kitties and a clean kitty area. Zoe was extremely communicative and kept us posted with pictures and feedback of her time spent with our guys. I highly recommend Zoe and am already planning to book her for another upcoming trip.”

About: I’ve been taking care of other people’s pets since I was 15, and working on Rover for about a year and a half. I know how important our fur families are and would love to be there to support your dog(s) and/or cat(s) while you are away. I have experience with multiple breeds of dogs, such as Pit Bulls, Greyhounds, German Shepherds, Shih Tzus, Beagles, Golden-Doodles, Schnauzers, Chihuahuas and all sorts of mixed-breeds. All ages welcome, as I have experience working with dogs from ~3 months to 16 years old. Additionally, I have experience working with dogs and cats with disabilities and special needs, such as blindness, deafness, heart murmurs, joint issues, hip dysplasia, and thyroid conditions. I’m experienced in providing oral medication, eye drops, and vitamins/supplements. I am highly attuned to the ways pets express their feelings of joy, love, and fear. I use this knowledge to support my care for them and am responsive to the ways they communicate their comfort levels. My main goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for your pets to thrive while you are away. I care for the animals I sit for as if they were mine! I know the pet parent’s experience is just as important and send pictures, videos, and detailed updates daily to ensure they know their families are getting amazing care while they’re away. I work from home and can easily transition my workstation to any place necessary. Most of my plans I have are flexible and local. I love going on walks and spending time at home reading/crafting. I update my calendar regularly on Rover to ensure it’s correct for ease of use. I am happy to provide care in client’s homes and keep it clean as if it were my own place. The families I work with often comment I left their homes cleaner than when they left. I’m happy to help water plants, grab mail, take out the trash, bring in packages, and anything else that helps take care of your home while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and can easily keep your fur babies on their feeding, walking, and bathroom schedules.
“I appreciated Zach stepping in when we needed last minute trip coverage. He asked great questions and gave great communication on the daily for our fur babies. Thank you, Zach! I appreciate you”

“Izzy was great - communicative and reliable, everything went really smoothly! I know our kitties were in great hands. I will 100% rebook with Izzy and would recommend her to anyone!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hygiene
Vicki was very sweet towards our 2 cats. I was very nervous about leaving them behind as it was the first time they’ve been alone for that long, and alone with a stranger, but Vicki was very kind and gentle with the cats and was patient. She even got my very anti social kitty to come out. I also loved the updates she gave and all of the photos of my kitties she sent. I highly recommend Vicki if you want a good pet sitter :)

Chloe took incredible care of our cats while we were away, and honestly went above and beyond. Our cats aren’t the most social creatures, but they warmed up to her quickly — which tells you everything you need to know. She kept their routines steady, sent thoughtful updates, and made the whole experience completely stress-free. It’s such a relief knowing someone this reliable and caring is watching over your pets. We came home to happy cats and a tidy house, and we couldn't be more grateful. Highly recommend Chloe to anyone who wants true peace of mind while they’re gone.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hygiene. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
