“We had a wonderful experience with Hannah as our dog sitter! She was communicative throughout (before and after as well) the stay and sent a great amount of photos and updates, which gave us peace of mind without being overwhelming. She also did a wonderful job navigating our older dog's needs while managing a small space with other, more challenging dogs that live in nearby apartments. Hannah also took wonderful care of our home and communicated throughout regarding anything she used or needed. We really appreciated the care and attention she gave our sweet pup, and we can't wait to book with her again!”

“Brittany housesat for our golden retriever, and she was wonderful! Excellent communication and photos daily while we were away! She also took great care of the house, and we came home to a happy pup!”

About: Animals make life so much better, and I’ve been looking after them as a side hustle for 20 years. I work full time at a library in Northern Colorado. I work full time Monday through Friday. Prefer to stay over with your animal so their routine isn’t disrupted. Love going for walks with dogs, and will make sure they get some exercise before and after my shift. I have extensive experience staying over with animals in people’s homes and am a respectful and cozy houseguest. Always happy to learn the particulars of each home.
“Patricia was absolutely amazing with my two boys. Bentley is quite the trouble maker and she was great with him. I loved the updates and pictures she sent me, it put my heart at ease. Very professional and great person. Came home to a clean house. I would definitely recommend her and I would have her watch my two boys again.”

“Karys is amazing! She stayed in our home with our pup for 5 days and gave us photos, videos and updates everyday. Our home was perfect and our dog happy! HIGHLY recommend ❤️”

“Emily was fantastic! She was communicative and sent photos of my dog while I was away. My dog can be a little particular about whom she decides to like, but within minutes of meeting Emily, she had gone over and sat next to her for pats. Emily left the house neat and clean, too. I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her and will do so again!”

“Brooklyn is so kind and gentle, our dogs instantly felt comfortable with her, including our high anxiety guy who is very selective. She kept the house in perfect condition and sent updates a couple of times a day which was the perfect amount, not too much and not too infrequent. We're very pleased to say the least and hope she'll come back when we have future needs. ☺️❤️”

“Kenna was reliable, communicative, and gave us peace of mind from her very first visit. We appreciated the pix and updates knowing our cat and dog were in good hands. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and a house that was just as we left it. It’s clear that Kenna genuinely cares about the animals she looks after and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable pet sitter!”

“Claire’s calm demeanor was perfect for our anxious 9 year old rescue. She left our home clean and respected our specific wishes for our dog’s care. We will be using her again!”

About: I have been around dogs for over 20 years. I can connect with them in ways others cannot. I have never had an issue with a dog and people often tell me that dogs love me. I am currently looking to take on as much as I can! I am a runner so if your dog likes going on runs I can take them with me or if they like the slower pace of walking I can do that too. I’m a grad student so when I’m not in class I’m at home My roommate has a dog that stays in his kennel most of the day besides when he is let out and if there is another dog in the house that I am watching over they stay with me in my room and typically never leave my side
“Matthew checked in several times during the time I was away, a few times everyday, to communicate the well-being of my dogs. I received pictures and videos. I am pretty happy with the way the house was left.”

“Nicole was fantastic! It was our first vacation in a long time where we didn’t return to sick dogs or accidents in the house. She is easy to communicate with and we will absolutely use her again.”

“Holley was amazing! She watched our dogs and home for 10 days and did an awesome job. Great communication, and left our house super clean. Our puppies were happy as well. I would absolutely work with Holley again, highly recommend her!”

“Robin was phenomenal and made us feel at ease while we were out of town. Our pup was completely comfortable with her, and we came home to a spotless house. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again if/when she's available!”

“Ali’s communication is top notch! She responds in a timely manner, is very friendly, and you can tell she takes it seriously. I’m so happy we found her to watch our 4 dogs while we had to stay in the hospital for a week. After our meet and greet we knew we could have time away from home without stressing if everything was getting done. She provided daily updates and pictures, our dogs clearly enjoyed her company. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Absolute peace of mind while traveling! She stayed at our house day and night, making sure Remi got plenty of walks and proper care. She handled our 125 gallon Discus fish tank like a pro, took great care of the plants, and kept the house looking exactly as we left it. Highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive sitter. We hope to hire her again soon!"”

About: I provide comforting care when you can't take your fur babies with you. I give peace of mind so you know your pet is having a positive experience with me and that your home is safe and secure. I understand that each pet is different and has routines and needs of care which I will always follow. Having had pets of my own, I appreciate the individuality of each animal and feel confident in giving them the space they need or the affection they desire. From me they will always get what they need and feel cared for. I have had the opportunity to care for large and small dogs, a cat who people were afraid of but who eventually happily coexisted with me. I work full time as a remote worker so I can provide in home pet first care with ease. My work and schedule is flexible, which allows for pet care to be added into my day with little disruption to me or the pet. When I am with a pet in their home, their routine and needs come first. Besides the instructions or guidance I am given about the pet, I observe and engage with the pet to learn about them and make them comfortable and happy while I am in their home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Berthoud walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Berthoud maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Berthoud choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
