Safety, trust & environment
I believe pets are happiest when they can maintain their normal routine, so my goal is always to provide care that feels familiar, safe, and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow their established schedule for meals, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, and bedtime. I take the time to learn each pet's personality, preferences, and any special needs so I can provide individualized care. I pay close attention to behavior and health, and I will communicate promptly if I notice anything unusual. During walks and outdoor time, safety is my top priority. I use secure leash-handling practices, avoid unsafe situations, and make sure pets have appropriate exercise and enrichment based on their age, energy level, and comfort. I also understand that being away from their owners can be stressful for some pets, so I provide plenty of companionship, affection, and patience while respecting each animal's boundaries. You can expect regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away. I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect that I would want for my own.
Information Gwen G. would like to know about your pet
Any issues with biting or aggression? If a dog, how do they respond to other dogs on walks? Should I keep them away from other dogs, even if through a barrier like a fence? Are they social or more reserved? Anywhere that they do not like to be petted? Commands they know?
A typical day
I tailor activities to each pet's age, energy level, and personality. Some dogs love fetch, tug, or longer walks, while others enjoy enrichment activities that engage their sense of smell and natural instincts. Through my volunteer work in animal behavior and enrichment, I've learned that mental stimulation can be just as important as physical exercise. Scent games, treat searches, and "sniffari" walks can be a great way to keep dogs happy, engaged, and tired out. My goal is always to provide safe, fun, individualized care that matches each pet's needs.

Pet care experience
Hi! I'm an experienced pet sitter, dog walker, and animal lover based in Northern Colorado. I've been caring for animals for most of my life and have experience with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities. Over the past year, I've completed numerous pet sitting and dog walking jobs through Rover and privately, caring for everything from energetic puppies to senior pets who need extra patience and attention. In addition to pet sitting, I volunteer with NoCo Humane in the Behavior and Enrichment Department, where I work directly with both dogs and cats. This experience has helped me become comfortable reading animal body language, building trust with shy pets, and supporting animals with different temperaments and needs. I currently have a rescued named Millie, and I have firsthand experience caring for senior dogs, administering medications, monitoring health concerns, and recognizing when veterinary care may be needed. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. When caring for your pets, I aim to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. Whether that means walks, playtime, enrichment activities, cuddle sessions, medication administration, or simply providing companionship, I'm happy to tailor my care to your pet's individual needs. I have a flexible schedule and can often accommodate short-notice requests. For house sitting, I can stay overnight and provide regular potty breaks, exercise, meals, medications, and plenty of attention. I'm always happy to discuss your pet's specific needs during our meet and greet. I believe communication is one of the most important parts of pet care, so you can expect regular updates, photos, and prompt responses throughout your booking. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Reviews

Gwen is amazing!! She took great care of our Beatrice. She also has experience with bully breeds. She kept us updated on Bea as well as the house. We would definitely recommend her to others.

This was our second time having Gwen watch our dogs. She always takes great care of them, and we feel very comfortable leaving them in her care. One of our dogs needed to be taken to the vet while we were gone.. Gwen was wonderful and took him in for us, kept us updated throughout the vet visit, and helped administer meds following the appointment. She always sends lots of pictures and updates as well. She is a super reliable and trustworthy sitter!

Gwen was so helpful watching my pups! She did an amazing job communicating and I never had to worry about how my dogs were doing. Would recommend!

Gwen took great care of our two dogs while we were out of state. She was very attentive to their needs and helped us navigate a few health issues that popped up with them while we were gone. She also took them out on lots of walks, which was very much appreciated (this wasn’t a requirement as our dogs are not trained well and pull a lot on walks). Her communication was great throughout the whole process, and she was very flexible with us when our plans changed last minute. We had zero concerns leaving our pups in her care for over a week. She went above and beyond, and I’d highly recommend her pet sitting services!
