About: I can't remember a time when I did not have a pet in my life. Probably because there never was such a time! Mostly dogs, but, I have also been a proud cat owner. I have cared for friends' pets, and I understand that leaving your fur baby with someone requires trust. For several decades, I have chosen to adopt my animals from shelters. I can tell you that it has taught me to appreciate that every animal is different, with their own personality, quirks, routines, and needs. Our pets are part of our family. And, yes, they make mistakes at times, create messes, get into places they shouldn't. They're only human, after all! About: I've been walking dogs and visiting and sitting with them in owners' homes for Rover for about eight months. During this time, I've had many highly-satisfied customers, both recurring and one-time. I have cared for a wide range of dogs -- both the large and tough ones, like a massive greyhound, an uncharacteristically aggressive male lab, and a German shepherd/Husky cross -- and the small and vulnerable ones -- a 20-year-old miniature requiring loving TLC, and a fragile Bichon Frise. Prior to Rover, I've taken care of two family dogs who became family members, one of which I rescued from a neglectful owner. I was a hands-on dad to my son (now grown), got him the care he needed to survive and thrive as a preemie, and as a single parent knew well how to feed and change him and care for him when he was sick. As a senior, I have the experience and "seasoning" to know what's important, whether it's an infant or child or a family dog or a person with a disability or a senior like myself. So I know how to see to it that the one in my care is well cared for, happy, and loved. Since the condo development where my wife and I live doesn't allow dogs, I take special pleasure in spending time with them at every opportunity. About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and truly can’t imagine life without them. As a lifelong dog lover, I care for every pup as if they were my own. I just moved back home from Nashville, TN. Where I was consistently dog sitting in my apartment for the 4 1/2 years living there. Previously before that, I was doing it in my Hoboken apartment for 3 years. We do have a family dog, a border collie / blue heeler, Luna who is 11 years old. She is used to being around other dogs, as we previously had a husky lab as well before she passed away. Luna tends to keep to herself and only cares about her frisbee. I have extensive experience caring for dogs with special needs, including blind, deaf, and diabetic dogs and also senior dogs. Alexandra was amazing with our dog, Otis. She provided constant care for him, and gave us many updates while we were away. Kahmayah took my request last minute and literally saved my vacation as I would not have been able to go without her. I received pictures and videos daily and my pets were so happy and relaxed. We have 2 German Shepards one working line and young that has a lot of energy and 6 year old large showline male who needs a moment to settle before being introduced. She listened to how we help him feel comfortable and within moments he was relaxed around her. She asks great questions to be sure your pets have everything they need. We also have a 15 yr old cat and she was great at spending quality time with him as well. She is an excellent communicator, gets back to you promptly, took amazing care of our home while we were out.
