About: I've been pet sitting/dog walking for friends and neighbors since high school. In addition I have worked at a doggy daycare, where I cared for dogs as little as chihuahuas to large German shepherds. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. My priority is aways to ensure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while their owner is away. I have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to provide reliable and consistent care whenever you need it. I'm available for walks and drop-in visits throughout the day, including morning, afternoons and evenings. Your pets safety and comfort are always my top priority! I strive to make sure all animals in my care receive the highest level of care possible and treat them as if they were my own. I am attentive on walks and always try to make sure they are safe and happy at all times.
“andrea was great! she took her time to care for my two cats. they loved her immediately. she was super responsive and made my partner and i feel comfortable trusting her. would definitely rebook in the future!”

About: I spend time with dogs at my job on a daily. Though I work in a shoe store, I walk them and make sure they are being fed and loved properly. I also make sure they don’t chew the shoes we sell :D I am working part time so I hope to take care of your pets on the weekend and on some week days but I will be sure to make this as purposeful as it is to have a pet; another member of the family. My house is extremely spacious as it barely has rooms connected through doors, but rather wide entrances, not to mention a long downstairs basement newly renovated perfect for your pet to have an adventure in. And of course a comfortable back and front yard for your pet to roam freely but looked over at all times.
“Kathryn was eager to meet my boys prior to our trip. This puts everyone at ease. It’s something I look for when choosing a new pet care provider. Kathryn followed all my instructions and was communicative all during our trip. My boys were happy and content when we got home.”

“Camila was great with Tilly! She showed up on time and took awesome care of her. When I got home, Tilly was super calm and happy, so I know she was in good hands. I’ll definitely be using Camila again. Highly recommend!”

“Scarlett is wonderful! We will continue to trust her with our boy as long as she continues to dog sit! She is reliable, attentive & our dog absolutely loves her. She has also helped us when we’ve needed help at the last minute and we are so appreciative!”

About: I grew up with a dog that we lost at age 15, then I adopted a senior dog who I had for five years afterward. He had a variety of health issues I had to administer medication for, including epilepsy and arthritis. In March of 2024, I adopted a puppy, so I now have experience with younger dogs as well. I allow drop off/pickup between 8AM and 8PM. I work from home full time, M-F from 9AM - 6PM. I can take your dog out to pee numerous times throughout the day and can take them on longer walks 1-2 times per day, weather permitting. I only board dogs who are fully house trained and can be left alone for a few hours at a time as I do not offer constant care. Please bring all of your dog’s supplies as I live in an apartment and don’t have extras: food, bed, treats, bowls, toys, chews/enrichment, leash and collar, and anything else you want to send them with to feel comfortable. I have poop bags and some toys they can share with my dog. I can only accept bookings with dogs who are friendly with others, as I have a dog of my own. If they do not seem comfortable together I have a baby gate I can use to separate them. My dog stays in her crate whenever I leave my home. Please note that I do not let dogs I am sitting sleep in my bedroom so they will be sleeping by themselves in whatever bed or crate you provide in my living room.
About: I have about 20 years of experience caring for dogs of different ages, breeds, backgrounds, and temperaments, including strays, purebreds, puppies, senior dogs, working breeds, and dogs in multi-pet households. I have experience with basic training, puppy care, medication, special diets, enrichment activities, structured routines, and dogs who need a little extra patience or attention. I’m also comfortable caring for reactive dogs and understand how important consistency, awareness, and following a pet parent’s established routine can be. I’m happy to work with dogs of all life stages and always try to provide the same attentive, dependable care I would want for my own. I’m very flexible and happy to work around your schedule. This is because I prefer to focus on only a couple of clients at a time to ensure that all pets in my care are receiving the absolute best support and attention I can provide. When caring for pets in someone else’s home, I understand that I’m being trusted with both a beloved animal and someone’s personal space. I’m respectful of your home, belongings, routines, and boundaries, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you provide. That can include walking your dog along a preferred route, ensuring your cat has their favorite toy or treat, keeping to established feeding and exercise schedules, or taking them on approved outings such as a park visit or another familiar activity. My goal is to keep your pet’s routine as comfortable and consistent as possible while giving you peace of mind that both your pet and your home are being treated with care.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Bergenfield
We made last-minute plans and were worried about finding pet care until we met Rachel! Her prompt reply to our inquiry and willingness to meet with us before the trip put us completely at ease—we left for the weekend feeling confident our pets were in great hands. With each drop-in, Rachel sent detailed, thoughtful messages and photos, so there was never a doubt about how well cared for our two dogs and cat were. She was precise, professional, and clearly took the time to understand each of our animals' personalities and needs. Communication was clear and consistent throughout, and it was obvious Rachel genuinely cared. We'd recommend her without hesitation and will absolutely book her again.

Amanda went above & beyond during her visit with Lucy. I couldn’t have asked for a better drop in. She was attentive to not only Lucy, but also the entire apartment letting me know if things looked out of place. I can tell Lucy was cared for & played with throughout the drop in. Will book again!!!

Christine was fantastic taking care of Minino while we were away! She came by daily to feed him and always sent us pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was happy and well looked after. Highly recommend her for anyone needing a reliable, attentive cat sitter.

Kathryn was eager to meet my boys prior to our trip. This puts everyone at ease. It’s something I look for when choosing a new pet care provider. Kathryn followed all my instructions and was communicative all during our trip. My boys were happy and content when we got home.

Sara is a supreme cat sitter and you can trust her with your pets. She was flexible when we had a family emergency and is always reliable to make sure my kitties are well. Even my shy kitty who doesn’t like most people will excitedly greet her. Highly recommended and we will be booking her again and again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bergenfield. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
