Bradley was a true lifesaver, stepping in and walking my 84lb Goldendoodle 2x a day for 6 days. I broke my dominate arm and needless to say, quite helpless. Bradley is the consummate professional, always on time, documenting every walk with a photo and summary. Cookie always looked forward to his arrival and finally, at the age of 13, learned the meaning of a schedule! Dog owners couldn’t find anyone more trustworthy than Bradley.

About: I've had dogs ever since I was 10, but my experience with them goes far beyond that. When I was a little kid, before I ever had a dog, I would go to this read with a dog program called "Paws to Read." I would spend countless hours reading to the dogs and befriending them, along with a cat or two here and there. When I was 10, I got my first dog, a husky, and gave him a wonderful life. He had quite a few medical issues and behaved older for his age because of it, so I know how to provide senior pet care. He has since passed, but my two current dogs, one pitbull and one pitsky, remind me every day how important pets are to me. I've had them both for eight years now, during which we've taken numerous car rides, walks, enjoyed outside and inside playtime, movie nights, and anything a dog could dream of. Now, while I've never had a cat because of the majority of my family being allergic, I never turn away from a cat. I'm a regular at the Gem City Catfe, where I play with the cats often and have gone so often that they are comfortable with me. I keep cat and dog treats on me in case I come across a stray, because all cats and dogs deserve to feel some love. I've also dog-sat and house-sat for a few friends before, so I know how to handle situations like pets not getting along, bathroom accidents, and being a bit of a picky eater. Currently, I am a full time student and work full time at UDRI (UD's Research Institute) from 8:30am - 3:30am. During the summer I won't be taking any in person classes, just two online. But when I return to UD for my final year, I will be taking classes again and may be slightly more limited. When it comes to my pets and caring for clients pets, the comfort of the pet is most important to me. Personally, my two dogs don't get along with each other very well, so they typically have to be separated. Even so, I always make sure to treat them both equally and give them lots of love! If I take one for a car ride and ice cream, I bring ice cream back for the other and take the other for a car ride later that week. If my client has dogs similar to mine, who need to be separated, I would be sure to treat them equally and split my time with them according to my client's requests. Given single-pet households, I'd spend a lot of my time with them! In my downtime, I'd make sure to sit with them while I work on coursework. I'd be sure to take them on walks and go for potty breaks. And of course I'd make sure we get a lot of play time in and lots of love!

I felt so comfortable, from a distance. Pictures , photos , truly amazing. My girl is not just my pet but next generation of service dogs. My dog is my family and I would recommend her any time!

About: **My day job as a nanny is ending, as the family I work for is moving away at the end of March, so as of April I will have way more availability for pet sitting! I'm looking to fill up my schedule with as many pet sitting gigs as possible including overnight stays and drop-ins at any hour, so don't hesitate to reach out! :) ** Hi! I'm Susie. I've been pet sitting for six years, including overnights and drop-ins. I am a nanny with many years of childcare experience. I also have always loved both dogs and cats, and not owning any of my own gives me the freedom to spend time with different animals as much as I want. :) I have a fun and engaging personality and a background in theatre and acting which I think works great for both kids and fur babies! I will always make sure your fur child is well-cared for, and I can provide references that can attest to this! :) **My day job as a nanny is ending, as the family I work for is moving away at the end of March, so as of April I will have way more availability for pet sitting! About: I have been sitting houses, dogs and cats for several years for the majority of my own independently gained clients. While working as a housekeeper, I became the go-to sitter for many of them. Even after quitting housekeeping, I have stayed on as their trusted sitter. I have sat for senior cats and dogs alike, foster dogs, special needs dogs, dogs with behavioral issues and am familiar with the care of horses and chickens as well. With both both a cat and dog myself and having raised two litters of pups, I offer a wide variety of knowledge and expertise. I’m known to give my own pets an insane amount of scratches, massages, baby talk and car rides for doggy ice cream from Ritters, all while singing “you are my sunshine.” This is the same kind of lovins you can expect for your pets to receive, as I am a firm and proud believer that I ought to treat them as I would my very own! Having a huge heart for animals, I trust their instincts and strive to be as in tune with them as possible. They truly are so sensitive to what’s going on around them and I humbly love learning from each animal, their outlook on life and their own experiences. I have a lot of flexibility within my schedule as I only work 3 days each week as an esthetician and esthetics instructor. I don’t mind early mornings, and strive to keep a consistent routine for your pet. With no children of my own, I am able to dedicate all of nurturing energy to the world’s fur babies! I will ALWAYS send check in photos each day I come, keep things clean and organized, observe their behavior, and stay as close to their normal routine as possible.

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
