“Super easy to work with and the dogs were excited each time he came over to walk them. By the end of the Walk they were always tired and ready to take a nap when they came back to the house. A great help for me when I was not able to do walking for a little while. Will definitely use him again”

About: I’ve always been a dog lover and give my sweet pup Attie all the love in the world. I grew up with dachshunds and currently have a 8–year-old mixed breed, who we adopted. My husband and I trained Attie with positive reinforcement to ensure her obedience without taking away from her fun-loving spirit. I love meeting and bonding with the dogs I sit, and I would love to open my home to your pets. My availability during the summer months is flexible. I am a full-time teacher, so during the school year, my availability is limited, but I am willing to work with clients to figure out the best plan that will work for you and your dog. Dogs must be crate-trained. I work full-time as a teacher, so Monday-Friday, pups need to be crated during the day for up to 8 hours while I’m at work. After work, I can provide walks and play. On the weekends, I’m open. I have a fenced yard and Attie, who loves meeting new dogs and making new friends. Dogs will need to be crated when no one is home and at night if not house trained.
“She was excellent. Showed up on time, gave our dogs extra special treatment and gave them four days of great interaction while we were traveling from out of town. Can not recommend her enough.”

“Valerie has done a terrific job walking my dog Chloe. She sends photos during the walk and Chloe is very excited to see her when she arrives. I highly recommend her services.”

About: Hi there! My name is Alyssa. I absolutely love animals and I would be so excited to help you care for your fur babies. I have always had a soft spot for animals. My husband and I have rescued five cats that were in need of a loving home. My passion is to take care of any animal I can help. Frequently, I will find stray animals and make sure to have shelter, food, and water available for them and try to care for them as my own. Throughout my life, I have always lived in a household with cats and dogs. I can’t wait to meet your furry loved ones!🐾 I am available to check in on your pets anytime during the week and the weekends. Just let me know how often you would need me to stop by. I will always make sure to be respectful of a clients home and treat their animals the way I would want mine treated. I will always stay kind and caring toward your animals. I will always respect house rules and make sure I have taken care of the pets to the best of my ability.
“Liesa was sooo great with Echo! I had wonderful updates and the cutest pictures of their walk! I am so thankful I found someone to help take amazing care of my boy while I’m at work! Thank you Liesa!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals since I was a child. We have chickens/ducks, a snake, cats and dogs currently but have also had rabbits if you’re looking for someone with experience outside the norm. I can administer oral medications if necessary. I stay home with my kids so I’m available most of the day, early mornings and evenings so adding in extra pets is no problem at all. I have a fully fenced back yard and two dogs to keep yours company. I also have an extra large crate if requested to make your dog feel more comfortable.
“Bradley did a couple visits with brief walks with my dog Freckles. He did a meet and greet with Freckles and I before hand which was very helpful. He was professional, used the app to send pictures, and was very prompt with responses! I would highly recommend Bradley to anyone, and am happy to know I have someone I trust for any future needs for Freckles!”

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember! I currently have two dachshunds and am also the designated sitter for three cats who belong to my brothers, so I have a love for both! I’ve grown up with pets my whole life and love surrounding myself with them. I’ve had lots of experience sitting for pets, ranging from German shepherds to kittens. I have lots of experience working with puppies and senior dogs. I am currently at home full time for the rest of the summer before I start my first year at law school this fall! I wanted to have a relaxing and fun next couple of months before starting possibly the hardest journey of my life, and I thought no better way to do that then spend time with animals. I’m always out walking, especially during the summer and would love to have a cute furry friend to accompany me! Since I am home full time, I am very flexible and have the ability to provide lots of love and care toward your pets. I’ve just recently finished up my internship, so I am available most weekdays. Mornings and early afternoons work best for me, but I am flexible! I always make sure my pets feel loved and cared for. My parents travel a lot and rely on me to be with the dogs 24/7 which I gladly do. I make sure to take them on walks (long enough that their little legs can handle). I’ve realized that a lot more dogs than expected have separation anxiety, so I always try to be as present as possible for them! The same applies for cats. I understand cats can vary when it comes to personality and temperament, and that has helped me understand the best approaches for them and how to interact in a way that is respectful to them.
About: I've had dogs ever since I was 10, but my experience with them goes far beyond that. When I was a little kid, before I ever had a dog, I would go to this read with a dog program called "Paws to Read." I would spend countless hours reading to the dogs and befriending them, along with a cat or two here and there. When I was 10, I got my first dog, a husky, and gave him a wonderful life. He had quite a few medical issues and behaved older for his age because of it, so I know how to provide senior pet care. He has since passed, but my two current dogs, one pitbull and one pitsky, remind me every day how important pets are to me. I've had them both for eight years now, during which we've taken numerous car rides, walks, enjoyed outside and inside playtime, movie nights, and anything a dog could dream of. Now, while I've never had a cat because of the majority of my family being allergic, I never turn away from a cat. I'm a regular at the Gem City Catfe, where I play with the cats often and have gone so often that they are comfortable with me. I keep cat and dog treats on me in case I come across a stray, because all cats and dogs deserve to feel some love. I've also dog-sat and house-sat for a few friends before, so I know how to handle situations like pets not getting along, bathroom accidents, and being a bit of a picky eater. Currently, I am a full time student and work full time at UDRI (UD's Research Institute) from 8:30am - 3:30am. During the summer I won't be taking any in person classes, just two online. But when I return to UD for my final year, I will be taking classes again and may be slightly more limited. When it comes to my pets and caring for clients pets, the comfort of the pet is most important to me. Personally, my two dogs don't get along with each other very well, so they typically have to be separated. Even so, I always make sure to treat them both equally and give them lots of love! If I take one for a car ride and ice cream, I bring ice cream back for the other and take the other for a car ride later that week. If my client has dogs similar to mine, who need to be separated, I would be sure to treat them equally and split my time with them according to my client's requests. Given single-pet households, I'd spend a lot of my time with them! In my downtime, I'd make sure to sit with them while I work on coursework. I'd be sure to take them on walks and go for potty breaks. And of course I'd make sure we get a lot of play time in and lots of love!
About: I grew up around dogs and I have experience in pet sitting for family and friends. I also have experience in training puppies and senior care. I am currently working part-time and I set my own schedule. I will have plenty of time to spend with your pet! I also love being outdoors and hiking with dogs I have a fenced yard with an indoor and outdoor security system. I prioritize safety and security. I also have an all season room I have used for temporary housing (strays and fosters).

Beth did a fantastic job. I can't even express ebough about what a great job she did and how much my dog loved her. Beth is very trustworthy, reliable and really knows a lot about dogs. My dog loved her and would get so exited when Beth would arrive to take him on a walk. Will definitely be calling her again the next time I go on vacation.

Super easy to work with and the dogs were excited each time he came over to walk them. By the end of the Walk they were always tired and ready to take a nap when they came back to the house. A great help for me when I was not able to do walking for a little while. Will definitely use him again

- 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
