“OMG, I cannot say enough positive things about Karen. We've only had her watch our dogs twice, but I'm already looking to have Karen watch my fur babies again. She instantly makes me feel at ease when it comes to leaving my pups in her hands. She sends tons of pictures and keeps me updated on what they are up to. Most recently, she made an official dog play area for them. Seriously, it's nicer than the play areas at Petsmart. I know my pups had a great time spending time with Karen and the other dogs.”
“Niella’s family and her two dogs wore our high-energy pup out, she was schlumped for two days after we picked her up! Niella gave us updates throughout the 4-day stay and was very responsive. We will definitely be reaching out to her next time we need a sitter!”

“There is a reason I always call on Katherine when I need someone to watch my fur baby; she always does an excellent job and my dog Onyx likes going to her place. She spoils him! ❤️”

“We will definitely use Ryan again. He and his son were great with our dogs, Beefy and Otis. He was very attentive to them and kept in touch with us often. I felt that I could relax knowing that Ryan was watching our dogs.”

“Pietro was absolutely amazing!! Maple is nervous around men but she was so comfortable with him. He sent plenty of pictures and videos and even kept her a few hours longer to help me out since I broke my leg. Would definitely recommend!!”

“What to thank Emily C. for watching our little puppy schnauzer. She send pictures and videos every day and keep us updated. We were lucky to find her on Rover. Com we will definitely use her again. She Very responsible person who cares about your pet treats like they're her own thanks again for watching our Bella for”

“Nathan had a blast! Because normally he gets scared going with strangers but the second day he didn’t even bother to look back. They are amazing with Nathan and great with communicating about him as well.”

About: My partner Anthony and I have extensive pet care experience through house sitting for several families, caring for a wide variety of dogs with different needs and personalities. We've looked after dogs who require a high level of care, including administering medication, following strict routines, and maintaining consistent feeding and walking schedules. We've also cared for easy-going pets who simply need companionship, exercise, and lots of love. We pride ourselves on being attentive, reliable, and adaptable, making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Erin works close to home, so she can come back and care for the dogs during the workday. I am available for boarding on weekends, depending on my schedule. We will make sure your dog is well taken care of! We have a fun, friendly, energetic dog to keep your dog company. We have a partially fenced-in yard, but I will never leave your dog outside alone. We only want to accept dogs that do well/get along with other dogs for the safety of our dog, Ozzy, and ourselves.
“Joe did a great job with my two dogs while we were out of town for a week. It was our first time leaving them in someone else’s home but we felt very comfortable and they were well taken care of! Will absolutely use Joe again in the future!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life since I was a teenager and I cannot imagine life without at least one. I have seen an uptick in requests from family and neighbors to take care of their furry friends when they are away and am always happy to do so. I am dedicated to making sure that their pets feel as comfortable in my home as they would in their own. I currently work from home the majority of the time and my wife works from home full time. Between the two of us we have enough flexibility to let dogs out in the yard to play or take them on short walks. I have a fenced in yard and a dog of my own, Smokey. If house-trained, I like to let dogs have the run of the house. I will crate dogs if I have to leave the house, at least until I get a sense of how they do on their own.
“I have a 12 yo German Shepard. He's an old man now. We were going away for New Years and our normal sitter wasn't available. I was apprehensive about leaving him with someone new. Karin was spectacular. She was attentive to his needs and careful about his 'age' related shortcomings. She has a pup of her own and a young son who loved my boy. Karin sent plenty of pics of him and was very communicative during his stay, asking questions to make sure behaviors were normal and making sure he'd tolerate the environment there! I don't know how many stays my old man has left in him, but Karin is definitely the person I'd want watching him when I leave!”

About: Animals have been a big part of my life since I was born. Our family had pets ranging from cats and dogs to pigs and horses. I worked at a family vet clinic that gave me skills with animals and knowledge of when they just aren't feeling right and contacts of who to call. I also have pet sat for friends and family for 8 years. Your pet will become my own when I pet sit. They will be spoiled and loved and I am very good at following directions exactly. I am blessed to have a very flexible schedule and am able to fit pet care in when needed. I myself currently have one cat and dog who I care for and spoil at home. However they have other family members who step up when I am needed elsewhere. I do not offer care in my home as I have a small apartment and pets of my own. However I make sure to build trust and create a safe and loving environment whenever I enter another's home. I make sure to get all the information I can about the pet I will be caring for and bring instructions with me to make sure I follow them exactly. I will do whatever is suggested to help the pet feel comfortable and loved and I have many tricks from experience with rowdy or shy animals to help if no instructions are offered. I have open communication with my families and love to send pictures and updates to help keep minds at ease.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience with Jacob. We were pretty nervous about leaving Reina since she’s a rescue and can be a little anxious around new people, but Jacob immediately put us at ease. He took the time to meet with us beforehand, asked thoughtful questions, and even took notes about Reina’s routine, what she likes, and her do’s and don’ts. It was obvious he genuinely cared about making her feel comfortable. While we were away, he kept us updated with plenty of pictures and communicated with us consistently, which made a huge difference and allowed us to actually relax on our trip. Every update showed us that Reina was being well cared for and getting lots of attention. If you’re looking for someone who is patient, communicative, and truly cares about your dog, we highly recommend Jacob. We’ll absolutely be booking with him again. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I could remember. They’ve always held a special place in my heart. I offer flexibility like no other, as I work from home for my day job. Let me treat your animals the way i’d treat mine, nothing but love and respect! I currently work a hybrid schedule. Some days i’m in the office until 4pm, monday and fridays I work from home, leaving me tons of time to look after your animals! Weekends are typically free. I’m also very flexible on what I offer. You need a house sitter for a getaway weekend? I’m your guy! You need a drop in for bathroom break/walk during the week, I’m your guy! I have a fully fenced in backyard with a very good amount of space. I have 2 cats that love all animals. If i’m coming to your home, it will be treated with the same respect and standards I have for my own. Very clean, safe, and trustworthy!

“Myra was great with our fur babies. She took excellent care of them while we were on vacation. We received updates and pictures letting us know they were happy and in good hands. I would definitely recommend using her. And we will be using her the next time we go on vacation.”

“Nate and Whitney were one of the greatest first experiences to have using the rover app they took such good care of us and constantly gave us updates as to anything that was going on. They will definitely be my first choice the next time I use the service 10 out of 10.”

“Ashlee greeted our dog first at a “meet and greet” at a local park and our pup was calm and comfortable. During our trip, Ashlee updated us on how her first 24 hours went and how she enjoyed playing with the other dogs. On our way back, approaching the Dayton area, she was kind enough to give Pippa a bath. Ashley’s provided kind, observant care to our young dog while we saw family out of state and we couldn’t be more pleased.”

Vanessa was wonderful with my dog Maple. She is so attentive, she gave frequent updates, she took her on walks, and she is super sweet! Maple is always hesitant at new places but warmed up so quickly and was so happy when I picked her up. Would absolutely book again!

She was absolutely awesome—couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Tons of walks, constant pictures and updates, and it genuinely felt like my dog was treated as part of her family rather than just a client. You can tell she really cares, and that peace of mind is everything when you’re away. I’d trust her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who goes above and beyond.

We were very pleased with Laklyn taking care of Shelby! They showed care and love for her and seemed to enjoy having her. Their place is clean and the yard is great! We appreciated the chance to do a meet & greet beforehand and felt like they listened well about Shelby. We would definitely recommend Laklyn and intend to rebook with her again when needed.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
