“Daniela took extra steps to ensure my pets were comfortable and cared for. I frequently feel nervous leaving my pets with someone new, but she was amazing with communication and it eased my mind knowing she was there to care for them. I would use Daniela in the future!!”

“I just moved to South Carolina a month ago and had to be away a couple of days this past weekend. I was quite anxious having to find someone to stay in my home and take care of my sweet, Nala. She is older, is a rescue, is a large dog, and the move was alot for her. I arranged a meet with Jerry and I was at ease right away; more importantly, Nala was at ease right away. I think dogs sense immediately if a person is a good fit or not. The day I had to leave, Jerry showed up on time (a bit early, actually, which I truly appreciated) and Nala was very excited to see him. Jerry sent many pictures and texts about how things were going over the two days, let me know when he had to leave for awhile and communicated when he was back. Nala needs alot of love and Jerry was attentive and very willing to give affection to her. The stay could not have gone better. Jerry was also very respective of my home and took good care of everything while I was gone. I highly recommend Jerry and am grateful I found him on Rover.”

“We really appreciated Grace house sitting for us. She took great care of everyone, gave us regular updates, and took care of some additional things for our house as well. We would definitely love the opportunity to work with her again, and would highly recommend her services for house sitting. Thank you Grace!”

About: I'm the one on the floor at parties petting your pet instead of mingling with guests. I'm very reliable and empathetic, and genuinely just love all animals. My husband will not let me adopt anymore animals, so I decided to pet sit to get my fix! I work from home 50%, then in the field 50% for my job. I have flexibility to doing some walking, feeding, etc. Visiting/caring for your pet would be a joy boost to my day! We start early. We feed all animals and let our dog, Birdie, out. I walk her 3 miles a day on most days (She's a GSP, iykyk!). I work from home mostly, so I'm in and out. We have a large fenced in yard for Birdie that she loves. We throw her balls. When I'm doing admin work at my desk, I usually have a cat curled up in my lap (or close by).
“George fell in love with Sara. She came to meet and great a couple times for us to get to know her and for George to get to know her as well. We got up dates and pictures a couple times a day as to how George was adjusting as he has never been left alone before. To have him in his own environment with all "his" things to keep him company was great! WE left instructions for Sara as to what when and where he ate, his likes and dislikes, his likes and what not! He was such a happy boy when we got home. All thanks to Sara treating him like her own. She stayed at our home to keep him company as well which, probably made George feel much safer. Came home to a clean house, she treated it like it was her own! Very much appreciated! Thank you so much Sara! We couldn't have accomplished our trip without you!”

“Mehlayne made herself available last minute to take care of our little Lupo. She was punctual, kind, respectful, and communicative while we were away. She followed all of our care instructions etc. etc. It is obvious that Lupo was restless while we were gone (because he’s passed out now) but Mehlayne said she tried very hard to make Lupo comfortable. We would certainly consider hiring her in the future.”

“Shannon is awesome! She cared for our pup for two weeks. Sent photos and updates. Our house was spotless when we returned. She makes being away a bit easier. Highly recommend.”

“She is wonderful and took great care of my dog recovering from surgery♡ - you can tell she has a lot of experience and a great personality! I would 100% trust her with my pets again!”

About: I've had dogs pretty much my whole life. I dog sit frequently for neighbors as well. I can house train puppies and can also give medication. (pills, eye drops, ear drops, etc.) I am currently a night shift nurse at Greenville Memorial looking to make some extra cash. I have a set patterned schedule that I rarely deviate from. I am not available for house sitting over nights I am working but am available all other nights! I take all doggies on frequent walks and give lots of play time. I also like to run, so if you have an energetic dog who needs lots of exercise I can certainly provide that. All dogs get lots of play time, attention, and snuggles!
“Mia is THE BEST of THE BEST!!!! I would give her a million stars if I could! She took the best care of my babies and you could tell they really loved her! I would recommend her to anybody and everybody! Thank you, Mia for taking care of my babies!”

“Kim & Bill took great care of Sundance for me. I would certainly recommend them to other dog owners! Sundance made friends with their cat and had adventures in Mr. Bill’s truck! Great dog sitters”

“Justin was great! He watched our two boys on back to back weekends. He was a great communicator and kept us updated and threw in some cute pictures too! Seemed liked our boys were comfortable with him and as a pet parent that is all we could ask for!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Bells Crossroads is $50

We needed an all day sitter last minute. Miriam was so sweet and came over the meet the dogs ahead of time. And then the day of, she picked them up and brought them home. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bells Crossroads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bells Crossroads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bells Crossroads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
