“Sarah is a great communicator! Pictures and messages every day. Our dog has severe anxiety and takes meds 4 times a day. Sarah was attentive to all of Dahlia’s needs. I cannot adequately express in words how grateful I am for Sarah and her care for our dog.”

“Daniela took extra steps to ensure my pets were comfortable and cared for. I frequently feel nervous leaving my pets with someone new, but she was amazing with communication and it eased my mind knowing she was there to care for them. I would use Daniela in the future!!”

“If they had 10 stars, I'd give Grace that! She was the BEST house & pet sitter ever!! The pups loved her, and she clearly knew how to handle my Goldens... especially my rowdy younger one. She took care of absolutely everything on our very long list of "to dos", so that when we came home it felt like we were coming into a brand new house. She texted me daily with updates and photos, and on her last day even explained that she likes to "leave places better than [she] found them or with no trace"! So true!! We will definitely use her again the next time we go out of town. She was absolutely perfect!”

“Christine was very conscientious and kind when caring for our 8 yr old pup. She sent photos every day and always responded to my text messages. I felt that she took her responsibility seriously and spent quality time with our dog. Our house was very tidy when we returned from being away. All in all, a positive experience!”

“Crystal did an amazing job watching my dog Lyla. I was very anxious about traveling away from my dog but Crystal made it so much easier with photos and videos. I can tell she truly loves animals and puts her all into caring for them. I’ll be rebooking her for future trips and trusting her with my fur babies and home!”

“Meg, was great she watched over our blind dog Ginger for the 10 days we were out of town. She sent us pictures of Ginger every day and kept us updated on how she was doing. She went above and beyond what we asked for and couldn't be more happy that we had her to watch over our baby.”

“Mehlayne did a wonderful job of caring for our sweet old Roxy. Our pup is 16 years old, has medical needs such as breathing treatments and medication administration and she even took Roxy to the Vet 4 times for routine fluid administration. While we are away for our 13 day vacation to Alaska, she sent daily pictures of our sweet little girl and messages regarding her day. Considering that Roxy had never been apart from us for more than 3 days, we were very pleased when we returned and she was in excellent health and eating very well, which could be a challenge at times. I could tell from the beginning that they were a good fit, especially since Melanie has a very elderly dog herself. We will be happy to book her again if needed and recommend her to anyone that is looking for someone to care for their pup.”

“Shannon is awesome! She cared for our pup for two weeks. Sent photos and updates. Our house was spotless when we returned. She makes being away a bit easier. Highly recommend.”

“Kim & Bill took great care of Sundance for me. I would certainly recommend them to other dog owners! Sundance made friends with their cat and had adventures in Mr. Bill’s truck! Great dog sitters”

“Mia is THE BEST of THE BEST!!!! I would give her a million stars if I could! She took the best care of my babies and you could tell they really loved her! I would recommend her to anybody and everybody! Thank you, Mia for taking care of my babies!”

“Julie was amazing! This was the very first time we've ever had a dog sitter, and she made sure our trip was worry-free! Our pups are not super friendly right off the bat, which was our greatest concern, but Julie handled it like the expert she is. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“Sesaria was great! She watched my two for two weeks this month, and both times when I got back, it looked like the house was untouched. She helped me out with giving some unexpected medications, and even watered my flowers! And the dogs both got a new toy, which was so sweet.”

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Noreen went above and beyond. She sent pictures of our fur babies and stayed in constant contact with us. We never once worried they weren’t in the best care we could find. She even put the sheets in the washer and started it and our home was clean and neat like we left it. We have had others that did not do the same. We will absolutely use Noreen again! If you are looking for a reliable, kind, animal loving person, Noreen should be your top choice!”

“Did an amazing job, took care of everything and communication was amazing. Chris also made sure to send check in’s which were good and always took them for long walks.”

“Lee was absolutely phenomenal. I have two very nervous dogs and he put them both at ease immediately. He kept my home clean and tidy during his stay and my dogs were very well cared for. I’d give Lee 10 stars if I could”

About: I'm the one on the floor at parties petting your pet instead of mingling with guests. I'm very reliable and empathetic, and genuinely just love all animals. My husband will not let me adopt anymore animals, so I decided to pet sit to get my fix! I work from home 50%, then in the field 50% for my job. I have flexibility to doing some walking, feeding, etc. Visiting/caring for your pet would be a joy boost to my day! We start early. We feed all animals and let our dog, Birdie, out. I walk her 3 miles a day on most days (She's a GSP, iykyk!). I work from home mostly, so I'm in and out. We have a large fenced in yard for Birdie that she loves. We throw her balls. When I'm doing admin work at my desk, I usually have a cat curled up in my lap (or close by).
“Jessie was amazing. She took such great care of all 3 of our dogs and sent updates/pictures every time she went over to care for our dogs. We will absolutely be using her again!”

Noreen was perfect! She did exactly as i asked for our sweet Zoey. It is very hard for us to leave her. But Noreen gave her lots of attention and comfort just as i asked. She was very respectful and clean in my home. I plan to use her going forward for our sweet Zoey. She sent me lots of pics & updates. Loved her!

Jenna went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were happy and taken care of while we were away! She's great at communicating and sent plenty of pictures to keep us updated! We absolutely loved having her watch our fur babies, and would 100% rebook with her for future travels!! Thank you Jenna!!!!

We needed an all day sitter last minute. Miriam was so sweet and came over the meet the dogs ahead of time. And then the day of, she picked them up and brought them home. We had a wedding that day and couldn't be home. It worked out great! I can't wait to utilize Miriam again. :) I highly recommend!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodland Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodland Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodland Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
