“We had a great experience with Morgan! She did an excellent job understanding Mollie’s specific needs and making sure she was safe and comfortable while we were away. Being out of the country for a week was a bit stressful, but her regular check-ins and updates really helped put our minds at ease. It was clear she genuinely cared about Mollie and took her responsibilities seriously. We’re very grateful for her care and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter.”

“Daniela took extra steps to ensure my pets were comfortable and cared for. I frequently feel nervous leaving my pets with someone new, but she was amazing with communication and it eased my mind knowing she was there to care for them. I would use Daniela in the future!!”

“Tracie is an angel, truly! My husband and I have never left our fur baby Kona with anyone other than immediate family and were really nervous. From our first communication Tracie went to work setting our minds at ease. She came to the house for a meet and greet on her own time before booking to ensure it would be a good fit all the way around and immediately I could tell it would be. She stayed with Kona for 3 nights - she sent us regular updates on how Kona was doing, she took her for tons of walks and gave Kona plenty of snuggles. Not only that but she couldn’t have been a more respectful house sitter- she brought her own food, cleaned up after herself and even washed the sheets and towels to ensure we wouldn’t have to do anything when we got home. As an anxious dog mom whose pup is her whole world, Tracie was an answer to my prayers!”

“Mehlayne made herself available last minute to take care of our little Lupo. She was punctual, kind, respectful, and communicative while we were away. She followed all of our care instructions etc. etc. It is obvious that Lupo was restless while we were gone (because he’s passed out now) but Mehlayne said she tried very hard to make Lupo comfortable. We would certainly consider hiring her in the future.”

“Justin was great! He watched our two boys on back to back weekends. He was a great communicator and kept us updated and threw in some cute pictures too! Seemed liked our boys were comfortable with him and as a pet parent that is all we could ask for!”

“Awesome job! My dog was well taken care of. Sarah followed instructions to watch my dog for 1 week. She took initiative when needed and sent me updates about my dog every day. Thank you!”

“Hannah stayed in our home while we were away for 5 days, and took wonderful care of our mini-Aussie, Hallie! This was our first time working with Hannah, and we feel so lucky to have met her. She provided updates several times each day, and always included photos and videos. It was clear there a lot of attention given to our dog through walks, play time and cuddles. Hannah would let us know when she would leave our dog for short periods and we could always tell Hallie was the priority when she got back (even playing frisbee with her in the back yard after dark). We are very grateful to Hannah, and we will definitely be contacting her when we arrange other trips. Thank you so much Hannah!!”

About: I’ve been caring for homes and animals for most of my life, and it’s something I genuinely love. I understand how important it is to know your space is safe and your pets are comfortable while you’re away. I have three cats of my own that I absolutely adore, so I’m especially attentive to routines, personalities, and the little things that keep pets happy and stress-free. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or simply keeping your home in order, I treat everything with the same care and respect I would my own. Note: I also worked at an animal shelter, where I picked up valuable knowledge, tips, and hands-on experience that I now bring into every pet I care for. I am not picky about specific instructions (I actually really enjoy getting as many details as possible about your pet and their routine) and I will do whatever you need me to do to take care of your animals, just let me know what care your animals need. I am willing to either spend the night and watch your home or just pop in and check on them throughout the day. Whatever you and your beebees prefer.
“Grace was awesome with my 3 animals and did an amazing job house sitting while I was away for a long weekend. She was extremely communicative and sent me pictures of them multiple times a day everyday that I was gone. They all loved her! I highly recommend her and will definitely book with her again.”

“Alexis was amazing! She kept me updated on my pup, she was respectful of our home and she even left us flowers and did the laundry!!! I would recommend her to everyone!!!! Thank you Alexis, we appreciate you so much!”

“Keyda was a tremendous dog sitter for Jynx. He is a senior dog and she took great care of him..I would highly recommend Keyda for anyone looking for a sitter. She left our house just as we would have done..”

“Truly the best! I always feel like I can enjoy my vacation more with Christopher staying with our pets. I know they will be safe and cuddled non-stop!! Couldn’t recommend enough.”

“Sally was great! This was our first time using a sitter that wasn't a family member or friend, so we were nervous, but Sally took great care of our pets (and our house for that matter)! She sent pictures every day, and it was nice to know they were in the comfort of their own home while we were gone. Will DEFINITELY book again!”

“Adalynn was amazing! She communicated with me the whole time she was with the girls and sent photos and videos every day. My girls loved her. We will definitely be rebooking her in the future and hope to have found our permanent dog sitter ?”

“Sandy was awesome! She was very thorough during the Meet & Greet with our pup so I knew he was going to be in good hands while away for a night. In addition to our pup loving her, she was very communicative with updates, pics, etc., which was anxiety-reducing. She took excellent care of the house and the dog! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!”

“Lauren was great with my 2 dogs. They can be a handful at times and she handled them great. She kept me informed and made sure to send me lots of pictures through out her stay. It was reliving to know they were in great hands while we were away. We will definitely be returning customers of hers.”

“Katherine is very sweet & kindhearted. Her quiet demeanor was exactly what our anxious dog (and wild puppy) needed. We needed a sitter last-minute & I’m so thankful Katherine made herself available.”

“Grace was so amazing and cared for our pups extremely well, we knew they were in great hands. She sent us lots of photos and made sure to send us constant updates. She was super intentional in asking all the best ways to care for our dogs. Will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Ana is absolutely a beautiful soul! She was perfect with my two dogs, patient caring and loving with them and that means everything to me. My Ruby has anxiety which worries me whenever I have to leave them, but she was fine, and happy I could see on the tons of pics Ana sent me. Ana has proved herself to be trustworthy and great with dogs. I had peace on my trip, so I will definitely be having Ana gain looking after my fur babies! Love that she is very communicative, and keeps you updated”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodberry
Mehlayne did a wonderful job of caring for our sweet old Roxy. Our pup is 16 years old, has medical needs such as breathing treatments and medication administration and she even took Roxy to the Vet 4 times for routine fluid administration. While we are away for our 13 day vacation to Alaska, she sent daily pictures of our sweet little girl and messages regarding her day. Considering that Roxy had never been apart from us for more than 3 days, we were very pleased when we returned and she was in excellent health and eating very well, which could be a challenge at times. I could tell from the beginning that they were a good fit, especially since Melanie has a very elderly dog herself. We will be happy to book her again if needed and recommend her to anyone that is looking for someone to care for their pup.

Anna did an excellent job taking care of my two large high maintenance, dog-reactive dogs. She tidied up after herself, provided frequent check ins and photos, and asked a lot of questions up front to make sure she was prepared to meet their complicated needs. Absolutely will book Anna again.

Kara took great care of my cats while I was away. She was communicative, reliable, and clearly made an effort to make my cats feel comfortable. I have a cat who can sometimes be a little shy with new people, but Kara was patient and attentive throughout the visit. I appreciated the updates and felt reassured knowing my pets were being looked after. I’d definitely recommend her to others looking for a dependable sitter.

Grace was such a great choice for my dogs. I was concerned because I have dogs who have only been watched by others on a few occasions. One in particular is VERY protective, and she will bark at people in our home (if we are there) for a LONG drawn out time before she somewhat settles. If I was a "sitter", I would probably move on. Grace was here for over 45 minutes on the consultation to make sure "Lily" would adjust to her, and we were all comfortable when she left. She went above and beyond during the stay. I gave her freedom to step away for periods in the morning and afternoon, but she stayed glued in our home. Grace is highly recommended!
Bethany was fantastic with my 13 year old sweet Lucy and 14 year old high maintenance Beckett. Bethany housesat for 10 nights and took care of the house and more importantly great care of the dogs. She brought her very sweet 95 lb German Shepherd, Frieda. Frieda just went with the flow and was very laid back. She was so nice to my dogs. Luckily, I have gained a friend as we have since gotten the dogs together at the park. I would definitely use Bethany again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodberry walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodberry maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodberry choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodberry. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
