“Cristina was able to accommodate us last minute to keep our doggie for the day. I got lots and lots of pictures as always and her family took such great care of LouLou for the day. Thank you Cristina.”

“Rosemary is always a great sitter. Mollie and Daphnie were actually wining to get out of the car when we drove up to her house. We got caught up and were late getting back and she was very understanding. Lucky yo have her.”

About: I’ve taken care of my family’s animals since a toddler. In high school I created a pet walking/sitting business in my area and have a cat of my own. You can rely on me for all things pets! As a remote freelancer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide care throughout the day. Being able to create my own schedule allows me to adjust my routine according to your babies needs. I’m naturally active, so daily walks and playtime are already part of my routine. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while sticking to their normal routine. As a freelancer I am able to adjust my schedule based on your pets needs/personality and I can provide your pet company as I work.
About: Hi, I'm Lydia, a passionate dog-mom who became a full-time professional dog nanny & certified dog trainer. I first discovered the need for trustworthy dog nannies as a single young professional working 60+ hours per week, who had just rescued a large, working-breed dog with separation anxiety. I found an amazing doggy-daycare back then, but after meeting my husband and moving to Greenville, it became apparent that I needed to become a stay-at-home-dog-mom for our two fur babies. There was simply nobody around us at the time who could give them the level of care and consistency they needed... except me. I ultimately started my business in order to give other dog moms and dog dads the very thing I needed at that time: peace of mind. If you're in need of routine, hands-on help from someone who understands 'difficult' dogs, cares about people, and knows the ropes of being a dog owner--you're in the right place. I've been blessed beyond belief to be known as "The Dog Nanny," or, "Aunt Lydia," by so many dogs & families over the years. It's a dream come true to get to play with puppies every single day. Dog-Nannying is my full-time job, so I've built my schedule to be flexible around clients' needs. Apart from special requests and appointments, I'm generally available from 10 am to 8 pm for dog walks/hikes/adventures, drop-in visits, daycare, and training. Overnight stays are typically reserved to Friday and Saturday nights. I'm always happy to consider special scheduling needs, and I do offer pick-up and drop-off services (aka "dog taxi") when needed. Inside clients' homes, I always follow your routine and try to leave the space better than I found it. At home, I keep a clean, dog-proofed house with safety gates, tons of toys, and 100% dog-friendly furniture. Dogs are rarely left home alone, if ever, and never for long stretches of time. I tailor their play and activities depending on their individual personalities, energy levels, and varying social skills + daily moods. While I don’t have an attached yard, we make up for it with frequent strolls over to the nearby, private dog park. (Please review my policies for vaccinations, pest preventatives, and meet & greets for daycare bookings, listed at the end of my profile.)
“Lindsay took excellent care of our pup. She has a quiet, welcoming home with lots of indoor space as well as a backyard with a fence and lots of room to explore. She was attentive to our dogs needs regarding feeding and medication, and provided us with regular updates and plenty of pictures, making us feel at-ease with leaving our timid rescue pitty in her care for the afternoon.”

I live in a pondside home in a safe suburban neighborhood. It’s a wooded area with all kinds of critters, much to explore! I’ll set up a bed with blankets in the sunroom for my doggie guests :)

“My dog, Buster, loves coming to play with Garrett and Garrett’s pup, Dax, for doggy day care! Even though Buster is older he still has a lot of energy, and he is the only dog in our home. Buster gets socialization and play time with Dax in Garrett’s fenced in backyard and comes home both happy and tired! Highly recommend Garrett (and Dax)!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the genuine love and care I bring to every dog I meet. I see each pet as an individual with their own personality and needs, and I make it my priority to make them feel safe, happy, and loved—just like they would at home. I have two sweet rescue dogs of my own who are incredibly friendly with both people and other dogs. Living with them has taught me so much about patience, trust-building, and how to read a dog’s body language. It’s also given me real experience in creating a calm, playful, and secure environment, especially for dogs who may be shy, energetic, or still adjusting to new surroundings. Whether it’s playing fetch, going for walks, or simply being a calming presence, I put my heart into giving every pup the attention and affection they deserve. You can feel confident that your dog will be treated with kindness, respect, and lots of love while they’re with me. I work from home about 12 hours a week, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to fully focus on caring for dogs. My schedule allows me to provide consistent attention throughout the day—whether that means extra potty breaks, playtime, or just keeping a close eye on your pup to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. Because I’m home most of the day, I can easily adapt to each dog’s routine and needs. Whether your dog requires a little extra care, more frequent walks, or simply loves companionship, I’m here to provide a calm, loving environment with lots of one-on-one time. At home, we follow a balanced routine that includes a mix of long and short walks throughout the day to keep dogs active and happy. I also have access to a dog park in the apartment complex, which is great for safe playtime and socializing in a controlled environment. I live with my boyfriend, and while I’m the primary caregiver during the day, he also helps out with the dogs in the mornings, evenings, and on weekends. We both love spending time with animals, and your pup will receive plenty of attention, love, and care from the two of us throughout their stay. Inside, I love incorporating little training moments during the day to encourage good behavior—like practicing “sit,” “wait,” or calm greetings. It keeps their minds engaged and helps create a positive, structured environment. If your dog is crate-trained or feels more comfortable having their own space, I’m happy to accommodate that as well. I can provide crate time for rest, routine, or safety—whatever works best for your pup’s needs. Overall, I aim to create a peaceful, enriching, and loving home where every dog can feel secure and cared for.
About: I’ve had pets all my life. The last 15 years have been with my sweet foxhound, Lego and for 4 of those with my laid back Bombay cat, Ivy. I’m a recent empty nester looking to put extra time to good use by caring for others’ loved pets. I work full time from home, and have a doggie door to my back yard that my work space overlooks. I like to take breaks and walk myself, so having a companion during those breaks would be great! I have a large fenced in yard and easy access from my kitchen. I also work from home and am able to go outside or walk pets as needed.
“Hannah was great with our dog! She was able to fit us in during a holiday weekend which was super helpful. She also sent lots of photos and updates, so we felt very comfortable knowing how the day was going.”
“Megan was great. I had a good experience. This was my first time leaving my dog with someone. She sent me pictures of him. I was late in picking up my puppy and she was ok with it. I would definitely recommend and leave my puppy with her in the future.”

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
