“I just moved to South Carolina a month ago and had to be away a couple of days this past weekend. I was quite anxious having to find someone to stay in my home and take care of my sweet, Nala. She is older, is a rescue, is a large dog, and the move was alot for her. I arranged a meet with Jerry and I was at ease right away; more importantly, Nala was at ease right away. I think dogs sense immediately if a person is a good fit or not. The day I had to leave, Jerry showed up on time (a bit early, actually, which I truly appreciated) and Nala was very excited to see him. Jerry sent many pictures and texts about how things were going over the two days, let me know when he had to leave for awhile and communicated when he was back. Nala needs alot of love and Jerry was attentive and very willing to give affection to her. The stay could not have gone better. Jerry was also very respective of my home and took good care of everything while I was gone. I highly recommend Jerry and am grateful I found him on Rover.”

“Awesome first time experience with Tracie. She did overnights and spent so much time (almost all of it) there with my dog during the day. I got lots of pictures and updates and felt super comfortable with her level of care and service.”

About: Hello! I've spent the last 11yrs in the animal welfare industry. Mainly in shelters but I've worked for myself, daycares, boarding places and vets offices. I've always owned pets and its no surprise I've made animal care my passion. I am Fear Free animal handling certified as well as a S.A.F.E certified handler at my job. I have experience with dogs of all age, size and temperament. I do have a background working with dogs who have behavior issues and would be willing to help pending a meet and greet goes well. I've always owned at least one cat. No home is complete without one. I've fostered bottle baby kittens and cared for super seniors and everything in-between. I am even comfortable working around a spicy kitty if they have a little cat-attude. I also have a small medical background so i can administer medication and monitor health symptoms when needed. I currently have a very open and available schedule. I can do weekends and holidays. For overnight stays I will stop by my house daily for a brief time but the rest of the day/night will be focused on the clients animals. Long walks, lots of toys and for sure some cuddles. My goal when spending time with a pet is to make it as enriching and enjoyable as possible. Its important for me to know the rules and routine of the pet so i can best create the environment they need while in my care. Keeping to their routine will help reinforce positive behaviors in the home and will provide comforting stability while the pet parent is away.
“Kimberly is the best and takes such good care of our senior pup who needs a lot of extra attention. She is a great communicator and so respectful of our home. Highly recommend!”
“Great house and pet sitter! She has been a reliable and repeat care giver for our pets and wonderful house sitter while we are away. Prompt communications and able to adjust to the unexpected scenario. Definitely someone who I will request again.”

“Shannon was absolutely wonderful with our dog Bailey! From the moment they met, Bailey took to her right away, which immediately put me at ease. Shannon is incredibly kind, reliable, patient, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. Knowing our dog was with someone so warm and attentive made all the difference. Communication was easy as Shannon kept me updated regularly while our family was away. I’m so grateful for the care Shannon provided and would gladly trust her with Bailey again!”

“Alexis was amazing! She kept me updated on my pup, she was respectful of our home and she even left us flowers and did the laundry!!! I would recommend her to everyone!!!! Thank you Alexis, we appreciate you so much!”

About: I’ve been caring for homes and animals for most of my life, and it’s something I genuinely love. I understand how important it is to know your space is safe and your pets are comfortable while you’re away. I have three cats of my own that I absolutely adore, so I’m especially attentive to routines, personalities, and the little things that keep pets happy and stress-free. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or simply keeping your home in order, I treat everything with the same care and respect I would my own. Note: I also worked at an animal shelter, where I picked up valuable knowledge, tips, and hands-on experience that I now bring into every pet I care for. I am not picky about specific instructions (I actually really enjoy getting as many details as possible about your pet and their routine) and I will do whatever you need me to do to take care of your animals, just let me know what care your animals need. I am willing to either spend the night and watch your home or just pop in and check on them throughout the day. Whatever you and your beebees prefer.
“Reagen did a great job taking care of my little Bree while I was gone. She communicated well keeping me informed. Neighbors said Bred seemed to enjoy her walks. The house was in great shape on my return. Reagen is a contentious sweet trustworthy young lady. I would have her watch Bree again.”

“Best pet sitters ever for our two Cavaliers! From our first meeting, we immediately felt that we had made two new friends. They followed our directions exactly as our “fur babies” were groomed and cared for just like we were still at home with them. We treasured the pictures sent while we were away. When we returned, their sheets and towels were washed and the dishwasher had been run. We look forward to our next trip because MB & Lindsey provide us with total confidence in the care of your canine family members!”

“Daniela took extra steps to ensure my pets were comfortable and cared for. I frequently feel nervous leaving my pets with someone new, but she was amazing with communication and it eased my mind knowing she was there to care for them. I would use Daniela in the future!!”

“Justin was great! He watched our two boys on back to back weekends. He was a great communicator and kept us updated and threw in some cute pictures too! Seemed liked our boys were comfortable with him and as a pet parent that is all we could ask for!”

“Ana is absolutely a beautiful soul! She was perfect with my two dogs, patient caring and loving with them and that means everything to me. My Ruby has anxiety which worries me whenever I have to leave them, but she was fine, and happy I could see on the tons of pics Ana sent me. Ana has proved herself to be trustworthy and great with dogs. I had peace on my trip, so I will definitely be having Ana gain looking after my fur babies! Love that she is very communicative, and keeps you updated”

“So I picked Sally by reviews and profile. Let me just say that Sally was absolutely amazing!! I was stress free during my trip. She went above and beyond for my two dogs!! She visited my house twice to meet my dogs ( they are very nervous meeting new people) before initially staying over my house. She sent me updates and pics daily. It was such a stress free trip knowing she was there. I can't wait to book with her again for our next trip!!!! - she even took our mail/trash in and fed my fish!!! Thank you sally for everything!!!”

“Chelsey was absolutely wonderful with the family’s 3 year old golden retriever and 3 year old Siamese mix cat. She was very attentive to their needs. The cat can be fairly standoffish when meeting someone new, and Chelsey gave her the time and space to come around on her own. I felt very at ease knowing the pets were in Chelsey’s care. I highly recommend and will be contacting again in the future!”

About: As a proud cat mom to three spoiled kitties, I know firsthand how stressful it can be to leave your pets behind. That’s why my goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while you travel, knowing your pets are loved, happy, and well cared for. I’ve been providing pet and house sitting services since high school. One of my favorite experiences even took me all the way to Alaska, where I spent two weeks caring for three wonderful pets while their family was away. Building trust with both pets and their owners is something I genuinely value. I believe every animal has a unique personality, and getting to know each one is one of the best parts of the job. I also know that the little details matter, so I take the time to learn your pet’s routine, preferences, and any special instructions to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home. Whether you’re looking for overnight house sitting or just drop-in visits, I’m committed to treating your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would give my own. While you’re away, you can count on regular updates, plenty of love for your furry family members, and the confidence that they’re in caring, capable hands. Right now I’m available Sunday through Saturday, as needed. I can do multiple check-ins throughout the day or I can spend the night. Whatever makes you and your fur babies the most comfortable. I will treat your pets and home with the same respect I treat mine. I also love to send photos of your pets for check-ins and I make sure all is well and good with your home.
“Our second time booking with Chris and we will continue to book with him! He’s so attentive and thoughtful when it comes to watching the fur babies! There are no worries when Chris is around!”

“Mehlayne did a wonderful job of caring for our sweet old Roxy. Our pup is 16 years old, has medical needs such as breathing treatments and medication administration and she even took Roxy to the Vet 4 times for routine fluid administration. While we are away for our 13 day vacation to Alaska, she sent daily pictures of our sweet little girl and messages regarding her day. Considering that Roxy had never been apart from us for more than 3 days, we were very pleased when we returned and she was in excellent health and eating very well, which could be a challenge at times. I could tell from the beginning that they were a good fit, especially since Melanie has a very elderly dog herself. We will be happy to book her again if needed and recommend her to anyone that is looking for someone to care for their pup.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wade Hampton
Renee has been our go-to sitter for our sweet pup when we are away and we are so thankful to have her. Our otherwise anxious and tentative Tucker has connected so well with her. She stays in our home and leaves it as she found it, and takes great care of Tucker, meeting all of his needs, which differ each time she is here, while we are gone. Thank you, Renee!

Anna did an excellent job taking care of my two large high maintenance, dog-reactive dogs. She tidied up after herself, provided frequent check ins and photos, and asked a lot of questions up front to make sure she was prepared to meet their complicated needs. Absolutely will book Anna again.

Kara took great care of my cats while I was away. She was communicative, reliable, and clearly made an effort to make my cats feel comfortable. I have a cat who can sometimes be a little shy with new people, but Kara was patient and attentive throughout the visit. I appreciated the updates and felt reassured knowing my pets were being looked after. I’d definitely recommend her to others looking for a dependable sitter.

Grace was such a great choice for my dogs. I was concerned because I have dogs who have only been watched by others on a few occasions. One in particular is VERY protective, and she will bark at people in our home (if we are there) for a LONG drawn out time before she somewhat settles. If I was a "sitter", I would probably move on. Grace was here for over 45 minutes on the consultation to make sure "Lily" would adjust to her, and we were all comfortable when she left. She went above and beyond during the stay. I gave her freedom to step away for periods in the morning and afternoon, but she stayed glued in our home. Grace is highly recommended!
Jude came through for us in a big way. We needed a sitter on short notice and he stepped in without hesitation, which already set the tone. What really stood out was that he took the time to stop by a few days before for a quick vibe check. That mattered. He got to know the space, meet my dog, and make sure everything felt right before the stay even started. Over the five days, he was reliable, communicative, and easy to trust. My dog can be a little vocal and particular, but Jude handled him with calm energy and confidence. You can tell he actually pays attention to how dogs move and respond, not just going through the motions. Walks, routines, and general care were all handled exactly how I’d want. Jude’s someone im already trying to book again without thinking twice.

Grace is amazing! We have had issues with dog sitters in the past & have avoided using anyone except family for a few years now but she has completely turned that around for us. We were hoping to find our new favorite sitter since relocating to SC & I think we most definitely have!! You will be super happy you chose her to watch your babies, trust me!

Arianna was a great fit for our pups! She offered to come meet them and walk through their routines before we left for our trip. Her schedule was flexible which was exactly what we needed. She sent us many pictures, was punctual, and our home looks like we never left. We would absolutely recommend her and will be booking with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wade Hampton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wade Hampton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wade Hampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wade Hampton. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
