“Mikayla, as always, was amazing. Our doggo’s love her and so do we. She always goes above and beyond. Had some things going on with our house while we were away and she went out of her way to help us with it. Can’t recommend her enough, she’s always our first choice.”

“Zia was the perfect sitter for my pup! I will be using her on a regular basis as I work out of town a lot. She left my home cleaner than when I left, she gave me regular updates and pictures and my pup absolutely adored her! 5+ stars!”

“Daniela took extra steps to ensure my pets were comfortable and cared for. I frequently feel nervous leaving my pets with someone new, but she was amazing with communication and it eased my mind knowing she was there to care for them. I would use Daniela in the future!!”

“Bella is absolutely wonderful! My dog and I are so very grateful for her! She always makes sure that King has his daily dose of snuggles and feels loved while I’m gone. She’s always communicative, reliable, and responsible. It’s such a relief to have someone that I can trust to stay in my home with King while I’m away and know that he’s happy and well cared for.”

“Ted and Sara did an excellent fun/job with The Duke. The Duke has extreme anxiety in a vehicle, so we reached out to Rover and thankfully we found Ted and Ted got The Duke to like him and Ted got to see The Duke’s sweet personality. Ted sent multiple pics and descriptions of the day with The Duke and Ted even mopped our kitchen floor, St Bernards can be very messy. Ted even left us framed pictures of The Duke, so sweet and thoughtful. If we travel again Ted is the one I’ll call and if you need someone who is competent and very good at his job, get Ted”

“Christine was very conscientious and kind when caring for our 8 yr old pup. She sent photos every day and always responded to my text messages. I felt that she took her responsibility seriously and spent quality time with our dog. Our house was very tidy when we returned from being away. All in all, a positive experience!”

“Natalie was great! We had to go out of town and she was available on short notice. She took great care of our three dogs and sent daily pictures and updates. She was very thorough and super friendly. Highly recommended!”

“Alexis was amazing! She kept me updated on my pup, she was respectful of our home and she even left us flowers and did the laundry!!! I would recommend her to everyone!!!! Thank you Alexis, we appreciate you so much!”

“Shannon was absolutely wonderful. Took such great care of our pup and the house looks better than when we left. She sent us daily photos and updates. Truly made our trip less stressful knowing our pup was in good hands.”

“Mark is an incredible person and such a joy to have caring for our animals and our home. We had just had to put down our chiuahuah so Mark was kind enough to continue with the booking even though he would have earned less for the house sitting because there were unfortunately unexpectedly less animals to care for. He not only refunded us for the cost of our recently lost animal but also created a custom memory image of her for us to to find when we returned home. He is the epitome of compassion and the kind of people you want around your animals and frankly in your family. He is a blessing to us. We can’t recommend him enough for his attention to detail and exquisite care of our fur family and our home. Mark, thank you for being you!”

“Irma was great with our kitties. We needed someone last minute, and our little boy Dexter was having some health issues so we were very nervous. Irma took very good care of them while we were gone and was ready to take Dexter to the vet if he needed to be taken. She was very good about giving him his medicine and tracking his food intake and everything. Highly recommend!!!”

About: I have grown up with and sitting for dogs my whole life. I love dogs and look forward to meeting new ones. I am sociable and can get along with anyone and know how to follow directions. I look forward to meeting new people and animals in the Charlotte area. Plenty of overnight/housesitting experience with dogs as well. I am available in the mornings, lunch and all evening for walking, feeding, and or letting out quickly. the evenings/mornings are the best time for me to get solid walks in My dog lives inside and get two good walks in the morning and at night. She eats breakfast early around 6am and then eats dinner around 5:30pm. Going outside more briefly in between those time. I try to follow a similar schedule/the one outlined for me to keep routine in others homes.
About: I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and breeds! I have experience with mediation management and administration and am comfortable caring for medically complex or senior pets :) I work full time but do work from home about 75% of the time at least so I am home most of the day to care for your pets! I have two friendly dogs and two dog-savvy cats who get along with everyone! I can easily crate or separate animals into separate spaces in my home if the need arises
“Mya was wonderful with our furry crew! Mya sent us daily videos, this allowed us to enjoy our time away knowing they were being well cared for. I would definitely use Mya again!”

“We cannot recommend Lee highly enough! He cared for our two senior dogs while we were on an international trip, and the experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. I have a prior career in veterinary medicine, so I hold an extremely high standard when it comes to the care of my pets- especially since both of our dogs are seniors who require multiple medications twice daily. Lee exceeded every expectation. He followed all instructions flawlessly, managed their medication schedule without a single issue or complication, and cared for them with genuine attentiveness and compassion. Leaving them would normally have been incredibly stressful. This was the first time we have ever been away from home without a single issue arising- and that peace of mind is absolutely priceless to us. We truly did not worry for a second while we were gone. Lee also took wonderful care of our home and was outstanding with communication. He provided multiple daily updates, which kept us connected and reassured the entire time. Everything felt seamless and easy because of him. Because of Lee, we were able to fully enjoy every moment of our trip knowing our pets were safe, loved, and in the very best hands. We are beyond grateful and will absolutely be recommending him to everyone we know. Thank you again, Lee- you are truly one of a kind!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dillard Crossroads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dillard Crossroads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dillard Crossroads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dillard Crossroads. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
