“My dogs spent 3 days with Crystal, they were safe and healthy and well cared for! She provided regular updates and worked with me when my flight was delayed so I had to pick up later than expected. Will definitely use her again.”

“I had plenty of opportunities to interview sitters on Rover about taking care of my dog Donner for the time I spent (over a month) in Sheperdsville, KY. Chelsea and Chris stood out among the rest. When I picked up Donner on weekends, she always had a smile on her face. Moreover, the pets in the household (Winston and Nova) were friendly and loved to play. They are great people with a home and backyard fence well designed for taking care of canine visitors.”

“Melody took excellent care of our two dogs while we were out of town. She kept us updated throughout the stay. The dogs were happy and healthy when we returned. I would definitely recommend her services!! She is a professional!”

“I just returned from a two week trip and couldn't be any happier knowing Isaac took such great care of my dog (Stubby). Isaac took care of Stubby like he was his own. Stubby is normally very hard to acclimate to new people and environment but he did so very quickly at Isaac's. Wonderful place and beautiful surroundings. Isaac kept me constantly updated with pictures and video's on the daily. Stubby also had two amazing dogs to play with Bella and Peanut. I enjoyed all the video's and pictures Issac sent me of their walks and out in the backyard having fun. You can tell the passion he has for caring for animals. I also had been very behind in giving Stubby a bath because of working and tending to sick family member. But Isaac even gave Stubby a bath for me which I appreciated very much. I would highly recommend Isaac to anyone who is looking for wonderful caretaker and environment for their furry family member. I will be using Isaac again in the future.”

“Reservé con Nelson el cuidado de mis mascotas por 7 días, realmente hizo un excelente trabajo, Kira y Linda fueron acogidas como suyas. Todos los días recibía fotos y vídeos de ambas donde se mostraban alegres. Gracias Nelson sin dudas volvería a contratarte para que cuides de mis mascotas.”

“Shunita boarded my puppy and helped nurse him back to health in a time where he needed extra loving, and care just like he was her own! Takes great care and pride in the babies she keeps.”

“Megan was such an awesome sitter! She was communicative, reassuring with photo updates, accommodating with our last-minute request & took such great care of our pups. Highly recommend and would book again!”

“AMANDA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Amanda watched our Goldendoodle for 4 days and 3 nights! She sent so many pictures and kept us up-to-date on all the things he did. I was so impressed and I will use Amanda in the future to watch Oliver. I cannot say enough good things about Amanda and my dog is everything to me!!!! So it says a lot about Amanda and her professionalism. Thank you Amanda for allowing us to get away and have no worries.”

“Amanda and Amy took incredible care of my dog Oslo. When I dropped him off, she made sure to ask lots of questions about his care and during his stay I received all kinds of cute pictures! When our plans changed, she was super flexible and accommodating. Totally recommend!”

“Our previous sitters had to cancel less than a week before our trip so we were stressing to find care for our puppy. We are SO happy we found Sarah & Daniel!! They were quick to respond before and during our trip, and sent us so many sweet photos of our boy. They took care of Charlie like he was theirs and it means so so much - we'll definitely be booking again! ❤️”

“Sharon is amazing. She took care of Oliver extremely well, and gave us peace of mind while we were gone. Her indoor and outdoor space were perfect, and Oliver enjoyed Sharon’s own dog. I was worried Oliver wouldn’t want to come home! We will definitely request Sharon’s services again.”

“10/10 recommend! Watched are year old Australian cattle for 12+ days and was constantly keeping us updated and sent us many pictures. Even dropped him off for us the day we returned which was amazing! Thank you so much!”

“Robin was very friendly. I could tell from speaking to her at our meet and greet that she has a lot of pet sitting experience. Communication was consistent and she sent pictures while we were away at scout camp. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely book again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
