“Melody and her family were the best pet sitters ever!!! I usually feel guilty when I go on a trip and have to leave my dogs behind, but I could tell my dogs had a wonderful time and were well cared for! She sent pics of the dogs playing and updates about the events of their days throughout the trip. It was wonderful! I would recommend her to anyone and will definitely contact her first next time I need a pet sitter. My dogs loved her!!!”

“Ms. Shunita was a Godsend. Not only was she overly professional, but our furbaby absolutely loved her. She is attentive and responsive, and my dog didn't even want to leave when I picked her up. She provides kennels, but allowed me to bring my dog's bed (so she'd be comfortable) bc she doesn't sleep in her kennel at home. We are new to Louisville, and it was so reassuring to find someone we feel completely comfortable leaving our furbaby with.”

“I can’t recommend Crystal enough! When my regular sitter was unexpectedly unavailable, I was nervous about leaving my fur baby with someone new, especially since I was traveling internationally for 10 days. Crystal immediately put my mind at ease. She offered a meet and greet with her and her dog, beforehand, and she was very flexible with drop/pick up times. Overall she was an amazing sitter who really went above and beyond. She treated Bailey like her own and cared for him with love. It was clear from the pics and updates she sent that my baby was happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. Also, my dog got along great with her dog and the other visiting dog. They created a little “dog pack”, the pics were sooooo cute! . If you’re looking for a sitter that you can trust wholeheartedly with your fur baby, Crystal is the one!!”

“Sharon did an excellent job watching our senior dog! She and her dog Wesley were super friendly and extra accommodating. Sharon sent frequent updates & pics and even bathed him one day when he needed a refresh. Sharon’s yard is perfect for dogs, very safe & fun to explore or sunbathe. Sharon also plays relaxing music for your dogs. Talk about a dog-cation!! You will not be disappointed booking Sharon, she is a highly skilled Dog Sitter and great with humans too!”

“I had plenty of opportunities to interview sitters on Rover about taking care of my dog Donner for the time I spent (over a month) in Sheperdsville, KY. Chelsea and Chris stood out among the rest. When I picked up Donner on weekends, she always had a smile on her face. Moreover, the pets in the household (Winston and Nova) were friendly and loved to play. They are great people with a home and backyard fence well designed for taking care of canine visitors.”

“AMANDA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Amanda watched our Goldendoodle for 4 days and 3 nights! She sent so many pictures and kept us up-to-date on all the things he did. I was so impressed and I will use Amanda in the future to watch Oliver. I cannot say enough good things about Amanda and my dog is everything to me!!!! So it says a lot about Amanda and her professionalism. Thank you Amanda for allowing us to get away and have no worries.”

“Daphne was wonderful! She took Lola as a last minute booking and we couldn't be happier! We received daily picture updates. Lola was treated like a little princess with lots of love! 🩷 Highly recommend Daphne!”

“Amanda and Amy took incredible care of my dog Oslo. When I dropped him off, she made sure to ask lots of questions about his care and during his stay I received all kinds of cute pictures! When our plans changed, she was super flexible and accommodating. Totally recommend!”

About: We just moved to Bardstown and have 2 quiet acres for your pet to enjoy. Our home is comfortable- not chaotic! We have cats currently & love to snuggle up. Everyone is taken care of. Your pets are welcome on couches & beds just like family. Feeding times are regular. I have a history of house/pet sitting in Dallas, TX & Lewisburg, TN. I've worked with a local groomer bathing dogs and have owned cats or dogs most of my life. My partner & I have fostered dogs with the local animal shelter. A good relationship with an animal is built on their trust of you to take care of their needs & offer protection. We will take great care of your pet! We have a partially fenced, secluded yard & a membership at Bernheim where we can take pups to walk. No dog to little or small. We have lots of experience introducing and managing different dogs from different families in one stay so everyone feels comfortable and gets along. Happy to honor special requests and answer any questions a pet owner might have. We have the ability to take care of pets just like any pet owner would. We work opposite shifts so someone is generally at home or not gone for too long. We work in town and have flexibility. We treat all pets like our own. They have access to furniture and pet beds and can snuggle up anytime they want to. Our casa is their casa.
“Rachel and Frank took such great care of Max! He’s had boarding anxiety in other places and there was zero evidence of that this time. Got daily pics and updates so I never had to worry!”

“As always, our little girl loved her vacation with Rachel and her friends. We feel so good about leaving her with Rachel because we know she will be well cared for.”

“Patrick was great! Prompt communication and plenty of picture updates on Guthrie, who looked to be having the time of his life. I swear Guthrie was positively beaming when I picked him up! The afterglow remains several days after.”

“Robin is wonderful and her place was good for my energetic dog. She arranged a meet & greet beforehand because it was a longer stay. She sent me pics and updates every day and was clear and specific in all communication. I really appreciate her and look forward to booking again!”

“We just picked up our Jeffy and he did absolutely great! Megan was very nice and we were able to get ahold of her in a timely manner if we needed anything. Will definitely use her in the future!”

“Mariah took great care of Charlie. We’re very pleased, and we’ll keep her in mind for future needs. She provided frequent updates with pictures, and he came home to us well-loved and happy.”

“Lillian can be a bit shy initially but took to Jessica's family and home in a flash. Shortly after dropping her off her husband and son took her on a walk to keep her engaged. I ended up having flight issues on my return and Jessica + family were so understanding and flexible. Lillian was happy and incredibly well taken care of. I appreciate Jessica's entire family opening up their home and loving on my girl while I had to be gone.”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
