“I feel really safe with Barry staying with Brandon’s family! I pay close attention to Barry’s behavior after he stays with a new sitter and he acts very normal and content which actually says a lot! Thanks Brandon for taking care of him”
“Cali was happy to see us but she also was sure to say goodbye to Jasmine when she left. Great sign of a comfortable stay! Thank you for making our first Rover experience so easy and great for our pup and us! We appreciate you, Jasmine!”

“Kelly took care of Aiko for the second time and she was great! Aiko really seemed to enjoy her stay. I'm so glad we found her, she's super reliable. Aiko can be a little shy, but she warmed right up to Kelly. It gives me such peace of mind knowing Aiko is in good hands. I would definitely recommend Kelly to anyone looking for a pet sitter. We'll definitely be booking her again. Thanks again Kelly!”

“Went above and beyond to make sure Katie and KC were well taken care of. KC WASN’T EATING HIS REGULAR FOOD. SHE OFFERED DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND FOUND WHAT HE WOULD EAT. IT BROUGHT ME COMFORT KNOWING THAT SHE WASN’T GOING TO LET HIM GO WITHOUT EATING. I FEEL VERY RELAXED WHEN I HAVE CAROLYN CARE FOR MY GERIATRIC SWEET DOGS.”

“Robyn was just amazing when we took a 10 day trip to Hawaii! Having a fenced in yard and lovely home made our pups very comfy. She loved & cared for our 2 pups like they part of her family. Lots of communication and pictures, I highly recommend her.”

“Emma was responsive and kept our doggies safe. The one and only issue was on the first full day we asked for pics and didn't hear back till the next day at 6am. We were really worried for those 12 hours, however we were out of the country and unable to act on those worries. When we got up, we had updates. So I gave her 5 stars but I would say that was scary as a first time client. I would definitely use her again. Thank you Emma!”

“James and Erin took great care of Marvel. Right from the meet and greet they welcomed Marvel to their home. Communication was top notch, sent pictures daily. They even sent him home with a dog toy. Looking forward to many more stays for Marvel at James and Erin’s home.”

“Anabelle was fantastic! She sent me pictures and an update everyday on how Zeke was doing. She has a nice, fenced, shaded backyard where he can get out and play. When I picked him up he seemed happy and had no problems adjusting when we got home. (Sometimes he likes to punish us with bad behavior when we return home) Thanks Anabelle”

“We had a fantastic experience with Amber! My husband and I recently moved to Arizona from California and had to make a last-minute trip back for a wedding. From the start, Amber was incredibly responsive and flexible. She quickly agreed to a meet and greet, but when bad weather made that difficult, she was happy to do a video call instead, which I really appreciated. I have two Boston Terriers, one is a playful one-and-a-half-year-old, and the other is seven with some health issues. I explained everything to Amber, and she was not only understanding but very willing to accommodate my older pup's needs. She followed my instructions carefully and was genuinely caring with both dogs. Throughout their stay, Amber sent regular updates and photos, and anytime I had a question or reached out, she responded within the hour. It was such a relief knowing my dogs were in good hands. They both had an absolute blast, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Amber again!”

“Alexandra was incredible with our pup! She put up with our dog’s unique needs during her stay and she ensured our dog was happy, safe, and well taken care of. We would happily choose Alexandra again!”

“Celeste and her family were wonderful watching my golden retriever, Hank. They were so kind receiving Hank much later than expected due to car issues and sent pictures of him throughout the weekend. Highly recommend her services and if we’re in Phoenix again, we’ll be sure to book. 😊”

“We couldn’t have been happier with the care that they provided our Daisy. With her still being a puppy, I was nervous about finding someone to make her feel comfortable and invited for the first time without us and they did just that. They sent us so many videos and photos of her along with detailed updates on the day to put us even more at ease. Their dog Brownie got along so well with Daisy and was extremely patient with her (from all the videos of them playing) and we really appreciated that given their size difference and maturity levels. Highly recommend!!”

“Veronica took very good care of my babies. She kept us posted with pictures with detailed daily activities and she has been very responsive all the time! Will definitely come back again!”

“Janna was amazing! She was very responsive and kind. She took great care of my dog and sent photos during the stay. I could tell my dog was well cared for. I would definitely recommend and use Janna in the future!”

“Simply fabulous. Melissa watched our 5 month puppy for 3 days while we were out, and her and her family were so sweet to him. Melissa sent photos throughout our trip. I would definitely use her again!”

Ashley & her family were absolutely amazing! They took such great care of our dogs and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. She kept us updated with messages & photos throughout their stay. Their dog, Chewie, was so sweet and got along great as well! Ashley was also incredibly accommodating with our early drop off & late pick up times & we really appreciated her flexibility. I would definitely trust her with our babies again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter. Thank you, Ashley!

Cindy is wonderful! She keeps me up to date with pictures of my cat morning & night. She communicates very quickly & makes the drop off & pick up process very easy & convenient. She has everything my cat needs to feel comfortable while staying overnight. I highly recommend Cindy!

Scott hosted our Bandit over the Fourth of July weekend and did a wonderful job. Bandit doesn't like fireworks very much, and Scott made him feel safe during his stay. They sent updates throughout the day, and we really appreciated the regular check-ins. Thank you for taking such great care of Bandit!

We’ve always had friends or family watch our girls, so I was naturally nervous to choose someone I didn’t know. However, from our initial meeting with Tea, I could see her kindness in her stories and the way she interacted with our dogs. Our Schnauzer takes a bit to warm up to people, and I could see with Tea’s experience she knew exactly how to be patient and win her trust over time, which meant the world to me. We were away for 10 days, and Tea kept us connected with regular pictures and notes on how they were doing. The biggest compliment I can give is that while the girls were happy to see us, they were so content with Tea that it was by no means a 'prison break' when it was time to leave. They were relaxed, happy, and I know they would be thrilled to return. We’ve found our new sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
