5. Jessica A.

About: I am Cat and Dog First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross, Certified Pet Expert (CPS-DW), and an active member of Pet Sitters International (PSI). I am currently working on becoming a CPPS-Certified Professional Pet Sitter. Though I am new to pet sitting, I am constantly learning about pet care and safety. Having grown up with pets, I understand they become members of the family. I cared for my sister’s former miniature poodle Sandy and have grown up with various breeds like chihuahuas and a dachshund. Though I do not own pets anymore due to my lifestyle and living arrangements, I miss being around them. My friends told me about Rover and I jumped right in! I offer personalized care, including daily walks and playtime. I ensure your dog feels safe, loved, and well-cared for! As a Certified Pet Expert, I believe in using positive reinforcement instead of negative methods like e-collars or leash corrections, as they can harm trust and lead to aggression. While I'm not a dog trainer and won't suggest how to teach your dog, I'll happily follow your instructions and support your dog's training (: I work part-time and my availability changes weekly, so feel free to reach out for specific dates. I’m flexible and happy to accommodate your pet’s needs whenever possible! While walking your pet, I ensure they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, following their preferred pace and routine. I prioritize safety by keeping them on a leash and being mindful of their surroundings. For house sitting, I maintain your pet’s routine, providing meals, playtime, and cuddles. I make sure they feel secure and comfortable in their own home. I also handle light tasks like cleaning up after your pet, keeping the litter box tidy, and sending you regular updates on their well-being. Your pet will feel loved and well cared for while you're away!

8. Amy L.

“Amy took great care of our dogs while we were away. She worked with me on the drop-in schedule to ensure the least disruption to their normal routine. I appreciated the Rover cards and photos from each visit. And being responsive when I checked in. Thanks, Amy!”

9. Shaye F.

“Shaye is the best! She took the best care of our pets and made us feel comfortable with leaving them at home. I highly recommend asking her to be your pet sitter!”

10. Anabelle S.
“My dogs love Anabelle. She is very calm and fun. They especially like her glow in the dark chuck it ball! When I get back from vacation I am a little worried my dogs miss her more than me!”

11. Maddie L.

“Maddie watched over my babies for almost the entirety of the month. She was very understanding, accommodating, and communicative. I chose Maddie based on her reviews and she’s indeed the best sitter anyone can ever ask for with trust and confidence. I am so lucky to have Maddie as my babies’ sitter and hope to have her again as our sitter. Highly recommended!!”

12. Alexa Y.
About: I grew up with pets (dogs, cats, exotics) my entire life and quickly took on the responsibility of caring for them at a young age. This passion led me down the path of pursuing Veterinary Medicine. Throughout high school I volunteered at my local animal shelter and also independently studied dog training. Through the use of positive reinforcement I have successfully trained my own two dogs as well as friends' and family members' dogs. During my undergraduate years, I was a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital in Southern, California. There I learned technical skills such as administering vaccines, collecting blood samples, and giving oral and injectable medications. I am currently a first year vet student at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where I’m continuing my journey to help animals live healthier, happier lives. Whether it’s walking, training, or giving your pet a little extra TLC, you can trust they’ll be in knowledgeable and loving hands with me. I am currently a first year veterinary student, so everyday I have a combination of lectures and labs. However, my schedule tends to fluctuate a lot and for the most part provides me flexibility. I am free most weekdays and weekends -with proper notice- for dog walking, pet check ins, house sitting, etc. I am well versed in dog and cat behavior and training. I am comfortable tailoring to your pets usual routine and comfort level. My goal is to make them as comfortable as they are when you are home!

13. Cheyenne C.

“Our two cats are usually afraid of everybody, but warmed up to Cheyenne right away! We were out of town for an extended trip, and it was great knowing they were in good hands. Communication was great and we loved seeing the daily photos. We highly recommend!”

14. Rayna D.
“Rayna is a wonderful dog sitter. Not only did she have a 13 year old Pitt bill she took care of at home but she would go out of her way to babysit an additional set of dogs for another family during their family trips. She is very responsible and loves all living creatures especially dogs. She would be a great addition to Rover.”

15. Esmerilda R.

“Esmerilda was absolutely fantastic! I had very poor planning but she accepted my last minute booking. She sent me a ton of pictures and little stories of how my cat Bear Bear was doing which set my mind at ease about having to be away. She also made sure he got his meds, was well fed, and given all the scratches and cuddles. I highly recommend her to others.”

16. Mya S.
“Mya was awesome! My cat was clearly very well cared for and she did a great job and keeping the litter box clean. Would definitely recommend her to others”

17. Tingrui H.
“My friend Rebecca is a very responsible individual. I have seen her train her own dog, Parker, with great success. Not only is Rebecca responsible, but she also possesses strong professional knowledge. Her internship at the animal protection center has equipped her with exceptional expertise in this field.”

18. Tate L.

“Came for the first time on very short notice and made sure everything was taken care of, I'm really glad she could stop by while I was out of town!”

19. Cassandra M.
About: I have owned a few dogs in my lifetime and as of 5 years ago I started caring for my neighbors’ dogs all throughout Davis! I typically stay the night and give them playtime in the backyard or walks.. whatever is needed, I’m there. I have experience with administering oral medication to dogs. I’m a recent UC Santa Cruz graduate with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and I’m currently looking for wildlife technician jobs as well as applying to grad school. I’m a part time caregiver at the moment so I have plenty of time to care for your pets! I make sure to ask all the right questions in case of emergency and for the comfort of the pets. I like to get written lists of everything that needs to be done while the owners are away, this helps with any clarifying questions I may have!
