“Buddy enjoyed his stay! Great fenced in yard to run and play with the other dogs. We appreciated getting pictures and updates while we were away. Buddy came home ready to nap after having so much fun! Will definitely stay again. Thank you! Carrie & Dan”

“Kyle did a great job caring for our pup while we were out of town and was extremely prompt with all of our correspondence; including in our request to watch our pup, which really put us at ease! I definitely recommend him! :)”

“I was extremely happy with Louie’s Christmas stay with Jennifer and her family. She took the best care of him and he felt right at home. I was completely at ease my whole trip. She also communicated really well and sent photos the whole time!”

“Jessica was the best! After a bit of a fiasco with another sitter, Jessica came through last minute and was a great back up. I will absolutely book her again. Our dog came home absolutely exhausted, but so happy, and we can't thank her enough for helping us out this weekend!”

“Claire went above and beyond while taking care of my dog! I had to book with her last minute, and I’m so glad that I did and she was available. She walked my reactive dog, hand fed him because of his anxiety, and took great care of him for the whole day. She updated me every couple hours and sent pictures. I’ll be booking again!”

“Steffanie was responsive and great. When I went to pick up my dog who has separation anxiety, it was clear that she was well cared for during her time at Steffanie's.”

“Sierra was so thoughtful and considerate, very easy to work with as a Rover home for our extended holiday weekend. We loved the daily pictures. Thank you so much, Sierra!”

“Monica did an amazing job with our dog, Simon. He can be anxious in new places and she was great for him. She gave us daily updates and pictures. Definitely would recommend!”

“This was our first time having Janine watch Molly. We would definitely send Molly to Janine again in the future. Janine is active and enjoys taking multiple walks throughout the day. She truly enjoys having dogs with her, so I know Molly is getting a lot of attention.”

“Great stay as always! Suki runs into Ali's house like she owns the place and happily greets her family like they are old friends. This always make us feel comfortable leaving her and we never have to stress about her while we are away.”
“We love Stan! Our dog loves it there- he gets along great with Stan’s resident dogs. My husband and I love that Stan is great about sending updates and pictures and that he clearly loves dogs. We highly recommend him!”

“This is the longest I've ever left Mia and I did not want to board her at a kennel for 12 nights. Lan kept me updated with pictures and videos that made me relax and enjoy my vacation more knowing she was well taken care of and had a buddy to play with too. Thanks Lan!”

About: I have had dogs most of my life and have always been a responsible owner. I know how important it is for dogs to get exercised and stimulated. I work during the week during normal business hours but my adult son is with me and would see to it that your dog is taken care of during that time. He is also a dog lover and is very responsible and used to volunteer with the humane society. I would be attending to your dog in the evenings and early morning. I am available throughout the weekends. My back yard is not fenced and is adjacent to green space. I would make sure that your dog is walked regularly with a leash (at least twice a day).
“Miriam was excellent, she was so easy to communicate with, and it was very helpful (for my ease of mind) to do a meet and greet before my dog's actual stay. I really appreciated her daily updates, and I felt like he was in great hands!”

“We absolutely love when Bill and Tristan watch our pups! They are so gracious, and take great care of them. We never worry! This past time we had a series of unfortunate events that delayed our return and they were great and did not bat an eye! Truly the best!”
“Jenny was a great sitter for our little guy. This was our first time using Rover so glad it went well. Always sent me a daily picture & update, which was super nice! Our pup seemed right at home and loved by her and her family. Thx!”

“Our dog was happy and tired after a weekend with Robert! He was flexible with our drop off and pick up times and sent cute photos and videos during her stay. Thank you Robert!!”

Kaitlyn and her family are so fantastic I am so grateful she was available to watch our dog Millie again! She is so kind, thoughtful and communicative. My dog was very excited to go romp around with Tater again too! Millie always comes back tired and happy and I know she’s well cared for while I’m away!

Margaret is a great dog sitter. We appreciate her abilities and her knowledge of caring for dogs who are out of their normal home environment. She has a great fenced in yard too, which was a plus as our dog is use to a having a fenced in yard at home. She communicated well, sent some pictures. Ryder was content there and well cared for which put our minds at ease. Thank you Margaret! We would not hesitate to board Ryder with Margaret again in the future.

My pup was so well cared for and a happy camper with Isabella and her family! I was not worried at all. She was super nice and I noticed he was comfortable with her right away. Also communication was great and I got updates, everything went super smooth! Her pup is super friendly too. :)

Rachel was a fantastic kitty sitter. She was able to take my little kitten into her home for 5 nights with short notice and I was so thankful. My little kitten was happy and healthy when I picked him up. If I ever need a pet sitter again I will definitely contact Rachel first!

Katie was awesome with my dog Sampson. She took him for several long walks, played fetch in her large fenced yard, and went above and beyond to make Sampson feel comfortable and at home. It was a relief to know Sampson was in such good hands. I will definitely be reaching out to Katie for future dog sitting needs!

Thanks for being so accommodating with GiGi. She loves your yard and cuddles. Thanks for understanding dogs, how to help them relate with eachother the best & when to separate them for a break. I KNOW that she is in caring hands when she is with you, your husband, kids & dog! Thanks for saying, GiGi is such a sweet dog!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
