Pet care experience

WFH, experienced care takers

Hi! We’re Brock and Laura, and we’d love to welcome your dog into our home. We have two young kids (both under 7) who absolutely love dogs, so our house is full of fun, love, and plenty of attention for our furry guests. Both of us work from home full-time, which means someone is almost always here. Your dog will have lots of companionship, regular potty breaks, and won’t be left alone for long stretches. We live across from the Oakdale Nature Preserve, so daily walks are part of our routine. If your dog enjoys playing with other dogs and you’re comfortable with it, we’re also happy to visit a nearby dog park for some supervised fun. Every dog is different, and we love getting to know their unique personality. Whether your pup loves long walks, playing fetch, or just curling up on the couch, we’ll do our best to make them feel right at home. We’re happy to stick to their normal routine, administer medications if needed, and send plenty of photo updates so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. Our kids have been taught to be gentle and respectful with animals, and all interactions are always supervised by Brock or Laura. We know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and we’ll care for them like they’re one of our own.

Brock and family are loving caregivers with an ideal situation. With both adults working from home full time, companionship and cuddles are in quick reach. Potty breaks, treats, and two daily walks are givens. Their young kiddos are careful and caring with pets. With the nature park across the street from their home, walks are safe and adventurous! With numerous previous dogs, and a cat fit in there too, the family are genuine animal lovers and will spoil your friend as they did their own!

Schedule

As a work-from-home family, pet care fits seamlessly into our daily routine. We take dogs for a minimum of two walks per day, and someone is always home to provide company, bathroom breaks, and attention throughout the day. We’re an active family who spends evenings and weekends outdoors, and pups are welcome to join us for any activities they’re comfortable with — from park visits to family outings.

Safety, trust & environment

Children in our home will be active participants in caring for the dog — helping with things like brushing, playtime, and gentle daily interaction. Adults handle the core responsibilities of walking and feeding to ensure consistency and the dog’s wellbeing.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a morning potty break followed by breakfast (according to your dog's normal routine) and a walk around our neighborhood or the nearby Oakdale Nature Preserve. Since both of us work from home, your dog will have company throughout the day, plenty of attention, and regular opportunities to go outside. We tailor each day to your dog's personality and energy level. For active dogs, we'll include walks, games of fetch, puzzle toys, and supervised outdoor play. For dogs who prefer a slower pace, we're just as happy to provide plenty of cuddles, belly rubs, and a cozy place to relax while we're working. If your dog enjoys socializing and you approve, we're happy to take them to the local dog park for supervised play. Our fully supervised children also love helping toss a ball or offering gentle pets, giving dogs extra positive interaction while always respecting their comfort level. In the evening, we'll enjoy another walk, dinner, and relaxing family time before one last potty break before bed. Throughout your dog's stay, we'll follow their normal schedule as closely as possible and send regular photo and message updates so you can see how much fun they're having.

Brock & Laura can host up to 2 pets per night
Before your dog's stay, we'd love to learn about their personality, routine, and any special needs so we can make them feel as comfortable as possible. Please let us know about their feeding schedule, potty routine, exercise preferences, medications, allergies, favorite toys, and whether they're crate trained. It's also helpful to know how your dog does around children, other dogs, and new environments, as well as any behaviors we should be aware of, such as separation anxiety, resource guarding, jumping, or escape tendencies. If there are specific commands, house rules, or routines they know, we'll be happy to follow them to keep their stay as consistent as possible. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving experience that feels as close to home as we can make it, and the more we know ahead of time, the better we can care for your pup.
