About: Beyond the care of my own pets, I also regularly house, dog, cat, and chicken-sit for family friends and neighbors. I've spent my whole life around animals and have nurtured and cared for a variety of pets, including guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and fish. I graduate in June of this year and work a part-time job, so I will have more day-time availability in the summer. My shifts at my job are 4 to 8 hours, 3 to 4 days a week, and Fridays and Saturdays tend to be my most available days. I am open to any rules or directions you have for your pet. I have a deep respect for all animals and will love and care for them. As a pet-caregiver myself, I understand the bond between you and your pet and the protecting feeling that comes with it. Before any walk, I take a few minutes to connect with your pup and let them get comfortable with me no rushing, no stress. I believe a relaxed dog makes for a better and safer walk for everyone. I stick to dog-friendly routes through our neighborhood and nearby parks, always keeping your dog leashed and under close supervision. I’m experienced with both small and large breeds and know that every dog walks a little differently, some need a leisurely stroll, others need to burn some serious energy, and I’m happy to match whatever your dog needs that day. About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. I know there are a lot of people on this site, who fluff their profiles and just do this for extra money. But, my life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a deep understanding of dog psychology and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining calm and assertive when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I'm located in the east Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates and dog run fencing in our fenced backyard. Open to small dogs for boarding and daycare.

I once worked at the WSU veterinary school and have experience volunteering at vet clinics and fostering. I have always been passionate about animals of all shapes, sizes, and ages. My partner Dalton is a work from home dad to our three furbabies and one human baby. We have plenty of indoor and fenced outdoor space for your pet(s) to roam. Whether they want to cuddle up on the couch with us, or prefer a quiet, secluded space of their own, we can accommodate your pet's needs. Our goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in our home. If you need drop-in visits or dog walking, I have availability for that too! I work night shift in healthcare- I have several days off in a row every other week which is when I would be available for pet sitting. This includes weekends and weekdays, as well as some holidays. My partner works from home full-time so is available to help out as needed. We have a large one story home with plenty of lounge spaces for your pet to get comfortable. We also have a large fully fenced, grassy backyard. Our two elderly dogs are good with other dogs, but we also have the ability to give your pet(s) their own gated off space, or crate, if needed.

About: I have always had animals my whole life. The love of my life was an orange tabby named Pumpkin that I had for 17 years. I have always had dogs all shapes and sizes, as well as ferrets, rats and a snake! I am experienced with medication administration for both cats and dogs, injection medications for cats, dietary restrictions, grooming and wound care for animals. I am especially great with senior animals. Let me know what your critters favorite treats are and I will be sure to provide! I am working part-time and available anytime after 10am most weekdays, meaning I can check on your critters or walk your pups during the day. I am very aware of pet behavior.
