“Makenzie was great! She cared for my shy dog and he warmed up to her! Trusted her entering my apartment and keeping the keys! Would rebook in the future!”

“Thanks so much Cassidy for taking good care of Archie like always so appreciate your care of him and making sure that he has all of his needs met! I’m so grateful of your attentiveness and flexibility to make sure that my little guy has the best experience while I’m away. You’re the best!”
“Anna has been wonderful with my Australian shepherd puppy! Penelope required a lot of attention and likes to pull and get distracted on walks but Anna has been patient with her, worked with her, played with her, and overall taken great care of my dog. Highly recommend her for any pet care services!”

“Jenni is great. She has helped us get our high energy dog out for walks while we are at work. She is patient with our little pup, and he always seems happy on days they walk. She always takes great pictures of our dog, and is very communicative about what is going on with our dog. Would definitely recommend her.”

About: My love for dogs goes way beyond just having one of my own. I’ve been a proud dog mom to Izzy, my sweet 65 lb companion, for nearly 7 years. Most recently, Over the years I’ve also cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes for friends and family, from tiny lap dogs to large breeds, so your pup is in experienced, loving hands no matter their size. I also have experience with reactive dogs. I treat every dog like my own because that’s genuinely just how I’m wired. Pet care fits naturally and genuinely into my everyday life. My schedule is built around flexibility and routine - which is great news for your dog! I’m available early mornings, midday, and can accommodate late evening needs after 7:30 PM so whether you need a morning walk before work or a midday check-in, I’ve got you covered. Dogs thrive on consistency and presence, and that’s exactly what I can offer. Your pup won’t just be a booking on my calendar they’ll be a welcome part of our day. Before any walk, I take a few minutes to connect with your pup and let them get comfortable with me no rushing, no stress. I believe a relaxed dog makes for a better and safer walk for everyone. I stick to dog-friendly routes through our neighborhood and nearby parks, always keeping your dog leashed and under close supervision. I’m experienced with both small and large breeds and know that every dog walks a little differently, some need a leisurely stroll, others need to burn some serious energy, and I’m happy to match whatever your dog needs that day. During every walk you can expect: • A safe, attentive walker who treats your dog like my own • Updates and photos so you know how the walk went • Plenty of sniff breaks because that’s half the fun for them! I genuinely love dogs and it shows. Your pup will come home happy, tired, and well cared for.
“Nick is the best! He’s reliable, kind, and our pup LOVES him. Looking forward to more walks soon. I can’t recommend Krissy and Nicholas highly enough!”

“Nicole did a great job taking my dog for walks/play at the park. I came home to a happy tired pup. She’s a good communicator, quickly responds to any questions, and reliably showed up when agreed upon. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Shad was a kind, courteous dog walker for my fussy angel Lunchbox. Great communicator, understood my dogs needs, and responsible. Added bonus was he worked around my mobility following a surgery which was an extra kind aspect of working with Shad. Highly recommend!”

“Jade was really great with my dog, Ember who can sometimes be reactive on walks. It was a relief to have someone who has a lot of knowledge and experience care for her while I'm at work, plus my pup loved her. Will definitely be booking again!”

“First time with Brigit. Cooper was immediately comfortable with her. I appreciate that she asked lots of questions to ensure she knew his habits and likes, and my expectations. I look forward to Brigit taking care of Cooper again.”

About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. I will always talk to pets & their owners when I see them on a bus, walking down the street, or in an outside restaurant. I am vegan, as I feel that all animals should be treated well. I do not impose my views on anyone but am happy to talk about it and offer advice if asked. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.
“I can always tell from the photos Margaret sends along that my dog is having a great time! It generally includes at least one photo where she is grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for the wonderful care!”

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs who are absolutely convinced they’re furry royalty. I’m skilled in managing zoomies, snack negotiations, dramatic tantrums, and cuddles on demand. Whether your pup is a diva, a goofball, or a pro napper, I make sure their stay feels like a luxury vacation. Expect belly rubs, playtime, treats, and so much fun they might pretend they don’t want to go home. This is my full time job, I will be home full time for you and your pup! I do work at a dog training facility in my free time for hours for my CPDT (dog training) certification, but you and your dog come first! I have a 7 foot tall fully fenced yard for your pup to explore, there are kennels available for those who need, and a plethora of dog beds, couches, and toys to keep your fur babies entertained. I also rent out Sniff Spots for extended stay guests to provide a fun adventure day!
About: I've worked at doggy daycare/boarding facilities for 4 years, and have plenty of experience with, sitting, feeding, and medication administration! Outside of professional experience, I've been around dogs my entire life, having been raised with 3 in my family. I do currently have a job, but I'm scheduled either SUPER early in the morning or late at night so I'll be able to hang out with your babies all day! I'm more than willing to stay overnight as well to ensure the best care. (: I put the utmost care into petsitting, and will do anything needed while dropping by to care for your babies. I've always put in the time to bond with any dog in my care, even the ones with separation anxiety or any other specific needs.

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. I know there are a lot of people on this site, who fluff their profiles and just do this for extra money. But, my life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a deep understanding of dog psychology and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining calm and assertive when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the east Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates and dog run fencing in our fenced backyard. Open to small dogs for boarding and daycare.
About: My childhood dog was German Shepard. Our family dog growing up is a pit bull, the biggest baby you have ever meet. And now, I'm a pet mom to a Cataula Leopard Mix and a chubby cat. I have a thing for holding full on conversations with dogs, even arguing with the from time to time. I love walking and getting plenty of fresh air, which I know your family member would appreciate that as well. I am adaptable, genuine, and a kind spirit. Most animals tend to gravitate towards me like I'm a Disney princess, and tend to baby them. I currently do work in the community, so health and wellness is a given. And I do my best to make sure your loved one is safe and happy. *I am remote and will be available throughout the day and stay with pups who need multiple breaks. I hope to hear and meet with you soon. Thanks for reading my profile! *ONLY ACCEPTING VISITS WITH 3 NIGHT MINIMUM Currently work remotely. I'm a pet owner of 2 (dog and cat). Will board at pet owners home only A nice walk, a treat and some cuddles tends to do the trick. From watching TV or offer some good amount of time outside together.
About: Animals have always been part of my life — from horses to fish, and most importantly, dogs. For the past 2+ years I’ve been a foster with the Portland Dachshund Rescue, caring for everything from energetic puppies to seniors with medical needs. Through local dachshund meetups and rescue work, I’ve become known as a trusted safe space for small dogs in the Portland community. What sets me apart is the blend of heart and hands-on skills: • Experience with senior dogs, medical care, and even injections when needed. • Specialized understanding of dachshunds and other small breeds. • A home set up with secure fencing and stairs for tiny dogs’ safety. • The flexibility of working from home most days, with the option to bring pups to the office on others. I treat every guest like my own — with patience, love, and individualized care. Most days I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of company and attention throughout the day. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I go into the office, but I can often bring a guest dog with me if needed, so they won’t be left alone. Because I only host up to two small dogs at a time (20 lbs and under), I can keep routines flexible — from regular potty breaks and short walks to cuddle breaks on the couch. My schedule is designed to give your pup a safe, consistent rhythm while you’re away. Whether your pup is staying at my townhome or I’m caring for them in yours, safety is always the top priority. My home is rescue-approved with secure fencing, pet stairs, and even an outdoor ramp in progress for tiny legs. Guests are always supervised, indoors and out. If I’m in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I understand the trust it takes to hand over your keys, and I’m happy to follow any security routines or send photos so you feel comfortable. My goal is simple: peace of mind for you, and a safe, happy experience for your pet.

The most important thing is how my fur baby is treated. Ariane is kind to my 1 y.o. energetic boxer. She was able to manage him, keep him safe, and brought him home happy and worn out. Obi likes her and trusts Ariane in his space and during the walk. As for the person-to-person interaction. Ariane is responsive, asks good questions to understand the dog parent's needs, and follows through. I'd recommend Ariane for your dog care needs. She's professional and easy to work with. She's on the top of my list to care for Obi in the future.
