“We had such a great experience! This family was incredibly welcoming and made my dogs feel right at home. Communication was excellent — they were quick to respond and kept me updated with photos throughout the stay. I especially appreciated how comfortable they made even my shy dog, who didn’t want to leave when it was time to go! Highly recommend and will definitely book again. 🐾 We had such a great experience! “It was Kimo's first overnight stay at Rebeca's home and it turned out great! He was a little nervous, but as the night progressed, he was able to relax and play with the other dogs. I am considering having Kimo go over once a week for doggie play dates. Rebeca was friendly and she has a calm demeanor, which I appreciated. I would recommend her to anyone within the Woodbridge area.”

“Chelsea provided a home away from home. We were very worried about leaving our new puppy with anyone so soon. We soon realized we made a great decision in selecting Chelsea to care for our puppy. He had caring people around him full-time and she sent photos every day. It was comforting to know he was being well cared for.”

“This was my pups first time staying with Mickey and friends and it was great! Mickey’s years of experience working with dogs and friendly demeanor with my pups, made me feel comfortable having them stay over. This was the first time in a while we were away from our pups so I was a bit anxious, but Mickey’s updates with pictures were very reassuring! Would definitely have him watch them again soon!”

“Just perfect. Michelle has a lovely home with a nice park and lake area in the backyard for the dogs to enjoy. Very safe area well away from roads. Michelle communicated very well, sent photos and updates, and was completely flexible with drop off and pickup times. Someone was home with my pup all the time and Zoey really seemed to love her stay with Michelle. Highly recommended.”

“This was our first time boarding our 2 dogs (ages 15 and 5) in a private home and this was the first time that our dogs returned from boarding with no signs of stress. Vanessa, Geoffrey, and Johanna have a great room set up for the dogs and were very accommodating to the needs of our 15 year old dog. They sent photos and messages throughout the week to assure us that our dogs were doing fine. We highly recommend Vanessa, Geoffrey, and Johanna and would not hesitate to board with them again.”

“Elizabeth and her family were great with my husky. They were flexible with my situation and ensured my dog was in a comfortable place. They took him to the dog park and treated him as part of their own family. Will definitely be using them again.”

About: Former doggy daycare, boarding and grooming owner. Trustworthy, always excited to exercise the pups. My coworkers include 2 year old golden (Finn) and 15 year old son. Getting out with Finn after work and on weekends brings me joy so I’d like to bring that same joy to other pups. Having a teenage son in an highly expensive sport and needing a car, I’ve decided to get back to walking and dog sitting: I walk daily with my Finn and want to provide the same walks to others that need it. Available everyday. Generally don’t walk after sunset but depending the lighting and area I could make an exception. I have a home with a large yard in Lorton across from trails and parks. The yard is fenced in everywhere but at the end of driveway.
“Emmanuel was great with our 2 dogs! One of them is a little nervous and he did everything he could to help his anxiety. He sent photos and videos every day. By the end of their stay, the dogs had moved in. Already booked their next stay!”

“We were so happy that Michelle was able to help us out last minute. She kept us updated with pictures and videos throughout Titans stay with her family. We will definitely book again for future stays.”

“Stacy was a wonderful choice for our dog Bella! She informed us when she was on the way, gave us updates with pictures of her at her home, and the communication was seamless! Her kids enjoyed the time with our dog as well! I highly recommend if you need a dog sitter! A+++++”

“Our baby stayed with Vicent for a week. He sent numerous pictures and videos. We specially loved the one on Valentine's Day. He is so thoughtful and loving towards Maggie May. We will definitely have him watch over our beloved puppy again <3”

“Highly Recommend! Youngri and her family took wonderful care of our senior dog. It was our first time leaving her with someone else for an extended period, but we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Youngri kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us peace of mind throughout our trip. She clearly understands dogs well and was very attentive to our dog’s needs. We felt completely comfortable and reassured the entire time. Thank you so much, Youngri!”

“1st time with Vronnie, definitely not the last. She is definitely a dog lover and someone who I would truly recommend as a sitter for your furbaby. She made both me and my pup feel welcome from the start during the meet & greet and sent photos throughout his stay with her.”

“Jizelle was fantastic! This was our first time boarding Whitney using Rover (or ever for that matter) and Jizelle made everything so easy. From initial communication, to meeting her and her lovely pups at the meet and greet, all of our interactions with Jizelle confirmed that Whitney was in great hands while we were away. Jizelle was also very flexible with a last minute request to shift the drop off earlier than planned and provided us with regular photos and updates to let us know how things were going - she even braved foot high snow and ice to ensure that Whitney had adequate walks and fresh air following a once-in-a-decade snowmageddon! I 100% plan to utilize Jizelle's boarding services going forwards and would not hesitate to give her my strongest recommendation.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience working closely with dogs, specializing in rescue work and fostering. Over the years, I have volunteered extensively with rescue organizations, which has given me deep knowledge of dog behavior, socialization, and the patience required to handle dogs from all backgrounds. One of my greatest passions is fostering. I regularly take care of vulnerable 40-day-old puppies in my own home, bottle-feeding them, providing early socialization, and nursing them to health until they find their forever families. Because of this intensive background, I am highly experienced in: • Caring for very young puppies and senior dogs with fragile needs. • Recognizing early signs of illness or stress in animals. • Administering strict feeding and medication schedules. • Providing structured, safe, and loving environments for anxious or nervous dogs. I work from home as an online yoga teacher, instructing classes for only 3 hours every day. Because my work is entirely online and takes up a small part of my day, I am at home dynamic and available nearly 24/7. Your dog will have my near-constant supervision, companionship, and attention. I can easily step away to give potty breaks, feed them on time, or play in between my short teaching sessions. If your dog needs someone who is around all day to keep them company and secure, my schedule is a perfect fit! Your dog’s safety and peace of mind are my top priorities. I treat every pet with the same level of care, respect, and responsibility as I do with the rescue puppies I foster. My home is a calm, peaceful, and fully puppy-proofed environment. I have a secure, fully fenced small yard (concrete/patio surface, no grass), which provides a perfectly safe outdoor space for your dog to stretch their legs, get some fresh air, and take quick potty breaks without any risk of escaping. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy, clean, and filled with positive energy. Since I practice and teach yoga here, it is a very serene environment that helps anxious or nervous dogs feel instantly relaxed. You can trust that your furry family member will be safe, supervised, and deeply cared for every single minute of their stay.

“I can't thank Jim enough for the incredible care he provided to Daisy. His genuine love for animals and unwavering dedication was evident in every interaction. From ensuring her comfort to keeping me updated with daily photos. I highly recommend Jim to anyone seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver for their furry friends.”
“Seyla was extremely communicative during our puppy’s long stay with him. Every day we received multiple videos and photos, including her daily meals. He let us know how she was adjusting behaviorally and there were numerous activities for our extremely energetic puppy to get into. Her behavior has actually improved since she’s come home. Even our kids think so. Very grateful to Seyla and we will make sure she stays with him going forward! Highly recommend!!”

“We had just moved from overseas, and she was very flexible and understanding throughout the process. Kaya can be nervous when meeting someone for the first time, but she was patient, considerate, and respectful of Kaya’s pace. She was understanding of the adjustment process for both Kaya and our family after an overseas move. We truly appreciated her care and would gladly trust her with Kaya again in the near future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wiley
We love Lilly and her family! They always take such great care of our dog. They have been watching her off and on for years, back when she was young and now that she’s older and has oral meds to take. She is always well cared for and it’s hard to get her to leave at the end of her stay!

Veronica was great with our dog. It was most important to us that she only took a single client at a time. She has two small dogs as well who get along very well with other dogs, including ours. She was very responsive and engaged and sent us daily updates and pictures, which was reassuring to us while we were on vacation.

Marcela was an amazing sitter for my senior dog, Coco, on all of the occasions that we booked with her! She was super accommodating and did a fantastic job with taking care of Coco and making sure he ate his medications and sticking to his diet. I can tell that Coco is really comfortable with Marcela and has a fun time when he is over!

John is great. My dog got along great with theirs. Maddy is 14 years old and has arthritis. He was very attentive and let me know she was limping one day and also kept an eye where I had cut her nail too short the day before dropping her off. He sent nice photos and gave frequent updates.

My experience with Azaria was fantastic. My dog can be a bit shy and suspicious with strangers but she worked her magic and had him feeling at ease. She was happy to accommodate for all of my instructions and his needs. She provided frequent updates so I never had to wonder how they were getting along. I wouldn't hesitate to book Azaria again!

Taylor did such a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs! While we were away we got constant updates about our doggies and lots of photos with them snuggling, eating, sleeping and even playing with other dogs! (which one of my dogs struggles with). I feel confident in rebooking with Taylor and will continue to recommend this lovely dog sitter to anyone :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wiley home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wiley.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Wiley sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
