Josh has been so great with our girl, Nala! He has been very reliable & Nala seems to really like him! She is a bigger dog & tends to pull a bit, and also is a bit reactive towards other dogs, but Josh is able to handle her just fine! I feel very comfortable with Josh walking Nala for us every week. Highly recommend him for your fur babies!

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover and the proud owner of my cat, Bubba, who has taught me a lot about patience, routine, and the small things that make pets feel safe. I’ve helped friends and family care for their dogs and cats for years: feeding, walks, playtime, medication, and just being a calm presence while they’re away. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to send photo updates so you know your pet is in good hands. Whether your dog needs a long walk or your cat just wants company, I’ll treat them like my own. I have a flexible schedule and can fit pet care into most parts of my day. I’m available for morning and evening walks during the week, drop-in visits midday, and longer stays on weekends. I’ll always confirm timing in advance and stick to the routine you set for your pet: consistency matters, especially for younger or older animals. I offer drop-in visits and walks at your home, so your pet stays in the environment they know best. I’ll follow your house rules, keep doors and gates secured, and send photo updates during each visit. I live with my cat Bubba in a calm, smoke-free home, so I’m comfortable around animals who are shy or take time to warm up. If anything seems off, appetite, behavior, or health, I’ll reach out right away.

About: My parents never owned a dog, but I have always dreamed of owning one myself. Until that day comes, I love to help take care of others. I have taken care of dogs of all ages from a senior dog to a young puppy. Now that I’ve graduated and started my full-time career, I bring a high level of professional responsibility and structure to my pet care. Starting August 1st, my routine is built around my 9-hour workday, which makes me an ideal match for independent dogs or cats who are well-adjusted to a standard work-week schedule and comfortable napping while their humans are away. During the week, pet care fits into my day as a 'bookend' routine: I provide plenty of exercise, feeding, and mental stimulation before I head to the office, and I dedicate my entire evening to quality time, play, and companionship as soon as I return. This structure works perfectly for house sitting, as I can provide a consistent and reliable presence in your home. On the weekends, my schedule is completely open, which is when I offer dog walking and drop-in visits for those needing extra adventures or check-ins. Whether I am staying overnight during the week or visiting for a weekend walk, you can count on me for a calm, dependable routine and frequent photo updates! I have grown up in a household with 3+ cats. I am a quiet person who has a knack for making animals feel comfortable in my presence. I love when they keep me company as I work. I dabble in pet photography and would love to expand my portfolio!

About: I have done a pretty good job of taking care of my own dog for a few years now as well as doing a good job taking care of my families dogs as well. I believe I am capable of doing so for others. I also believe I would be capable of fulfilling any other asks from the dogs owners. I am currently searching for a part time job but have a pretty flexible schedule as it is. Would be able to fit in some dog care whenever I have free time! I care for my pet by giving them constant care and making sure they stay on schedule for walks and food. If a dog has any other needs I make sure to make note of it and to make it

Shirley was absolutely wonderful. I was really nervous to leave my dog with a stranger but Shirley was amazing with my dog Maverick, who is a big 70lb pitbull mix. Shirley is great with communicating and sent plenty of pictures every time she walked Maverick which gave me peace of mind. I can’t recommend her enough!

Nicole was great! Murphy is a very energetic puppy and nicole was able to manage his energy while on walks and continue with our training regimen for him! She was excited to stay and play with Murphy for some TLC after his walks! She was on time and stayed for the chosen time slot we agreed on. Even accommodated to the bad weather we had! We will definitely be having her again to watch our Murphy!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 9,069 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Wheat Sheaf. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Wheat Sheaf. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Wheat Sheaf.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wheat Sheaf. On Rover:

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
