“Melissa and Dan were absolutely wonderful with my dog, Princess Leia. She’s a small terrier and very much a COVID puppy, so she hasn’t had a lot of exposure to other dogs. I was a bit nervous about leaving her while I went out of town for my 50th high school reunion, but Melissa and Dan put me at ease right away. From the start, my plan was to have Leia stay with them for two nights, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. They have a lovely fenced yard and several dogs of their own, which created the perfect environment for Leia to safely and gradually get used to being around other dogs. Dan works from home, so I knew she was getting plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. They kept me updated with several photos and messages showing how Leia was doing, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she was settling in well and getting comfortable in their home and with their dogs. When I picked her up, she was happy, relaxed, and seemed to have genuinely enjoyed her little “vacation.” I highly recommend Melissa and Dan for dog sitting. They truly love dogs, understand dog behavior, and provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment. I would not hesitate to book with them again.”

About: I love all animals and have had pets since I was very young. I have a lot of experience with cats, dogs and birds. I currently have 2 dogs and 2 birds and am also caring for a friend's chicks at the moment. I also do drop-ins for my neighbors dogs to give them potty breaks, play a little and give them some love and of course treats! I treat others homes and pets with the love and respect I do my own. I am available on weekdays, Monday through Friday, when my kids are in school between 9am and 3pm. I can do before 9am if given enough notice. Morning: My day typically starts with a morning walk, which I find is a great way to help the dogs get some fresh air and exercise first thing in the day. It’s also a peaceful time for them to explore and enjoy the quieter hours. Midday: Throughout the day, I ensure they have plenty of playtime, whether it’s in the backyard or inside with toys. I’m always attentive to their need for interaction and mental stimulation. Afternoon: In the afternoon, we usually go for another walk. This is a longer one, where we can explore local parks or walking trails, allowing the dogs to experience new sights and smells. Evening: As the day winds down, I focus on quieter activities like cuddling or gentle play, ensuring the dogs are calm and relaxed. Evening is also the time for dinner and any needed medications. Night: Before bedtime, there’s a short walk or a quick backyard visit, so the dogs are comfortable through the night. Throughout the day, I’m attentive to the dogs’ needs for food, water, and bathroom breaks. I also ensure they have a comfortable and safe space to rest. Being home most of the day allows me to provide constant companionship and supervision, ensuring that the dogs in my care are not just looked after, but also loved and cherished. Caring for pets, whether in my home or in a client’s home, is done with utmost attention to their comfort, safety, and happiness. My approach is tailored to each pet’s individual needs and preferences, ensuring they feel loved and secure in their environment. In My Home: • Safe Environment: I ensure my home is pet-proofed, with no hazards and plenty of cozy, comfortable spots for them to rest. • Routine: I maintain a consistent routine for meals, walks, and playtime, which helps pets feel secure and settled. • Play and Exercise: I provide plenty of playtime and exercise, tailored to the pet’s energy level and health. • Affection: I believe in plenty of cuddles and affection to make them feel at home. • Supervision: Continuous supervision is provided, ensuring their safety at all times. In Clients’ Homes: • Respect for the Home: I am meticulous about respecting the client’s space, ensuring it’s kept clean and secure. • Following Instructions: I strictly adhere to the pet care instructions provided by the client, respecting their routines and rules. • Updates: Regular updates with photos are sent to the client, keeping them connected with their pet’s activities and well-being. • Emergency Preparedness: I am prepared and informed about the pet’s needs and local veterinary services in case of an emergency. Common to Both: • Health Monitoring: I keep a close eye on the pet’s health and behavior, promptly addressing any concerns. • Hydration and Nutrition: Ensuring regular access to fresh water and feeding them as per their dietary requirements. • Medication Administration: If needed, I am experienced in administering medications. My goal is to provide a loving, fun, and safe experience for pets, giving them the care and attention they would receive from their own families.

“Melissa and Dan were absolutely wonderful with my dog, Princess Leia. She’s a small terrier and very much a COVID puppy, so she hasn’t had a lot of exposure to other dogs. I was a bit nervous about leaving her while I went out of town for my 50th high school reunion, but Melissa and Dan put me at ease right away. From the start, my plan was to have Leia stay with them for two nights, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. They have a lovely fenced yard and several dogs of their own, which created the perfect environment for Leia to safely and gradually get used to being around other dogs. Dan works from home, so I knew she was getting plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. They kept me updated with several photos and messages showing how Leia was doing, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she was settling in well and getting comfortable in their home and with their dogs. When I picked her up, she was happy, relaxed, and seemed to have genuinely enjoyed her little “vacation.” I highly recommend Melissa and Dan for dog sitting. They truly love dogs, understand dog behavior, and provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment. I would not hesitate to book with them again.”
