“Ayla took great care of our dog Pretzel! She kept us updated throughout the way and was always so kind with Pretzel, even asking to leave extra water for her before she left! Would highly recommend and will be reaching out to Ayla for more walks in the future!!”

About: Dog walking & sitting was my very first job, and has always remained my favorite. I am a mom to a 2 year old Cavalier King Charles boy but have cared for dogs of all sizes and ages, including older ones who require medications. I only work very part-time and am looking to make dog walking more a part of my weekly life! They say a job should be what you love doing and I love taking care of doggos. I can make your dog's care a priority, dedicating time and focus on them. I am punctual and trustworthy, and offer clear and consistent communication. I understand how it feels to leave your dog's care in someone else's hands. Sometimes we just have to! I will show up to your home on time, taking your doggo for the exercise they need, and making sure they have ample bathroom and play time.

About: I am a 19-year-old animal lover with over 6 years of pet-sitting experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. My passion for animals started at a young age, and beginning at 13, I regularly walked dogs for several neighbors. Through pet sitting, I have gained experience with animals of all sizes and personalities, from energetic puppies to horses and farm animals. I am dedicated to providing reliable, attentive care and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. 🐾 I currently work part-time at my family’s coffee shop, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I am often available for early morning visits before work, midday visits after my morning shift (typically around noon), and evening care as needed. I am reliable, responsible, and happy to work with pet owners to find a schedule that meets their pets’ needs. I also have a friendly bulldog who loves meeting new people and dogs. If your dog enjoys socializing and you’re comfortable with it, I can bring her along for company during visits. Of course, your pet’s comfort and preferences always come first, and I will only do this with your permission.
“Kate has been wonderful with walking my boy. She communicates well, is reliable, flexible and all around a good person. Unfortunately we are moving, I can only hope our next walker is as caring & good.”

“Jessica was a huge help for me with doing a drop in visit to give my English Setter a break as I’m at work. She was excellent with communication and using the Rover app for updates. I would definitely use Jessica again”

About: Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. Choosing care for your animal(s) can be a difficult decision. You want them to be in the very best hands while you're away. It's my goal to provide just that! My name is Ashley and I am an animal lover. My own pet sitter calls my house a little zoo. I have four cats, two frogs, and fish! I foster cats and kittens for two local rescues in my free time and get my puppy love through Rover. I am a nursing student and have a flexible schedule. I am located in the McCandless area, near North Park--a fantastic location for walking dogs! Whether you’re looking for someone to offer drop-in visits to check in on your animals while you’re away or would prefer that someone stay with them over night, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d love to meet your furry (or non-furry!) family member(s) and be their best friend while you’re away. I am currently a nursing student and have a flexible schedule! I am available for drop-ins, walks, or home stays to provide company for your pet(s)! I am able to offer pet care in my client's homes. This enables me to maintain existing routines for your pet(s) in an environment they are already familiar with and comfortable in.

About: Hello! My name is Izzy, I’m 21 years old, and I’m going into my senior year at Penn State while working at Rita’s Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp. I’m so excited to start my Rover journey! I’ve grown up with having dogs in my household all my life, from a 4 1/2 lb. Chihuahua to a chunky Toy Fox Terrier to a mighty but loving Rottweiler-Black Lab mix. I’ve also been tasked with taking care of my neighbor’s and friend’s dogs over the years, whether that be stopping over to give them food, bathroom breaks, and cuddles, or even staying overnight over the span of a week so the dog(s) don’t feel alone. Therefore, I’m hoping to be the best fit for you, too! Outside of dogs, I love to be in our pool when the weather is warm and being able to do so with my family, pick up new crafting hobbies like scrapbooking or embroidery, and go to concerts of a variety of artists (43 concerts and counting!), most recently being 5 Seconds of Summer. I can’t wait to start this opportunity and hopefully bring some relief to someone in need of dog-helping needs! I’m currently working part-time at Rita’s Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp., and the schedule always fluctuates between 4-6 hour shifts. I don’t have set days, but I’m typically scheduled one weekday and the Friday-Sundays, However, I have plenty of time outside of those shifts and always accommodate around them to ensure that all the dog’s needs are met. At home, I assist in letting our dogs play in our fenced-in backyard, giving them treats when they’ve behaved or done a trick we’ve taught them (sit and “paw”), taking them on neighborhood walks when it’s nice outside, assuring that their food and water are filled, and playing with them to get their zoomies out before everyone starts winding down for the night. Outside of my home, if there is not a fenced-in backyard, I’ve taken the dog(s) outside on leashes for bathroom purposes, as well as do all actions mentioned above from what I do at home. Some houses have also had puppy pads when necessary, and I always take appropriate measures to clean up any messes and re-lay down a fresh puppy pad.
“So if you are looking for a breath of fresh air for an animal sitter do not look any further. Jodi went beyond just taking care of our dog who is a lab 60 Ibs. Down to every detail I ask her to do she did plus did more. She brought out our garbage to the curb and brought in our mail each day. We had a camera which we told her we had. When we had a chance to look at it she was interacting with our dog, excited to be there and our dog always greeted her with a wagging tail and his toy. She walked him each visit and did not care about the 1/2 hour she had to be there. She stayed as long as he did his business and was happy. She truly loves her job and it shows. If you are reading this review please beware of dog sitters that have good reviews. We do have a camera (which we tell each of them) and have seen dog sitters sit on the chair waiting for the 1/2 hour to be up. They leave back door open and just stand there while the dog is outside for 10 minutes then they leave. When we ask to walk the dog they have an excuse why they did not walk like the weather. Jodi is a gem and nothing like the negative comments I wrote. I will definitely be hiring her again!!”

About: Hello! I'm a long time dog sitter who took a few years hiatus while starting a family. I have a high energy but aging Vizsla (Cooper), a new to the family rescue shiba inu (Winston), two young children (4, 1) and a husband who works from home most days. I love all animals but have a special place in my heart for dogs. I would love to treat your pet like family while you are away! Why I love dog sitting I have always loved dogs, ever since I was a little girl. Some of my earliest memories are me snuggling and playing with my first dog, a beautiful black lab named Winchester. I had years with a beloved boxer named Ebony that mark most of my childhood and the best Christmas I ever had was when my parents surprised me with Lionel, our family goldendoodle, as a puppy. I have grown up with dogs and can't imagine a life without a furry friend in it. My experience administering medication I'm a nurse practitioner so I regularly deal with medications and would be willing to help your pet as long as I am given proper instructions on how to give the medication safely! I work full time but have some flexibility with my hours. My husband works from home most days so your pup would generally have one of us home to play with them and care for them while you are away. We have young children so we are rarely out long or late! I have a large fenced back yard with plenty of space for your pup to play with mine! I take safety very seriously and monitor all playtime between your dog and mine.
About: I have shared my life with many dogs, cats, and horses. I’ve have never not had a dog in my home. I understand personally the cherished place pets occupy in the hearts of their families. It would be my pleasure to provide you with peace of mind about your pet’s welfare while you are at work or enjoying your vacation. I drive school bus in the morning and afternoon. I can drop in between bus runs to take your dog for a walk and perform a welfare check for your cats or large animals. I am available to stay with your pets while you’re on vacation, or we can arrange for me to stop in throughout the day instead. I can stay in your home to care for your pets while you’re on vacation. I can check on them, or walk them between my school bus runs Monday through Friday, and I have weekends off to be with them full time.
“We used Amy for dog walking. She was very accommodating and reliable! It was on short notice and she made time to come and meet our dog and was flexible with her schedule. We will definitely use Amy again!”

About: I have owned and taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages. I have also managed dogs with severe anxiety and certain health issues. I am a college student so until May I am limited to weekends. After May, I will be available workdays and weekends during the day and at night. I have confident skills in understanding dog and cat language from past experiences. I am also great at handling and crating dogs at their own comfort level.
About: I’ve been taking care of pets since I was little and my neighbor would have me walk their dogs or watch them when they went on vacation. I love pets! My camera roll is full of photos of all the animals in my life. I love walking, playing, and chilling with pets of all kind. I’ll provide reliable and trustworthy care for your fur babies! I’m currently working part time- with shifts no longer than 4 hours at a time, meaning I’ll have plenty of time to take care of your pets!! I’m a college student back for summer break so I have lots of free time and want to be getting outside on walks more. I’ve previously stayed in client’s homes to watch their pets. My approach to that is to go with the flow of the pets and their owners- following their routines and habits. Additionally, it’s incredibly important to be respectful in someone’s space.
About: As a compassionate animal enthusiast with over 25 years of experience, I am dedicated to providing exceptional care for your pets. Drawing from my diverse background as a mother, military veteran, and preschool teacher, I have built strong caregiving skills. In addition, in the past I have worked professionally as a veterinary technician for three years. Throughout my life, I have had the pleasure of owning various pets, including cats, dogs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, fish, pygmy goats, guinea pigs, turtles, and leopard geckos. Currently, I care for an English bulldog, a cat, and three guinea pigs. Having relocated to the Pittsburgh area in June 2024, I am excited to offer customized care solutions for your pet. As a preschool teacher with summers off, I am well-suited to provide your pets with the love, attention, and care they require, treating them with the same kindness I show my own pets. My availability during the school year is limited to nights, weekend, and holiday breaks. I am currently working as a preschool teacher. This gives me the whole summer off which allows me to be very flexible to care for your pets when you can't. I am committed to keeping your pet on the schedule you and your family want for them. All while keeping them safe and loving them.

About: My family always had quite a few pets growing up. Not just cats and dogs. We had birds, reptiles, fish and farm animals. It wasn’t always easy but it was worth it. Now it’s just my pup Beef, making friends around the neighborhood. My schedule is fairly flexible. Making a regular schedule is always preferred, but last minute requests are welcome. Not all days and pets are the same! I do prefer to care for pets at their owners home, at least at first, where they’re comfortable. If the pet is more independent, walks and feeding can be of service. My pup, Beef loves to play and has brought other dogs out of their shell to socialize. So if they get along, he would be there for our walks and playtime.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
