About: Dog walking & sitting was my very first job, and has always remained my favorite. I am a mom to a 2 year old Cavalier King Charles boy but have cared for dogs of all sizes and ages, including older ones who require medications. I only work very part-time and am looking to make dog walking more a part of my weekly life! They say a job should be what you love doing and I love taking care of doggos. I can make your dog's care a priority, dedicating time and focus on them. I am punctual and trustworthy, and offer clear and consistent communication. I understand how it feels to leave your dog's care in someone else's hands. Sometimes we just have to! I will show up to your home on time, taking your doggo for the exercise they need, and making sure they have ample bathroom and play time.

Briauna has been such a blessing to me and my pup! She has gone above and beyond to help me with not only walks but taking time to walk to my apartments management to get her own key working and being so easy going with a couple changes as I just moved to a new residence. It is the biggest relief for me to feel I have someone extremely kind and caring showing up daily to help my pup get his walks and potty while I am working and unable to give him as much time outside as I would like. I am very picky about who cares for him and enters the house and I can tell you I am very grateful to have Briauna to help us! Couldn’t recommend her more!

About: I’ve been around animals for most of my life. I’m the friend people trust to take care of their dogs/cats while they go away. I’m adjustable to different breeds and needs. I will give them the attention and love they’re used to. I love going on walks so I will be just as excited to go! I am currently balancing being in school, but I am open to finding a time that works for both of us. Feel free to message me. ☺️ I understand every furry friend is different and I am adaptable to learn their routine! When I am in your home I will do what is possible to make them feel happy and safe.

About: I’ve spent my entire life caring for animals and have experience with everything from dogs and cats to horses, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. Professionally, I worked at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, one of the nation’s leading veterinary hospitals, where I gained hands-on experience supporting animal health and recognizing changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, and overall wellness. I also helped train dogs through Wildcat Service Dogs, which taught me how to work with dogs of different temperaments, reinforce training, and build trust through consistency and positive interactions. In addition to my animal experience, my healthcare background has made me highly dependable, detail-oriented, and attentive to safety. Whether your pet needs a long walk, medication, extra exercise, specialized care, or simply companionship while you’re away, I tailor my approach to their individual needs. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every animal in my care with the same patience, attention, and affection I give my own. My schedule allows me the flexibility to provide reliable care throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays when available. Animal care is already part of my everyday life. I currently care for dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and other animals, so maintaining feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication administration, and daily enrichment is second nature to me. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I make every effort to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my highest priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, medical needs, and any special instructions before care begins. Pets staying with me enjoy access to 30 fully fenced acres in Gibsonia, providing plenty of room for exercise, enrichment, sniffing, and play in a secure environment. All outdoor time is supervised, and activities are tailored to each dog’s energy level, age, and comfort. With experience in veterinary medicine, service dog training, and caring for a wide variety of animals, I am comfortable administering medications, monitoring for signs of illness or distress, and handling pets with unique behavioral or medical needs. I provide frequent updates and photos so owners can enjoy peace of mind while they’re away.

About: I grew up in a home full of animals, including dogs, cats, and birds, so caring for pets has been a big part of my life from an early age. Over the years I’ve developed a calm, patient l approach to training and have successfully worked on manners and basic cues with every pet I’ve owned. I recently finished my master’s degree at Carnegie Mellon University and now work in the entertainment industry, which gives me a flexible, creative schedule and a strong sense of responsibility and communication. I share my life with a 3‑year‑old beagle named Patti LuPup, and we love spending time in nature together exploring trails and parks. Because I’m so used to reading different animal personalities, I’m comfortable with shy, energetic, or quirky pets and always focus on making them feel safe, engaged, and loved. Whether it’s a leisurely walk, active playtime, or quiet company, I’ll treat your pet like part of my own family. I am currently in between work after finishing my masters program, so my availability is flexible as I am working freelance at the moment. I am very happy to coordinate to best service you! I have a calm beagle of my own, and we have a large fenced in yard. Many parks are close by with trails and dog parks.

Heather does an amazing job with my 2 pups!! She makes sure they have on their coats or harnesses depending on the cold temps. My pups enjoy the long walks with her and being able to sniff at their own pace!! The pups get so excited to see her! Definitely would recommend Heather to take care of your pets!!

I reached out to more than eight dog walkers, and Stephanie was far and away the most reliable, punctual, communicative and considerate. She walked our dog Mia twice a day for an hour for two weeks straight (one weekend excepted, as she was at a wedding). On at least one occasion, she came early (with notice) to get the walk in before some rain, and on another, she heard popping sounds at the park (which scare my dog), and drove 15 minutes out of her way to another park. My mom, who worked with Stephanie for the pick ups and drop offs, can't say enough good things about her. We will definitely work with her again and likely be setting up weekly walks if she's available.

About: As a compassionate animal enthusiast with over 25 years of experience, I am dedicated to providing exceptional care for your pets. Drawing from my diverse background as a mother, military veteran, and preschool teacher, I have built strong caregiving skills. In addition, in the past I have worked professionally as a veterinary technician for three years. Throughout my life, I have had the pleasure of owning various pets, including cats, dogs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, fish, pygmy goats, guinea pigs, turtles, and leopard geckos. Currently, I care for an English bulldog, a cat, and three guinea pigs. Having relocated to the Pittsburgh area in June 2024, I am excited to offer customized care solutions for your pet. As a preschool teacher with summers off, I am well-suited to provide your pets with the love, attention, and care they require, treating them with the same kindness I show my own pets. My availability during the school year is limited to nights, weekend, and holiday breaks. I am currently working as a preschool teacher. This gives me the whole summer off which allows me to be very flexible to care for your pets when you can't. I am committed to keeping your pet on the schedule you and your family want for them. All while keeping them safe and loving them.

About: I’ve had pets of all kinds ever since I was little and have always had a strong love for animals. I said goodbye to my Shih Tzu in 2019, who lived a happy 15 years and now I have two goofy and loving sister cats. I have four years of experience dog-sitting, caring for both large and small breeds, as well as two years of cat-sitting experience with both single- and multi-cat households. I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm currently working full-time, but I work remotely so I’m flexible during the week to do drop-ins or longer stays and fully available on the weekends. I always believe I’m leaving someone’s home better than I’ve come into it, whether that’s doing the last dish in the sink or having fresh flowers for when you return home. I treat your home with respect and your pet(s) as family. I double-check that doors are locked and happy to care for plants while I’m there.

About: Hi, I am an avid animal lover and used to volunteer at animal friends. I dog and turtle sit for a family friend when their away and I also used to cat sit for a lady with several cats and watch my friends cats when she's away. When I pet sit, I'd go and give the animals clean water, play with them, give them food, for cats change their litters, for turtles let them walk around outside their cage for enrichment for dogs I either let them out in the backyard or take them on walks. I am a firm believer in staying and giving as much of my attention to all animals for as long as possible and treating them as if they were my own pets. Pay rate is flexible. My availability is very flexible. Hope to hear from you soon!

Emma has been wonderful over the past few months caring for our cannoli. She’s always reliable, caring, and great with our dog, and we truly appreciate the peace of mind she gives us each week. Today, she went above and beyond by helping feed him and give his medication while he’s been recovering, which meant so much to us. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
