About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 12. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. We've plenty of time to play with your pups! It is important for us to know whether your pet gets along with other dogs and is friendly with kids. We would also want to know if your pet has a tendency to dig or chew on furniture or shoes so we can make the necessary accomodations. Also it’s important to know if your pet has any preexisting medical conditions and/or requires any medication or supplements to be administered We have a fenced in front and backyard. However, dogs are allowed both inside and outside our home. We also believe in taking dogs on multiple walks a day to give them the exercise they need.
“She’s awesome. My dog has separation anxiety so he cries wanting me to come back but she kept him entertained and he was happy to see her the following day :) honestly. Sweet girl I would trust my dog with! 10/10 couldn’t recommend enough!”

“Andy and his Dad Julio were phenomenal. They gave me updates and my dog got to play with other dogs! They even let him on the couch since he’s hypoallergenic and doesn't shed. They sent pictures and updates. And most importantly tried to keep him as cool as possible in the hot Miami heat. That goes a long way. Definitely recommend. I will be booking again.”

“Sarah took my very last minute request on Xmas eve and was so accommodating! I love that Buffy my dog was well taken care of and loved, when I picked her up she already seemed bonded to Sarah. Thank you for taking care of my baby!”

About: Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a golden retriever, and my Australian shepherd was my best friend from the time I was 21 until I recently lost him. I've spent a lot of time around high-energy dogs like Aussies and doodles, I helped raise and train a hyper little mini doodle for a friend, walking him, teaching him tricks, and potty training him every day. I've also watched my neighbors dogs for long hours while they were at work, so I'm used to dogs who need company through the day. And I know what it's like to care for a dog that's slowing down. My Aussie had Degenerative Myelopathy and dementia toward the end, so I have real patience and experience with senior dogs who need extra help getting around. Whether your dog wants a long walk or run or just gentle, patient attention, I'll take good care of them. I work from home, so I have plenty of time to give your dog attention throughout the day. I'm available daily or on weekends: morning, night, or anytime during the day. In my home: I live in a second-floor apartment with a quick, easy exit to outside. There's a huge lawn and walking area right nearby, so getting your dog out for potty breaks and walks is simple. Inside, I keep toys on hand, always have fresh water and food available, and the apartment stays cool and comfortable with AC. In your home: I'll respect your space and stick to your dog's normal routine feeding, walks, playtime, and potty breaks on their usual schedule. I'm happy to follow any house rules or instructions you leave, keep things tidy, and make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable in their own environment.
“As a dog mom, we get very nervous about leaving our doggy babies. Today, I was fortunate to meet Xavier and his mom and they were a joy. Milo was a little timid at first but once he saw Xavier’s mom he was mushy. They kept me updated with pictures and communication was great. I’m very happy with the service we received and comfortable with letting Milo stay with them again.”

“Penelope responded quickly to my late (after 1:00 am) last minute day care request and took great care of Prince! She sent us very cute photos and a brief video. Thanks Penelope!!!”

“I had an excellent experience leaving Mila with Gillian. She was very attentive and kept me updated with photos throughout the stay, which gave me great peace of mind. She also took the time to ask about Mila’s preferences and any special instructions, showing how much she truly cares. Gillian is both professional and kind, and I would absolutely trust her again for future care. Highly recommended!”

“Amy was amazing. She clearly loves dogs. Throughout the day, she gave me updates on my sweet puppy. She offered advice with him, since she knows I’ve only had him a few days, and she also offered to help train him. She goes above and beyond and I highly recommend her.”

“Sebastian and his wife did a great job at caring for Zimba. They made him play and even cooked home made grain free treats for him! I was updated several times through the day and they also sent me photos of my pooch sleeping, playing etc. I could not help it but rebook more stays with them. I have a great piece of mind knowing that I can tend to my work schedule when it gets crazy, and zimba has two new friends to hang out and spend the day with. I am very thankful I found them!”

Marielys is a star sitter! I asked her to mind Brodi for a few hours while I went to see a match at the Miami stadium, and she took very good care of her. She shared photos which made me feel at ease ❤️ I especially appreciated the extra gesture of accommodating my many requests, including a later pick up when i was stuck in traffic. She and Jefa (her pittie) are both super sweet 😌 Thank you again!

By the third day both Betty and Charlie were so excited to see Paola when she came to pick them up. I have another day booked for them with Paola. I highly recommend Paola!!

Jules had a wonderful time. We were in town and neededa sitter on short notice. Monique accommodated us and we were much appreciative and she sent updates throughout his stay. This was extremely comforting for us since this was our first time using Rover or a sitter for Jules. Will definitely call again if the need arises.

Nancy was an absolutely wonderful dog sitter! She was reliable, caring, and clearly loves what she does. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. She kept me updated and treated my pup like her own. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, which says it all. I would 100% recommend Nancy to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind dog sitter.

Rita is amazing with our dogs. We have three catahoula leopard dogs who have a pack mentality. She understands this and is the one person who gives us peace of mind that our dogs are in good hands. She even gave the dogs extra padding in their crate to keep them comfy. Rita sent me with photos and kept me updated so our family could enjoy a vacation together. We truly appreciate Rita!

Leaving our boys, Rex and Remington, for the first time was nerve-wracking, but Penelope was absolutely amazing! She sent us tons of pictures and videos throughout the day, and it was clear they were having the best time. She even did a back-to-school photoshoot with them! We were so worried to leave them, but Penelope made us feel so comfortable, and we now feel great about leaving our boys with her. We can't thank her enough!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
