Jack was the absolute best! He took the best care of my senior dog who has to get daily eye drops. I would highly recommend Jack if you’re looking for someone trustworthy, considerate, and animal loving. He sent me many photos while I was away which was very thoughtful. Can’t say enough good things about Jack!

About: For the past five years, I’ve had the joy of caring for pets right here in our neighborhood, building a reputation as a reliable and loving sitter. Because I also have extensive experience as a neighborhood babysitter, safety, scheduling, and giving undivided attention are second nature to me. Whether it's keeping a high-energy pup entertained or making sure a shy cat feels safe, I treat every animal with the same patience and care I bring to childcare. As a proud pet mom myself to my dog, Indigo, and my two cats, I completely understand how important a routine is. I know firsthand that dogs and cats have very different personalities and needs, and I'm fully equipped to handle both! From structured walks and playtime to feeding schedules and cozy cuddle sessions, your furry family members will be in safe, experienced, and loving hands while you're away. Because I work part-time, my routine is structured directly around my shifts. I always coordinate my exact visit times with you in advance so you know exactly when to expect me! As an experienced cat mom of two felines and a long-time neighborhood babysitter, I know that every cat has a totally unique personality. Whether your kitty is a social butterfly who craves attention or a shy hider who needs their space, I tailor my visits entirely to their comfort level. During every visit, you can expect: Reliable Routines: I strictly follow your feeding schedules, fresh water refills, and specific treats or medication routines. Spotless Litter Boxes: Cleanliness is a top priority for me—I keep the litter area tidy and scooped during every visit. Playtime & Cuddles: For playful kitties, I’ll bring out the laser pointers, wand toys, and catnip. For calmer cats, I'm happy to provide gentle chin scratches or quiet companionship. Great Communication & Updates: You’ll get detailed updates and plenty of cute photo check-ins so you never have to wonder how your furry friend is doing. Safety First: My 5 years of experience looking after neighborhood pets and children means I am incredibly vigilant about closed doors, secure locks, and a safe environment. I treat your home with total respect and your cats like they are my own family!

Kathryn stayed at our home for 12 days taking care of our three chihuahuas. She was incredibly helpful, communicated well (including sending photos and videos of our dogs every day), took great, loving care of our dogs, and left our home clean and ready for us when we returned. We would definitely recommend and we will be requesting Kathryn's help next time we travel!

About: I’ve had English Springer Spaniels my entire life, so being around dogs has always been second nature to me. Growing up with energetic, affectionate dogs taught me how important exercise, attention, patience, and play are for keeping dogs happy and healthy I currently work at a marina during weekdays but work at my own schedule. I am happy to drop everything and anything I need in order to take care of your pup. I provide attentive, reliable in-home pet care to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and stress-free in their own environment. About: Don’t see that I’m available when you’d like to book? Please feel free to message me, and I’ll see if I can accommodate. Thank you for your interest! PLEASE NOTE: I WORK A FULL-TIME JOB IN AN OFFICE (based in Juno Beach) and may not be able to check on your pets as frequently as you’d like, especially during the day. I have experience caring all kinds of animals, personally and professionally for more than 10 years. Growing up and through adulthood, my family always owned Golden Retrievers. When I was young, I expressed interest in animal care and owning my own pets, ranging from small mammals, birds, and reptiles. In my teenage years, I started out pet sitting for family friends and have continued to pick up pet/house sitting gigs whenever and wherever I can. I also have experience administering medication to some of the animals I’ve cared for. Professionally, I have worked at a veterinary hospital and boarding facility for two summers. At this facility, I was responsible for the care and socialization of dogs of various sizes and demeanors. I also worked at my local humane society caring for cats and dogs with different lead styles, temperaments and bite thresholds. I was responsible for providing the dogs with three walks a day. Through this job, I also have some experience with clicker training and administering bordatella and rabies vaccines to incoming stray dogs. Looking to make extra money doing what I love! I do work full time, so my most open days for all services are Saturday and Sunday. However, I can accommodate AM drop in visits any day of the week. And I am open to pet sitting in your home any day, as long I can work it around my full time job. I provide regular photos and updates to owners to build and instill trust. I also make sure to follow care instructions as written to ensure proper care as intended. And I make sure to bring a calm and confident energy when entering and inhabiting your pet’s space. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priority!

About: I’ve dog sat dogs from under 10 lbs to over 100 lbs. I am a Foster Dog Dad for Peggy Adams Animal Rescue. I have fostered dogs for them almost 90 lbs with perfect personalities and healthy to dogs weighing 15 lbs who have issues with marking and three different medications they are taking. I work full-time but I go home for lunch and I’ve brought my dogs that I have fostered to work with me if they have separation anxiety. Play time after work. Going on walks upwards of 2 miles. Lots of fun play time on the weekends. I care for my fosters in my home. They have access to toys and plenty of space to move around. I don’t crate the dogs I’ve fosters. They get treated like a dog would be treated by their owner. Lots of love, attention, and care.

And when I got back from my trip I noticed Gyan bought him a new toy. The care and detail that Gyan had was great; much appreciated!!

We had a last minute need for a sitter and our usual sitter was not available. I am always nervous about using a new sitter, but Jill’s profile seemed like she could be a good fit. She came for a meet and greet that day, and after meeting her in person I felt comfortable with her sitting for us. Jill spent the weekend with our dog and did a great job. She followed our instructions perfectly, making sure our dog was safe, fed, and well cared for while we were gone. We received photo updates and she was quick to respond to our texts. Our house was in perfect condition when we arrived home. She’s a trustworthy, calm, and responsible person who I don’t hesitate to recommend. We will book with Jill again!

Siddonie did an absolute AMAZING job taking care of our german shepherd, Luna! Our previous sitter cancelled the DAY OF our cruise while we were already boarding the ship so I was panicking, but Siddonie was able to drop everything and take care of our sweet girl. FAQs for House Sitting - West Palm Beach

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in West Palm Beach on Rover is $64.27 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,006 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Palm Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Palm Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Palm Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Palm Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Palm Beach. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
