“Monique took care of our fur babies for a day and overnight. She did a good job with the dogs and they loved her. She was flexible and was able to do a short notice. She kept us updated with a lot pictures of our dogs.”

“Emma saved us! I had a last minute (same day) need for a week long sitter for my two dogs while my family was out of town and Emma was able to make it work. I really appreciate that when house sitting, Emma makes it clear that spending quality time with the dogs is her priority. She did a great job communicating with me and sending photo updates.”

“Melinda is the best dog sitter hands down. She provides frequent updates and pictures and took great care of our home. I will definitely use her in the future. She is a gem.”

“We are so grateful to Brooke for the amazing care she gave our dog, Sasha! This was the first time we had ever left Sasha, and we were naturally a bit nervous, but Brooke was truly wonderful. She made sure Sasha got plenty of walks, playtime, and snuggles, and even handled a surprise power outage without missing a beat. Brooke kept us updated and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Sasha was clearly in great hands, and we wouldn’t hesitate to call on Brooke again. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been a cat parent all my life, and all-around animal lover. Now, I have two dogs (Damon and Matcha) and two kitties at home, all rescues. About half the time, I also volunteer to foster puppies that need homes, so I'm very experienced with dogs of all ages. Serving the Sterling area; I live across the street from Claude Moore park and love to explore the trails with four-legged friends. Summertime makes for the most gorgeous pictures, and I love capturing your fur babies on camera! I love all breeds, especially if they have good manners, but larger and more playful dogs will have the best time playing with my 3-year-old dog, Matcha. Caring for fur-babies is currently my full-time job, whether that's customers, fosters, or my own brood. I love all size dogs and cats! Most of the time, when I come into your home, your animals will let me know what their routine is! But specific instructions will help me out a lot too and are always appreciated.

“Sydney was great. She took care of our two pups for eight days. One of which is sweet but reactive to dogs she does not know. We asked her to stay an extra day so we could spend one more night at the beach and she reorganized her schedule....she if very nice to work with.”

“Beth is fabulous! Took great care of my special-needs guy, keeping in great contact with us and allowing me to feel confident while we were away that he was being taken great care of!”
“Almendra was wonderful. Bernese Mountain dog- Wilbur- and Samoyed puppy-Charlotte loved her. She was communicative and asked thoughtful questions to ensure the pups were well taken care of!”

“Haeun Esther was by far the best pet/house sitter we've had over the past 10 years. (And we've had quite a few with various sitters moving out of the area.) Our girls loved her from the first moment they met and I have one very shy girl who typically takes a long time to warm up to new people. I received frequent daily updates with photos. One of my girls decided not to eat and threw up the first night. She let me know right away and we devised a plan to address the issue, which worked well. Haeun Esther left our home clean and there were no issues. Our girls were very relaxed and happy to see us. I would absolutely recommend Haeun Esther as your pet sitter and will hire her again.”

About: Our family of five discovered just how much joy a dog can bring when we welcomed our Coton de Tulear, Kova, into our home. Since then, caring for him has become something we all enjoy—from walks and playtime to simply spending time together. Kova is naturally a little anxious, so he’s taught us to be patient, observant, and respectful of every dog’s unique personality and comfort level. We’ve also experienced what it’s like to trust someone else with a beloved pet when we’ve traveled, and those positive experiences inspired us to become Rover sitters ourselves. My goal is to provide the same peace of mind to other families by treating every dog with kindness, patience, and genuine affection. For me, pet sitting isn’t just about feeding and walks—it’s about making sure each dog feels welcomed, comfortable, and loved until they’re back with their family. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because we already plan our days around Kova. Every day includes walks, outdoor time, play, meals, and plenty of companionship. Since either my wife or I work from home every day, someone is almost always home to provide attention, potty breaks, exercise, and care throughout the day. We’re also happy to follow your dog’s normal schedule, including meal times, medications, favorite activities, or any special instructions that help them feel comfortable. Your dog’s safety and comfort are our highest priorities. We have a fully fenced backyard for supervised play and live in a quiet neighborhood that’s perfect for walks. We take the time to make sure every dog settles in at their own pace and can provide separate space if they prefer a quieter environment. We’ll carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding routines, medications, exercise, and any special needs. To help you feel connected while you’re away, we’ll send at least one daily update with photos so you can see how your dog is doing and enjoy your time away with confidence.
“We had Kally at our home while we were away, and felt so comfortable having her watch Ruby. She is extremely prompt, kind, and felt like she truly cared for the wellbeing of our fur baby. She kept us up to date with photos and videos that made our time away less stressful. Will definitely be booking Kally again in the future for our pet sitting needs!”

About: Growing up, my family has owned many dogs and other pets, and I have always been heavily involved in their care. I had a dog walking business a few years ago, and I regularly watched the dogs of our friends and neighbors. My family also fostered a dog for a time, which I was heavily involved in. Over the last year, I have had the opportunity to walk and care for many different dogs through Rover. Throughout all of these experiences, I have had to care for many different types of dogs, both big and small, and old and young. As a result, I am comfortable with all types of breeds and know how to navigate challenges when it comes to pet care. Most importantly, I love dogs! I am available every day of the week from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. I am very flexible and can always find time to accommodate other schedules. Please check my calendar for any days marked unavailable. When caring for dogs in the homes of others, I make sure that they are comfortable, well fed, and loved. When walking dogs, I always make sure to go at their pace, pick up after them, and keep them safe.
About: I have owned my dog for the past 9 years, but sadly lost him to cancer this past year, so I have experience for taking care of elderly sick dogs. I have also taken care of foster dogs of all ages all throughout college! I am entrepreneur and time is super flexible for me. I am able to work with people’s crazy schedules and be there for your pets when needed! I care for any ones pets the same way I would care for mine. Always making sure that they are happy, well fed, and walked.

“Rosemary was incredibly easy to work with to schedule our meet and greet and travel dates. Our dogs and cats immediately took to her. Rosemary sent many pictures while we were away. All of our pets were happy and well cared for while we were away.”

About: I am a caring and dependable pet lover who enjoys spending time with animals and making sure that they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. I have experience caring for pets by feeding them, taking them for walks, and playing with them. Additionally, I provide them with plenty of attention and affection while understanding their unique personality and routine. I have a genuine love for animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. I would love to care for your pet while you are away, and you can count on me to provide a safe and trustworthy experience. I am available most Wednesdays, and usually every Thursday and Friday as well as flexibility on the weekends. I have a hybrid work schedule and can often wiggle around my schedule which gives me great flexibility and options for pet care. When caring for pets in my clients’ home, I would try my best to follow their usual routines as closely as possible so that pets feel comfortable and secure. I make it a point to ensure that they have freshwater food and plenty of exercise and playtime. I also respect my clients’ home by keeping everything clean, secure, and organized.

Emma was GREAT! We have two dogs and two cats and we’re gone for 9 days so there a lot for her to take on. We came home to a clean and tidy space and happy pets. Emma is communicative, helpful with the random needs and requests that came, responsive when we checked in. She sent us updates and photos so we knew they were in great hands. When you’re hiring someone to sit with your babies in your home it requires a lot of trust. Emma lived up to our expectations and hopes. I am so grateful we met her. I HIGHLY recommend Emma for housesitting and pet care!

Sydney was great. She took care of our two pups for eight days. One of which is sweet but reactive to dogs she does not know. We asked her to stay an extra day so we could spend one more night at the beach and she reorganized her schedule....she if very nice to work with.

Jake was great! Inde seemed to really enjoy her time with him. We received updates while we were away, as well as pictures. Our apartment was also left completely clean. Will absolutely be booking him again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sitter.

Ellie was a wonderful sitter. We were a little worried at first, as Ellie is younger than the usual sitters we have, but she surpassed our expectations! Both our cat and dog were very relaxed; Ellie ensured that both our pets were comfortable. It's tough enough to manage one pet, so the fact that Ellie was able to manage both our pets together proves her competence. We will definitely be hiring Ellie again in the very near future 🐶😺

Polly is wonderful with Lenny. She understands his wishes to run away and keeps him close and tight so he is safe. They had happy walks together Lenny enjoyed Polly’s son who even had Lenny singing/howling with him. I love having Lenny stay with Polly. I know he will be safe and happy
Beth is a wonderful pet sitter. She stays at our condo with our 2 dogs. We have used her multiple times and for some longer (2 weeks) trips. The dogs are always happy to see her and I know they get lots of attention and love. Beth goes beyond expectations with communication- she replies quickly and always puts our mind at ease. We highly recommend Beth.

We were extremely nervous about leaving our high energy 90 lb dog and our spoiled princess of a cat for our 12 day vacation. Sophia is responsible, smart, energetic, and patient. She sent numerous pictures and updates daily which really allowed us to relax knowing the animals were doing well. Sophia was very communicative via text keeping us informed of their eating habits and activities. Both animals thrived under Sophia’s care! She started out as our pet sitter but honestly feels now like she’s part of our family.

Amulya, was so helpful when our other sitter had to cancel at the last minute. She took great care of our senior doggie. I felt at ease leaving Robin with Amulya. She sent lots of pictures and communicated with me throughout our time away. She made Robin comfortable and even carried her up the stairs when she struggled bc of her arthritis. She is not a small dog. Amulya is super kind and I will not hesitate to use her in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Waxpool on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 9,595 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Waxpool. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waxpool walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waxpool maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waxpool choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waxpool. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
