About: I treat all animals as if they are my own ( even the wild ones :') ). I provide my own pets with consistent, routine driven training that keeps them stimulated while also building the bond between us. Whether a cat, dog, or other furry friends, you can count on me to show them the love and care that they deserve. I love taking my dogs for a walk or just sitting and talking with them. Routine training and walking has helped me be successful when I have owned/trained my dogs. Calm, consistent leadership is so important in the dynamic of my animals and I. Both of my dogs are crate trained, walked twice daily to keep their minds stimulated, and PLAYTIME! Lots of playtime throughout the day. I cannot be with my dogs all day so I do need to wear them out sometimes when I know I will be gone for more than 4 hours. On top of general maintenance for the animals, high quality food and bone/joint supplements are provided as well as healthy treats. We try to only bathe when needed but that's usually once a month. Both of my dogs are linked with a vet as well in case of emergency and they are up to date on all their shots and medications to keep them healthy and disease free.
“Anna was so good with my puppy! She was patient (he’s a baby land shark!) and attentive and took great care of him while I was gone. I will absolutely rebook with her! :)”

“Phelan was great and our pups were very happy when we returned! She kept us updated and sent lots of pictures and video. She took great time and care and we will be booking her again! Thank you for taking care of our babies!”

“Patricia was responsive in a timely manner and provided us with lots of pictures and updates of our fur babies and we appreciated all the care she provided. Will be using her services again!”

About: I have extensive professional and personal experience caring for dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I am comfortable administering oral medications, as well as injections like insulin, and following special care instruction. I currently have a lot of availability so I have a bunch of time to get to know your pets! Please message me regarding house sitting availability. I focus on maintaining their normal routine to minimize stress when caring for pets in a client’s home. I provide updates, photos, and notes after each visit so owners can feel confident their pet is happy and well cared for.

“Samantha was absolutely amazing and made me feel so comfortable leaving my pets with someone for the first time. She gave me daily updates, cleaned up my dog, and even took care of my cat’s litter. She sent pictures of my babies every day, which made me so happy and gave me so much peace of mind. Not to mention, my house was well taken care of when I returned. She is absolutely wonderful, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur babies!”

“Stephanie was great very attentive and caring. Handling my old dogs low vision well and I was sent updates and pictures of my boys daily. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!”

“We just adopted a rescue and were nervous about leaving him for the first time. Madalyn put our mind at ease. Madalyn followed all our instructions, walked him at the local park, and sent us pictures and updates daily. We came home to a very happy pup!”
“Shantalee was great! We reached out at the last minute and she was very understanding. She took great care of our 3 dogs and was very communicative. She kept them happy and comfortable. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“WOW! Angela was the perfect petsitter for our little babies! She was so sweet, professional, and communicative and it made us feel so comfortable leaving them for two weeks as well as having her stay at our house! Our house was clean when we returned like she wasn’t even there! Both our pups were so happy not just to see us but overall happy and weren’t upset we were gone which shows us how great Angela was with them! Thank you Angela and we WILL book again!”

“David was very punctual, made sure to check in on every walk and sent 4-5 photos every time. My dog felt very comfortable around him and seemed very content. Will definitely book with him again.”

About: I have 2 dogs at home back in Austin, one since late 2012, the other since early 2016. I've always gotten along well with dogs. I've found that most of them are very perceptive to who dog people are and they basically always recognize that in me. My dogs back in Austin helped me get through the day. Other than going to school at Hudson Valley Community College, there hopefully shouldn't be any scheduling conflicts. I try to make sure my dogs get enough attention, and usually we can count on each other for emotional support when they wouldn't prefer to spend time with the other members of my family.
“Jess is awesome! She dog sat for us at our home for 5 days. She was very great about providing updates and pictures of the dogs while we were away. You can tell she truly cares about the fur babies and goes above and beyond to love on them and stick to their normal routine. It was so nice to know our dogs were in good hands while we were gone and she left the house so clean for us to come back to as well!”

“Jenna & Aidan must have done an excellent job taking care of my cat as she didn't yell at me for hours upon my return home!! She was as happy as could be. J&A were very responsive, and timely. I appreciated their willingness to meet up a head of time to see the lay of the land. I would use them again in a heart beat.”

“Having Linda stay at my home to take care of my dog Moose was a great experience! She sent frequent updates including pictures to let me know how he was doing and seems to have developed a great relationship with him! I'm going to hire her to walk him as well on a regular basis :-)”

“Lauren was absolutely great with our two young labs. She provided great communication, lots of photos, and followed instructions to a T. They can be a bit hesitant with new people, especially at home, but Lauren really made them feel comfortable. Thank you!”

Myia is a terrific petsitter! From our initial contact, she was consistently responsive and professional. She cared for our 50lb dog for a full week and our pup was well cared for and in good hands. My family would utilize her services in the future and we would highly recommend Myia to others in need of pet sitting services.

Christina always takes good care of our lab - we’ve used her several times and she’s reliable, gives us updates and photos and allows us to enjoy our vacation knowing she’s there for our dog. She cares and went over and above this time during a bad thunderstorm she comforted our dog who was nervous with the loud storm. When you’re not home for them it’s nice to know someone who cares is there! Definitely recommend Christina for pet sitting.

We felt so comfortable leaving our pup in Cheyenne’s care! Cheyenne went out of her way to make sure our girl was not only safe and cared for, but also had so much fun playing while we were away. We received such great photos and updates while we were gone, and knew our girl was in the best hands. We had so much confidence knowing Cheyenne’s extensive history and experience with animals, which was even more reassuring (our pup has seizures from time to time and takes a daily medication). Cheyenne was also so respectful of our home, and always communicated promptly and professionally. Thank you again, Cheyenne!!

Nicole took such good care of our golden retriever Tanner and tuxedo cat Milo for a week while we were away. She gave them both a lot of attention, took Tanner out on walks and made sure they both received a lot of love and treats. I enjoyed the pictures of both of them each day and I could see they were both happy and enjoying her care. She made sure the house was tidy and picked up after our week away which I greatly appreciated. She is an excellent pet sitter.

Nina was wonderful with our shy boy. She is calm but confident which was perfect for our dog who is not so sure of new people. She communicated often and sent pictures so we could see for ourselves how well he was doing. She left the house clean and even watered my wilting plants. I would have her watch Boomer again anytime.

Laina was so wonderful with my boys! I was so busy while away with training, but she was sure to send me daily updates with photographs. My boys warmed up to her so quick (which is usual for one of them). The house was just as I left it. Laina walking the boys in the yard to make sure they got all their energy out and gave them as much cuddling as they requested. I already have her booked do another stay! She will absolutely be my GO TO for any future trips.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Watervliet walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Watervliet maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Watervliet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
