“Ashley was great with our 1 year old GSD puppy! She stayed overnight at our house with our puppy and two cats. She sent pictures of her overnight stay for our peace of mind as well. She was very responsible and professional. My husband and I will 100% request her services in the future!”

“Anna was an excellent house sitter to our nervous greyhound and cat. She sent daily updates at least and took booker for the walks he needed. She went above and beyond keeping our house in order. We spent the vacation knowing our pets were cared for and came back to clean house. Highly recommend (unless we need her ;-) )”

“This was our first time having a sitter watch our pets in our home, Natasha was so great and made us comfortable during our entire time away knowing our pets were getting the care they needed. Thank you again so much!”

“Madelyn is the absolutely best — she was super communicative, sent great updates, and we felt so at ease having her stay in our home with our lil pup. 100% would book with her again!”

“Patricia was responsive in a timely manner and provided us with lots of pictures and updates of our fur babies and we appreciated all the care she provided. Will be using her services again!”

About: I’ve had jobs caring for senior dogs, puppies, and/or super anxious and reactive dogs. I’m very patient, diligent, and will love your babies like my own :) I also have experience dog sitting for the president of my college! I have recently graduated from college and am living in the Albany area for the time being. My schedule is very flexible. I am not able to board dogs at my home at this time, as I do not live alone. I live in a tidy, quiet home with an unfenced yard, though I am not able to board dogs in my home at this time :(
“Kevin did a fantastic job house sitting with Igloo for the day! He even went out of his way to come meet Igloo a couple days before so that she would be comfortable staying with a new person in the house. He kept us updated with photos during the day. It was great being able to have the day to ourselves and not worry - we would definitely have him back again!”

“Nina was wonderful with our shy boy. She is calm but confident which was perfect for our dog who is not so sure of new people. She communicated often and sent pictures so we could see for ourselves how well he was doing. She left the house clean and even watered my wilting plants. I would have her watch Boomer again anytime.”

“Juliana did such a great job taking care of our dog for the weekend. She was super communicative & made sure our dog got tons of love while we were away. Looking forward to using her in the future!!”

“Larissa went above and beyond our expectations. She was extremely professional, responsible and mostly provided quality, compassionate care to our baby Colden. Weimaraners can be a challenging breed but Larissa was up for the task. We had no worries while we were away as she kept us up to date on their activities. Highly recommend!”

“Amanda is the best dog sitter I have ever had! She was so attentive to all of my dog's needs and respectful of his quirks and daily schedule. She kept me fully updated every day I was gone and sent lots of cute pictures and videos - I felt like I didn't have to worry about a thing because I knew my fur baby was in loving and capable hands. I recommend Amanda 100%!!!”

“Rachel was AMAZING with Gemma. It was my first time with a dog sitter overnight and I couldn’t be happier. Sent lots of pictures and videos, and was very hands on with my pup and had great communication. My house was spotless and just how I left it. Will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you Rachel!!”

“Anna G. was attentive and amazing! She was on-time, communicative and sent some photos throughout her stay. I've already booked her for a future trip and am so glad I've found her!”

“Rachel did a great job watching our dog overnight. He can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, but she walked him, played with him, and gave him lots of attention. He seemed very happy once we returned home. I trust her and will definitely be booking with her again.”

“I couldn’t recommend Net (Stephanie B) anymore! We went away for a few days for thanksgiving and left her with our 2 dogs, 3 cats, lizard, and chickens and she was absolutely fantastic. She followed our feeding walking directions perfectly and had excellent communication. Our house was left nicer than we left it and our pups were clearly happy and well taken care of. She even made sure to give them a walk before we got home so we could unpack and relax. Don’t hesitate, book Net!”

About: I had over ten dogs growing up, both large and small, and have had three cats. All have lived to an old age and had a wonderful quality of life! I work from 7am-3pm Monday-Friday with occasional work from homes, so I can provide pet care in the early morning and/or afternoon/evening! On weekends, I am flexible! I focus on building trust and affection with pets, ensuring play time and pets are on their terms, giving space as needed! I am big on safety and keeping a watchful eye on them.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Loudonville
Jessica was wonderful. Our first day out one of our dogs got sick. Jessica took excellent care of him. Told us what was happening and kept us informed throughout the day on his progress. He couldn't have asked for better care. Our other dog, feeling left out really took advantage of the older dog not feeling well and stole all of Jessica's available time. Jessica was awesome with both of them and our adapting instructions. We would not hesitate to ask Jessica back to watch our dogs.

Samantha stayed with our 3 dogs while we went out of town and did an excellent job! She is quick to respond, arrives on time, and does what she says she will do. She even sends awesome pictures back of our dogs showing she truly cares for their well-being. We highly recommend Samantha!

Eydid did an amazing job house sitting and pet setting my elderly cat Simone for nearly 3 weeks, while I was on honeymoon. He routinely sent pictures and videos and even spent the night a few times to give Simone night time cuddles, which she loves so much. She was in the best spirits I’ve seen my cat after being gone for so long I am recommending him (and Valeria) to all of my friends

Madalyn was absolutely phenomenal when it came to watching our two dogs and cat. She routinely sent updates about how the boys were doing. From the pictures alone you could tell how comfortable they were with her. She also verified times to ensure they received timely care until we returned home. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and would love to rebook her when we travel again.
I booked for a last-minute weekend house-sitting stay. Delilah was super communicative throughout the stay and always sent updates and pictures of Enchi! I will definitely rebook with Delilah in the future for house-sitting- she is really accommodating toward Enchi's preferences and mine and the whole stay went smoothly.

Kenda helped us out with a last minute sitting. We came home to a happy pup which is the most important thing. She was communicative and sent picture updates which I greatly appreciate. I would definitely feel comfortable recommending her and using her services again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Loudonville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Loudonville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Loudonville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
