Ashley was great with our 1 year old GSD puppy! She stayed overnight at our house with our puppy and two cats. She sent pictures of her overnight stay for our peace of mind as well. She was very responsible and professional. My husband and I will 100% request her services in the future!

Kevin did a fantastic job house sitting with Igloo for the day! He even went out of his way to come meet Igloo a couple days before so that she would be comfortable staying with a new person in the house. He kept us updated with photos during the day. It was great being able to have the day to ourselves and not worry - we would definitely have him back again!

Merissa is a wonderful sitter and we are extremely happy with the care she provides! We have a few senior animals with special food and medical needs, and she made sure to follow all our instructions and kept us updated throughout her stay. She makes sure all of the animals are well-exercised and stimulated. We already have our next sit booked with her and highly recommend her as a responsible and thoughtful sitter.

Heather was wonderful to have stay with our girls while we were out of the country. One needs a bit more care now and we worried about leaving her. However, Heather had no problem providing them with everything they needed while we were away. She was great with communication and our house was just as we left it.

This was Nina’s first time watching my dog Orla. She arrived right on time and immediately offered to help me with her since I was getting ready to go to a doctor’s appointment and running a little late.. She took Orla for a nice walk and sent me several pictures during her stay. Orla was very comfortable with Nina. I will definitely ask her to come back again.

About: Working with animals is both my night and day job! What sets me apart is my calm, attentive approach and genuine love for animals. I’m experienced with both high-energy animal's and seniors needing gentle, consistent care. I adapt easily to each animals routine and personality, making them feel safe and loved. I like to provide updates, so you never have to worry while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with my own two dogs. I plan to provide what I do to your companions. This includes walks, playtime, feeding, grooming, and attention, making every pet feel prioritized. I work part time so I make sure to stay organized and flexible so I can provide reliable, consistent care. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow any rules or routines if asked to ensure pets feel comfortable and safe. I double check doors, monitor behavior, and keep a clean, safe environment. I will never leave pets unsupervised in unsafe conditions and will communicate clearly with owners, so they know their pet is cared for like my own.

About: I grew up around dogs, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I’ve helped take care of my friends’ dogs, including Pip, whom I’ve watched since he was a puppy, and Martha, a more senior dog. I’ve handled walking, feeding, playtime, and just generally making sure they’re comfortable and well cared for. I’m very responsible and understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I take that responsibility seriously and treat every dog as if they were my own. It means a lot to me to be given the opportunity to care for your furry friend. : ) I can be flexible with my schedule depending on what you and your doggie needs. If there’s a particular time that you’re looking for, feel free to let me know and we can work something out! I live in a single apartment, with a lots of room for any small or medium sized doggies. I also love runs and long walks if they’re more in the mood to be more playful

A big plus is Haylea works from home 4 of 5 days a week and was able to be with our dog a lot. Haylea texted photos and kept us up to date on how our fur baby was doing. Highly recommend her!

I am a nervous pup mom and I want Coco Moose in his home. I tried traditional boarding and was mortified. I am so glad I found/connected with Emer. She is so helpful and understanding of my pup mom feelings. Her communication while I was away, was next level! Text with updates and she sent 1 of the cutest pictures ever along with many others. She spoiled him with extra walks too. When I returned home, Coco was happy, content and obviously very well taken care of. My home looked exactly as I left it. I can't wait until my next trip to have Emer back. It's 1 less thing I need to worry about when I need to leave. THANK YOU!

Jessica was wonderful. Our first day out one of our dogs got sick. Jessica took excellent care of him. Told us what was happening and kept us informed throughout the day on his progress. He couldn't have asked for better care. Our other dog, feeling left out really took advantage of the older dog not feeling well and stole all of Jessica's available time. Jessica was awesome with both of them and our adapting instructions. We would not hesitate to ask Jessica back to watch our dogs.

Patrick was great house sitting with our big, needy, oaf of a dog. Our pup can be reactive with other dogs while walking, Patrick ha no trouble with him and was also good with giving him meds. He is courteous, timely and trustworthy. Our dog was comfortable right off the bat with him and was super chill when we got home. We'll continue to call on Patrick for sitting in the future & highly recommend him to others for sitting or walks.

We had Bradley housesit for us and our dog and cat were so well taken care of. Both Tove and Buddy were completely content when we got home as if we never even left. Tove was given plenty of attention and walks. Bradley is able to handle Tove who has leash reactivity and can be a handful. Buddy also was at ease and seemed loved the extra attention. Overall a really wonderful experience and we hope to have Bradley sit for us again.

Eydid did an amazing job house sitting and pet setting my elderly cat Simone for nearly 3 weeks, while I was on honeymoon. He routinely sent pictures and videos and even spent the night a few times to give Simone night time cuddles, which she loves so much. FAQs for House Sitting - Roessleville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Roessleville on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 602 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Roessleville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Roessleville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Roessleville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Roessleville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roessleville. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
