I'd love to know any details about what makes your dog more comfortable. What is their usual schedule? Are you strict with it or flexible? What's fun for them? How much exercise do they need? What unique activities might they miss while you're gone? Do they have any fears? Any quirks to be aware of? Things they communicate to you uniquely? With information and instructions I can work with dogs with mild behavioral issues (such as dog reactives, guarding), but prefer to work with those without aggression.
A typical day
I think of my care as a staycation for your dog. I can walk wherever you'd like me to take your pooch. What keeps them entertained and reduces stress while you're gone? We can stick around their familiar neighborhood, or go on an adventure to a different park for some new sniffs. Fetch, tug, or any particular game the dog prefers, it's all on the menu! Our pups shouldn't miss out on fun their favorite activities because their owners are away. Cuddles are complimentary.

As a loving dog owner myself, I sympathize with the need for customized care while you're away. I am here to help keep your pet’s usual routine, exercise and enrichment activities while you're away. As a responsible professional, I take my commitments seriously. This includes following your directions and caring for your pet the way you prefer. I am a stickler for details and safety. Personally, it’s difficult for me to trust people with my own dog, so I know how important it is to follow an owner’s directions and make sure your pet has the environment and enrichment that they need. Caring for dogs has been a lifelong hobby for me. I grew up with dogs as pets and have watched my friends’ and family’s pets throughout my life. I truly enjoy my time with dogs, which I think helps them be at ease while you’re away. There are very few other things I'd rather do than take a dog for a walk! Pooches keep us humble and remind us to live in the moment. My full-time job is in secondary research, and my favorite "off hours" topic is dogs. Learning about their behavior, needs and evolution is endlessly fascinating to me. While I'm a relative layman (much respect to trainers & vets!), I'm well versed in canine safety and understanding their behaviors and context. I was motivated to work through Rover because my own dog doesn't do well with boarding, and we have found our amazing sitters here (my dog is home with his Dad while I’m sitting for you). So, when I saw the need in our community for more pet care options that take on only one pet (or family) at a time, I realized it would be a natural and rewarding use of my time.

Best dog sitter around.
Madalyn was absolutely phenomenal when it came to watching our two dogs and cat. She routinely sent updates about how the boys were doing. From the pictures alone you could tell how comfortable they were with her. She also verified times to ensure they received timely care until we returned home. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and would love to rebook her when we travel again.
Madalyn house sat and watched out 2 fur babies this past week. As usual she did a phenomenal job and the girls love her. They can’t wait to see her again in 4 weeks for an extended time frame. Best dog sitter we have had yet by far.
Of course Madalyn did a wonderful job again taking care of our fur babies for the week! She kept us updated with text messages and photos every day. I can’t say enough about her. We already have her booked for two more vacations next year and will probably be adding a third and fourth. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.
