“We were so grateful to have found Anna for this stay!! She was very helpful and stayed in touch with updates and photos. We were extra worried about leaving Lexi for this trip, as it was our first time away after our other dog passed. Anna was so understanding and took great care of our baby (and house!) while we were gone!! Thank you so much Anna!!!”

“Larissa is very attentive to my dog needs and my cats. She went above and beyond what I expected. I came home to my house picked up and floors swept. I will definitely us her in the future.”

“Repeat customer, Stephanie (Net) is the best and goes above and beyond. We have a bunch of pets including a senior dog and a high energy middle age pup (cats, a lizard, oh my!) and she’s great with everyone. Highly recommend!”

“Ashley was great with our 1 year old GSD puppy! She stayed overnight at our house with our puppy and two cats. She sent pictures of her overnight stay for our peace of mind as well. She was very responsible and professional. My husband and I will 100% request her services in the future!”

“Gracelyn did a great job caring for our pups! We discovered the day we left that Mari had diarrhea – – probably from eating something in our yard – – but Gracelyn took all that in stride and fixed rice and chicken for her until it cleared up. Zinc, our 15 1/2 year-old dog, ran out of medicine halfway through our time away, and Gracelyn took care of contacting the vet and getting the refill he needed. The house was well maintained and the pups were happy. We plan to engage Gracelyn in the future and we highly recommend her to care for your pups as well.”

“Patricia was great to work with, she always sent multiple pictures and updates with each visit while she house sat our two goofy senior dogs. Thanks for taking great care of them!”

“Of course Madalyn did a wonderful job again taking care of our fur babies for the week! She kept us updated with text messages and photos every day. I can’t say enough about her. We already have her booked for two more vacations next year and will probably be adding a third and fourth. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Samantha is awesome. She stayed with my cat Azi for a whole week, and sent very regular updates and photos. She communicated quickly when needed - I could trust that I could reach her if I needed to, and that she would reach out to me if anything came up. Most importantly, I could tell that Azi was calm and happy with her, which gave me so much peace of mind! He was chill (not too desperate for affection) when I got home, and the house was clean and tidy. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Merissa. She set up a meet and greet prior to accepting our request, which we very much appreciated. She was punctual and enthusiastic about staying with our dog. Merissa kept us updated and send many pics, we felt very comfortable and confident with her taking care of Dane and he was so excitedto have her here With him. Because of our experience, we have already booked her again and will continue to in the future!”

About: I treat all animals as if they are my own ( even the wild ones :') ). I provide my own pets with consistent, routine driven training that keeps them stimulated while also building the bond between us. Whether a cat, dog, or other furry friends, you can count on me to show them the love and care that they deserve. I love taking my dogs for a walk or just sitting and talking with them. Routine training and walking has helped me be successful when I have owned/trained my dogs. Calm, consistent leadership is so important in the dynamic of my animals and I. Both of my dogs are crate trained, walked twice daily to keep their minds stimulated, and PLAYTIME! Lots of playtime throughout the day. I cannot be with my dogs all day so I do need to wear them out sometimes when I know I will be gone for more than 4 hours. On top of general maintenance for the animals, high quality food and bone/joint supplements are provided as well as healthy treats. We try to only bathe when needed but that's usually once a month. Both of my dogs are linked with a vet as well in case of emergency and they are up to date on all their shots and medications to keep them healthy and disease free.
About: I have 2 dogs at home back in Austin, one since late 2012, the other since early 2016. I've always gotten along well with dogs. I've found that most of them are very perceptive to who dog people are and they basically always recognize that in me. My dogs back in Austin helped me get through the day. Other than going to school at Hudson Valley Community College, there hopefully shouldn't be any scheduling conflicts. I try to make sure my dogs get enough attention, and usually we can count on each other for emotional support when they wouldn't prefer to spend time with the other members of my family.
“Ayva took wonderful care of our dog, Bondi, for four days while staying at our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, Ayva was responsible, kind, and genuinely caring toward Bondi. It was clear that she loves animals and treats them with patience and affection. Bondi was happy, well-exercised, and calm when we returned, which says everything about the quality of care he received. Ayva followed all our instructions carefully, kept the home neat and tidy, and regularly updated us, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We felt completely comfortable leaving both our home and our beloved dog in Ayva’s care. She is trustworthy, reliable, and thoughtful, exactly the kind of person you hope to find when you need someone to look after your pet. We would highly recommend Ayva to anyone looking for a dependable and caring pet-sitter and would happily ask her to help again in the future. 🐶💛”

“Phelan was great! Stayed in contact throughout our time away with pics annd videos, and made sure everyone was well cared for and loved! 13/10 Would definitely recommend for all of your pet care needs. Thank you so much Phelan!”

“Hannah is an excellent sitter. She did a great job sitting at our home with our two Frenchies! Her communication was outstanding. She is motivated and willing to learn. Although she may not have as much experience as other sitters do not hesitate to give her a chance! You will not regret it. Thanks Hannah! We will see you soon!”

“Jessica was a wonderful dog/house sitter for my 3 yr old Boxer Lucy. She truly allowed me to relax and not worry while I was on a long trip away from Lucy. She also took great care of my house, including watering my plants along with other tasks that were a great help while I was away. Thank you for your great care!”

This is the second time we had had Nina stay with our babies for the week and she has done an excellent job and always leaves the house in tiptop shape before she leaves. I would definitely recommend Nina to take care of your pet for she loves them to death and does everything she can to make them feel comfortable while their family is away.

This was the first time Larissa stayed with our dog. He took to her the minute she walked through the door. He could tell she loves dogs. Larissa kept us informed of how things were going and sent several pictures. She brought some treats for him. She is very pleasant, polite, knowledgeable and friendly. We were very pleased with her and highly recommend her.

Jenna and Aidan were wonderful to my 2 beagles. They sent pictures and let me know how the dogs were doing. One of my dogs had anxiety the first night, but with love and affection he calmed right down with Jenna and Aidan. Thank you for giving the dogs so much attention!

We were delighted with Kaya’s care for our pups! They got lots of exercise and were happy when we returned home – – always a good sign. Additionally, the house was neat and that’s a bonus too. We plan to engage Kaya in the future andI highly recommend her to take care of your pups! 🐶❤️

Laina was so wonderful with my boys! I was so busy while away with training, but she was sure to send me daily updates with photographs. My boys warmed up to her so quick (which is usual for one of them). The house was just as I left it. Laina walking the boys in the yard to make sure they got all their energy out and gave them as much cuddling as they requested. I already have her booked do another stay! She will absolutely be my GO TO for any future trips.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wynantskill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wynantskill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wynantskill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
