About: I have 2 dogs at home back in Austin, one since late 2012, the other since early 2016. I've always gotten along well with dogs. I've found that most of them are very perceptive to who dog people are and they basically always recognize that in me. My dogs back in Austin helped me get through the day. Other than going to school at Hudson Valley Community College, there hopefully shouldn't be any scheduling conflicts. I try to make sure my dogs get enough attention, and usually we can count on each other for emotional support when they wouldn't prefer to spend time with the other members of my family.
About: Hi! My name is Katie, and I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. Growing up on a duck farm, I developed a deep love for animals and an innate understanding of their needs. I currently have 2 pets in my home that I share with my boyfriend; a cat I adopted 6 years ago, and a 3 year old dog who I’ve raised since he was 10 weeks old. We’re both experienced with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. We have a large group of friends with a collective total of 7 dogs. We frequently watch our friends dogs, whether it be for a weekend away, or extended multi-week trips. Our dog, Keene, is extremely social and has an excellent understanding of boundaries when it comes to both cats and dogs. My boyfriend, Sushil, and I both currently work full time, Monday to Friday. My schedule can be flexible if your pet needs more frequent care, but we prefer pets who can withstand 8 hours alone during the work week. During the evening and weekends, you can find us at home enjoying our beautiful fenced-in back yard, or out in nature on a trail, in the mountains, or on a lake. We have a fenced in backyard and gates available if dogs need to be separated. Additionally, our dog is extremely social and is great with doggy-social cues. Your dog will always be supervised when with other dogs. We prefer dogs that are crate trained and can be crated when we’re at work to keep both your pet and our pets safe!
