About: I've had the gift of house/pet sitting for 15 years, and it is without a doubt the most rewarding job I've ever experienced! Personally, I've had dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, horses, and hermit crabs as pets, besides the odd rescued baby bird, bunny, or mouse. On top of cats, dogs, and fish, I've had the opportunity to care for alpacas, an African grey parrot, and saltwater fish/reefs, while pet sitting. Every animal I encounter has its own identity and temperament, which is always fun and interesting to observe and base my care on. I feel like such a winner when I get a standoffish animal to trust me! Throughout my life I've had an array of animals to bond with, though for a long period recently we had just one cat. Mournfully, a few years ago, my dad and I had to part with our beloved Stevie. She was our close companion for over 15 years, and I still miss her immensely. Her quirks and routines still cross my mind, which brings all the things that made her unique and lovable up into my heart. Pet sitting warms my heart, and definitely fills the need that I still have for animal companionship (but without the heartbreak). Pet sitting is a way for me to have the joy of loving and caring for a pet in an empathetic way: in their own home, on their own schedule, stepping into their owner's (figurative) shoes for a bit, to make *everyone* more comfortable. Time and again, it's proven to be the best way I've found to give personalized care to precious pets, and allow owners to truly enjoy their time away. My part-time library job offers me a lot of flexibility, leaving me the opportunity to do more of what I love. Traveling, exploring new areas, experiencing new food, going to music events, working out/walking, spiritual activities, and creative endeavors have a place in my life because of this balance. Of course that also includes one of the most rewarding ways to punctuate my life: house and pet sitting! I base my care around the individual needs of the pet and owner! Pets LOVE their routines, so I typically live in harmony with their modus operandi, on balance with my part-time engagements.
“Jami was a happy accident! I texted her in error and she responded so sweetly that when I looked at her profile I felt like it was meant to be. Our initial texts were easy as was setting up a meet and greet. She was as charming in person and really has an affinity with animals as my dog and cat warmed up to her immediately. Jami did a great job and really made our pets feel like a family member was with them. She texted us daily photos and she alway responded to any comment I would make. When we got home we were so pleased to have happy animals great us and the house looked barely lived in. We highly recommend Jami and hope she is free when we next travel!”

“Shaundra did a fantastic job with our 2 dogs! She was communicative and made us and our pups feel comfortable. She also took great care of our home, it looked even better than we left it when we got home!”

About: *I am insured!* I have been actively caring for animals since 2020 and have found such great fulfillment through it. Your furry friend's needs come first and I always make sure everyone feels secure and happy in every visit. I am able to do overnights any day of the week. My schedule is always flexible and I will always find a way to make sure your needs are being met! For drop in visits and walks, I have more flexibility on weekends. On Mondays-Fridays, I am able to do visits after 4:30pm. With any new animal, I start off slow and let them have the opportunity to sniff or be near me without feeling pressured. I analyze the animal's behavior and pick up any cues on how they're feeling before proceeding. Building trust is very important to me and I like to build connections with the animals!

“Kaylee was wonderful with our dog. Our dog loves everyone that comes over, but she especially loved Kaylee and was so attentive to her. I fully trust Kaylee and recommend her for anyone in the future.”

“Alison was great with my two cats, one of which required medication 2-3 times a day. I was super nervous to leave my kitty in the care of someone else, but after meeting Alison I felt reassured that he would be cared for in my absence. She dealt with all my fur parent anxiety, was great with communication, took care of my kitties, and bonded with them. I would choose her again to take care of my fur babies.”

“Our dogs (and us!) liked Alex immediately. She was competent, kind, and trustworthy, the perfect person to stay with our 2 older dogs while we were out of town for a long weekend. She texted us regular updates and handled our one dog very well who has separation anxiety. We will definitely have her back! Thanks Alex!”
“I was so happy when I got home from a long day away and found that my babies were so lovingly cared for by Laurie and Reese. Think Teddy found a great playmate with Reese, that when Laurie and Reese left he started barking at the door. My dog never barks, so I think a hi-five and honors go to this happy pair. Thanks again so much.👍”
