“Wow! We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters. John and Julie went above and beyond to watch our little Boston Terrier - Harley. They provided daily pictures, videos, and communicated daily with us about how Harley was doing. Their actions provided peace of mind and made leaving our fur baby much easier. We will definitely use them again and again for any future dog-sitting needs.”

“Amazing Bertha and her family! They treated our baby as their own and received many pictures and videos during his stay. My baby was so happy there playing with Chess and had a great time. We were so comfortable and enjoyed our trip thinking that my baby was also in a vacation with a wonderful family. They followed all his special needs about his food, greeted him with a smile and provided utmost care. Chess is a very cute, friendly and a handsome boy along with kids in the family. We are so happy that we finally found a family more than anyone can wish for. As long as Bertha can offer the care, we will not look for another. Thank you so much for being there for us!!! Will see you soon.”

“Marie and family took care of our sweet elderly dog as if she were a member of their family. Our dog came home with the calmest energy, and obviously felt comfortable and well-cared for while we were away. Marie is an angel and we are grateful for her caring, compassionate, and empathetic heart. It’s apparent our dog misses her already!”

“Our Cami looked like she had a great time with Brian, Jennifer and family! They sent photos and videos with updates. We would highly recommend and will leave Cami with them again in the future!”

“Jennifer really take very good care of our dog with a lot of patience and love. Walk the dog and take her to dog park. I can see my dog felt sad when she had to come home.?”

“This was our first time to take Susie to Britney. Susie was treated like a queen!!! Britney sent me pictures of Susie which looked like Susie was having a great time and got some lap time too. I would highly recommend Britney.”

“Sarah was amazing with Seda! Our dog has epilepsy and needed 4 daily pills and Sarah made sure she took em all. She constantly updated us to let us know how much she was eating, if she was comfortable, if she was going potty, etc. and she also sent us videos of Seda playing and having fun with her dogs! She was constantly in communication whenever we texted her and was super friendly when we went to drop her off/pick her up. Would definitely leave Seda there again!”

“Katie is the absolute best person to watch our dog! We have boarded with her multiple times. She is extremely loving, attentive and caring. We get daily videos and pictures of her taking our pup on fun walks. It feels like our dog is also at a luxurious vacation and we are not worried about her at all. Thank you for being the best at what you do Katie.”

“We just used Linda for a second time this summer, and she was as wonderful as ever!! When we dropped our dogs off to her, they were so excited. That says it all! She sent us pictures every day and it was clear our doodles were loving life!!”

“Vanessa is always so good to my puppies. They come home happy and healthy. I can tell she loves animals by how happy and well behaved her puppy, Dolce is. She is the only one I will leave my little friends with.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Chandra taking care of our Razor! From the moment we met her, we knew he was in loving and capable hands. She treated Razor like family, giving him so much love, attention, and care throughout his stay. Razor had an amazing time and was so happy and comfortable with her. The regular updates gave us complete peace of mind while we were away, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about his happiness and well-being. We honestly feel like Razor has found his second home! ❤️ We will definitely be reaching out to Chandra for all our future trips, and we would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and exceptional to look after their dog. Thank you so much, Chandra, for taking such wonderful care of our boy, Razor! You’ve definitely gained a lifelong client and a very happy dog!”

“Jamie and her family are so amazing and took great care of my Bassett Hound. They sent me photos and videos and gave regular updates on how he was doing. My dog came back calm and totally exhaused from all the playtime and attention he got. He was very happy and so was I. Even though I was out of the country I felt totally comfortable and happy with the care my dog was receiving. I will use Jamie again for sure.”

“Andrea was really quick with communication and was really accommodating for drop off and pick up. She sent photos regularly which was really nice and Luna seemed to have a great time. She loves to run and their large backyard gave her ample room to run around and wear herself out. We will definitely be rebooking the next time we go out of town!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Van Alstyne
Vanessa and Enzo were SO good with my nervous girl, Luna. They took plenty of time to explain their process and how they make sure the environment is safe and relaxed for any of the dogs in their home. Their dog, Dolce is also a sweetheart who was eager to make a new friend, while also being very patient and understanding towards my hesitant dog. I booked daycare with them this time to get Luna accustomed to the new environment before an upcoming trip - and I’m looking forward to using their services again soon for the full boarding experience.

Derek and Christina were awesome. They were very accommodating even with last second request.v they were very responsive to communications and had a great rate for boarding services. They were also proactive in providing pictures and stays throughout the stay. Overall we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend. They made it cheap and easy. Looking forward to use for future boarding needs.

Christian has been an excellent pet caretaker. I left my red heeler with him for a week and I see it in my dog’s face. He was happy to be there and the treatment as to my dog and me is second to none. Will trust him again with all three of my pets that I have I do recommend his services. Excellent person.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
