“Jade is the best! We have a very high-maintenance Belgian Malinois who is not a fan of strangers, so finding the right person was incredibly important to us. Jade went completely above and beyond by doing multiple meetings to make sure he felt safe and comfortable with her. Her patience, calm demeanor, and gentle approach made all the difference. She truly took the time to understand his personality and earned his trust at his pace — something that does not come easily with him. We feel so lucky to have found her and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone. Thank you for going the extra mile in every possible way!”

About: I have always had a love for animals. I have had dogs always growing up and have taken care of lots of different animals. I have a 3 old aussie who has lots of energy and loves to play! I currently work part time serving in a restaurant, so my schedule is pretty flexible and willing to be moved around for pet care needs! I live right by a very nice trail that allows dogs to be off leash. I have a 3 old aussie at home who loves to play and for long walks and hikes.
“Jack has been so wonderful and accommodating to our busy holiday schedule these past few weeks. Showing up on time, taking our boy on amazing hikes and showing him lots of love and care. Couldn’t have done it without him! Highly recommend!”

“Grace was very accommodating and communication was easy! Daisy seemed very happy with the walk. I appreciated that Grace was available to come a second time, when I realized we wouldn't be back until late. I would definitely use Grace again!”

“We traveled 2,000 miles to Vail for our son's wedding and met Nikohl who did a wonderful job looking after Steve for us, walking him, feeding him and being his companion. Highly recommended!!!”

About: I have been house sitting on and off for many years and love to be around animals. My neighbors and family friends have tasked me with taking care of their houses, animals, plants, many other things! I’m currently working full time in Vail, so I will be able to care for your pet anytime outside of these hours. My work hours are typically 8am-5pm Monday-Friday! When I am taking care of any animal I will treat them just like family! Lots of walks and attention! I can give your dogs lots of exercise!
About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience caring for animals combined with hands-on volunteer work in animal welfare. I've had dogs and cats for as long as I can remember and have cared for pets through every stage of life, including senior animals. As a volunteer with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, I worked directly with shelter cats by cleaning kennels, providing food and fresh water, and monitoring their living spaces while being mindful not to cause unnecessary stress. This experience taught me how to respect each animal's comfort level, recognize different personalities, and provide calm, attentive care. I also volunteered with Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, where I helped socialize animals and connect potential adopters with dogs that matched their lifestyle. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, independent, or needs extra patience, I will provide reliable, compassionate care and follow their routine closely so they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. Pet care has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. This summer, I am completing an internship with varying hours throughout the week, but I am fully available on Mondays and Tuesdays, which are my weekends. On most other days, I am available before work and in the evenings for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. Having cared for dogs and cats my entire life, I understand the importance of maintaining a pet's routine and helping them feel comfortable when their owner is away. Whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, drop-in visits, or overnight care, I'm happy to adapt to your pet's individual needs. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care so your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special care instructions before providing care. Whether I'm visiting your home, taking your dog for a walk, or staying overnight, I'll ensure your pet receives attentive, reliable care. Through my volunteer experience caring for shelter cats, I've learned the importance of being patient, observant, and respectful of each animal's comfort level. I'll follow your instructions closely, provide regular updates and photos, and treat both your pet and your home with the same respect and care that I would my own.

“You we awesome! You got Kya out and she has NEVER done that with a stranger before! We will for sure be using Alex in the future and I would highly recommend him to all my fur baby humans out there!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for most of my life. I enjoy sitting other people’s pets and playing with them. I have a heart for animals. I can’t wait to meet your pets! I am currently working part time. I still have plenty of time to love and play with your pets. We will have a blast and good quality time! I have a fenced in backyard that my two dogs and cat love to mess around in. I know what it takes to love and care for a pet. Your pet will be treated as my own!
“Melissa was fantastic! She was great with all the communication and how the dogs did during their walk including pictures. My two senior dogs are pretty needy, as one is not people friendly (rescue) and the other is not dog friendly. So they are quite the pair. Both dogs enjoyed their walk with Melissa and I will be booking her again. Highly recommend!”

“Do not look any further. Stop. Hire Karen, now. We were in the Vail area for a week over Thanksgiving and Karen watched our two labs for 5 days and we could not be any happier!!! She was amazing. Our dogs were taken on multiple walks, hikes, and outings per day. They went sledding and shared videos of our puppy pulling the sled. We got multiple pictures, texts, and videos during the day to keep us posted and they were always walking, playing, or snuggly WITH Karen on the couch and good Lord it was cute!! She is an all-star and you couldn't ask for a better fur baby sitter. My kids wanted to give her five bajillioon stars, but it wasn't an option. She's the best!”

About: I am self employed and work from home so have plenty of time to give attention to your pup. I have a 13 year old dog named Bruce. He enjoys slower walks and hikes but I’m happy to do longer walks or runs with your younger dog. Bruce gets along with all dogs and I would prefer yours does too! I have plenty of time throughout the day to walk, play, etc with your dog. Just let me know what their activity level is, off leash guidelines, and any other quirks. My yard is on the Gore creek, not fenced in. My dog and other visiting dogs always play down by the creek. If your dog is not good off leash or you don’t want them near the creek, I will keep them on leash at all times.
“Kalina was great with our dog Jasper! He’s an old souls and loves naps and long walks. She made sure he got a long walk around the park and was fed. Thank you and we look forward to working with you again!”
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and honestly can’t remember a time when there wasn’t a pup in the house. I grew up in a family that always had multiple dogs at once — labs, cocker spaniels, dachshunds, golden retrievers, goldendoodles — plus all the neighborhood dogs that seemed to end up at our place for playdates or pet sitting. Caring for different breeds and personalities has always just been part of my daily life, not something I had to learn later. Since moving out on my own, my roommates have almost always had dogs, and I naturally end up sharing responsibilities — walks, feeding, playtime, and making sure they feel loved and included. I’m a big “dog person” in every sense: I connect with dogs quickly, read their body language well, and make a real effort to help them feel safe, calm, and happy while their people are away. Whether your dog is high-energy and playful or more of a couch snuggler, I’ll treat them like my own and keep you updated so you can relax while you’re gone. I currently work fully remote and have about a 20 to 30 hour per week workload, which leaves me with plenty of extra time each and every day! I’m a very active person and tend to fill my downtime with walking hiking cross country skiing or downhill skiing whenever I can and my flexible schedule certainly helps that. I’ll be more than happy to do just about anything that you request to make your dog happy and comfortable. Let’s just talk about it first!

About: I had my whole life dogs and I had the last 15 years taking care about my own dogs. I love to walk them and since I have not anymore my own dogs I love to help other people out to taking care there dogs. Dogs makes me always happy and I’m always feeling so grateful when I know a dog doesn’t has to be alone at home and can meet some new friends I’m available during the week every time I’m just working part-time on weekends. So I’m flexible on weeks. And I missed the walks so much with my dogs and I would love to hang out again with some dogs and helping humans when they have short time for her dogs I like to play and walking with the dogs but also I like to cuddle the dogs if they like it or they are really needy. Feeding for sure and I can also give them bath if they need and if the customer wanted and helps them out

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
