In September 2020, I adopted a 2 month old Labrador/ Great Pyrenees / Shepard mix named Arlo from the Boulder humane society and have had an amazing time raising him! About: Always have had and loved dogs. I’m not much of a trainer, but will certainly shower your dog with love and LOTS of attention! Love taking walks and hiking too. As a nurse, I have all weekends and two various weekdays of each week off. So I’m available four days per week and would plan to spend the whole day with your furry friends (other than say quick trips to the supermarket, etc). I live alone in a two bedroom condo. One was a German Shepherd mix who lived a full, happy life to the age of 12, and the other is a mixed-breed terrier who is still thriving with me at nearly 9 years old. Growing up I had cats and reptiles and am comfortable with taking care of all four legged or no legged animals ! I am the go to person for pet advice and always pet sit for my friends and family. With ample notice I can accommodate your busy schedule. My apartment is pet proof, child free, and I have linoleum floors and a couple of rugs. I own a carpet shampooer and a steam cleaner so nothing phases me and I keep everything sanitary. Fur babies are allowed everywhere and I mainly clean with green and safe products. About: Hi, I'm Keith, a 34-year-old Cornell graduate that grew up in a family of animal lovers! My Dad worked in the animal health industry his whole life and he instilled in us the love of taking care of dogs and all animals since I was a little boy growing up on our farm. My first dog was an older border collie named Amy I got as a five-year-old and I've been raising them ever since. The dog that shines brightest in my memory is Snowy, our family dog from when I was 11-23 years old (the white lab/retriever looking mix in the pics). We used to race hundreds of miles up and down our half-mile long driveway in Upstate NY as Snowy could run 30-32mph in his prime! We truly grew up together and after university, Snowy and I moved across the country to the mountains of Colorado where he enjoyed his namesake fully until he passed away several years ago. The joy that he brought to my family, friends, strangers and patients while volunteering in the hospital is something I'll never forget. I'm passionate about helping ease the difficulties of pet ownership for others so that they too can hopefully have the bond that Snowy and I will always have. In the last 10+ years, I've traveled long term through 80ish countries and thus have decided to wait until I lead a more consistent lifestyle to bring a new puppy into my life. However, I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to house and pet sit for a number of friends and strangers around the world. I have plenty of time throughout the day to walk, play, etc with your dog. Just let me know what their activity level is, off leash guidelines, and any other quirks. My yard is on the Gore creek, not fenced in. My dog and other visiting dogs always play down by the creek. If your dog is not good off leash or you don’t want them near the creek, I will keep them on leash at all times.
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and honestly can’t remember a time when there wasn’t a pup in the house. I grew up in a family that always had multiple dogs at once — labs, cocker spaniels, dachshunds, golden retrievers, goldendoodles — plus all the neighborhood dogs that seemed to end up at our place for playdates or pet sitting. Caring for different breeds and personalities has always just been part of my daily life, not something I had to learn later. Since moving out on my own, my roommates have almost always had dogs, and I naturally end up sharing responsibilities — walks, feeding, playtime, and making sure they feel loved and included. I’m a big “dog person” in every sense: I connect with dogs quickly, read their body language well, and make a real effort to help them feel safe, calm, and happy while their people are away. Whether your dog is high-energy and playful or more of a couch snuggler, I’ll treat them like my own and keep you updated so you can relax while you’re gone. I currently work fully remote and have about a 20 to 30 hour per week workload, which leaves me with plenty of extra time each and every day! I’m a very active person and tend to fill my downtime with walking hiking cross country skiing or downhill skiing whenever I can and my flexible schedule certainly helps that. I’ll be more than happy to do just about anything that you request to make your dog happy and comfortable. Let’s just talk about it first!
