“Emma did a great job looking after our cat Oaty while we have been on holiday. She sent photos and videos which we loved especially our three children who were missing him. Emma communicated with us as much as needed for updates and we would definitely recommend her for looking after your pets. Thank you”

“Taylor is an amazing pet sitter and we couldn’t be happier with the care she gives our Frenchies, Remi and Buster. She is very friendly, caring, and pays so much attention to our babies. She spends time playing with them, keeps them happy, and she is always there for them. You can really see that Taylor is a true animal lover. When we come home, Remi and Buster are calm, relaxed, happy ,and clearly feel comfortable and loved. We really appreciate everything she does and we feel very lucky to have someone like her looking after them. Thank you so much, Taylor ! 🐾 🐾”

About: I have worked in the veterinary profession since the early 90's and have experience of large and small animals. I have trained veterinary nurses, run puppy classes, taught basic dog training, qualified in common dog and cat behaviour problems, provided pet behaviour counselling and owned 3 dogs and multiple cats over the years. I would say that cats are my speciality as I worked at Cambridge Cat Clinic for 3 years and perfected my feline nursing skills. I am able to administer oral medications to all species and also injections if required, such as insulin. I am currently completing my training to become a counsellor (for humans) so I will be able to care for your pets around my studies and seeing my human clients. This allows me to be very flexible with regards to length of time needed to be with your pets. I will follow whatever routine has been established for your pets with regards to feeding, exercise, cuddles, grooming and any medication needed. I will have absolute respect for your wishes regarding where you want you pets to go i.e. indoors only, garden, park etc. I can provide regular updates about your pets while you are away to put your mind at rest.

About: • I'm an experienced live-in dog and house sitter who offers calm, consistent care, particularly for nervous, sensitive or rescue dogs who need patience and reassurance while their owners are away. • I've gained my experience through many successful house and pet sits, both independently and through TrustedHousesitters (where owners have consistently left excellent reviews). • Some dogs make friends straight away. Others need a little more time. I enjoy getting to know each dog as an individual and helping them feel safe, comfortable and settled while you're away. • I work online (part-time), so I can fit around your dog's routine and spend much of the day at home. This is ideal for dogs who are used to having company or who need a little longer to settle. • I love being outdoors and usually walk twice a day myself. Whether your dog enjoys long adventures or prefers a gentle sniff around the neighbourhood, I'm happy to adapt to whatever suits them best. • I always stick as closely as possible to your dog's normal routine, whether that's favourite walking routes, regular mealtimes or simply having a cuddle on the sofa. • I'm based in Colchester and regularly travel throughout London and the South East, with availability across the UK for longer bookings. • I've completed Canine First Aid training and I'm continuing to learn more about canine behaviour and body language because I genuinely enjoy understanding what makes each dog tick. • One of the reasons I started house and pet sitting is that my own rescue dog had such a lasting impact on me. She taught me the value of patience and consistency. After she died, I wasn't ready for another dog of my own, and looking after other people's dogs became a way to stay connected to the animals I love. • I know it's hard leaving your dog with someone new. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout your trip, and I'll always ask how often you'd like to hear from me. * I work online, so I can fit around your dog's routine and spend much of the day at home with them. * Morning walks, longer afternoon adventures or evening strolls, I can easily adapt to whatever routine your dog is used to. * I try to keep life as familiar as possible while you're away, so I do my best to follow your dog's usual routine for walks, meals, playtime and downtime. * I offer live-in dog and house sitting for overnight stays, weekends, holidays and longer bookings throughout the year. * Before a sit, I like to arrange a quick video call so we can chat through your dog's routine and make sure you feel completely comfortable before you head away. * Before each sit, I take the time to understand your dog's usual routine, from walks and mealtimes to favourite sleeping spots and the little things that help them feel settled. * I work online part-time, so I'm able to spend much of the day at home, providing companionship and helping your dog settle into their usual routine. * I'll keep you updated with regular photos and messages while you're away. I'll also ask how often you'd like to hear from me, so you can choose the level of contact that feels right for you. * I genuinely enjoy looking after people's homes and take pride in treating every property with the same care and respect I would my own. I see myself as a temporary guardian of your home as well as your dog, and I always leave everything exactly as I found it.
“Wow! Susan was brilliant with Thomas. Went away for a week and Susan kept me up to date with photos, texts. Thomas was happy and well looked after. Susan left the house tidy and as I left it. Throughly reccomend and will ask Susan to homesit Thomas again.”

“Rhian did an incredible job housesitting over the Christmas period, she kept in communication, sent us lots of photos of our cat being well settled and happy. It was the calmest we’ve ever seen the cat after we’ve been away for a period - I would absolutely recommend Rhian to others! Thank you so much for all your help!”

About: I'm retired and can give your pet virtually 24hr care. I'm an avid walker and will take your pet on lovely woodland walks and visits to country estates, beach etc. I have owned my own dogs for the past 30 years but am currently without one, hosting dogs allows me to enjoy, fuss and soil even more. I am at home most of the day except when I'm at the gym in the morning, my daily routine is flexible so I always have time for walks and I'm often in the garden or doing chores around the house, under the watchful eyes of your pet! I have a fully walled garden and lots of green walks straight out my front door. Pets are welcome on furniture and beds if that's what their used to at home. I try to follow their home routine as far as I can. I use a local secure dog park with a pool if required for the additional cost of the session.

About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover and understand just how important pets are as part of the family. Growing up, I had six cats and a Golden Labrador, and I now have a lovely Cocker Spaniel of my own, so I’m experienced with both cats and dogs and comfortable caring for pets of different ages and personalities. In my free time I enjoy taking my Cocker Spaniel on long walks, spending time in the garden, and being outdoors. I work as a Cardiac Physiologist at West Suffolk Hospital. My working schedule is M-T 8:00-18:00 and Th-F 8:00-18:00. This means I’m free all day Wednesday/Weekends for your pets needs, as well as mornings and evenings on my working days. 🙂 If you’re looking for a reliable, caring, and experienced pet lover to look after your furry family members, I’d be delighted to help whenever I’m available. Please feel free to send me a message — I’d love to hear from you! 🙂 I work as a Cardiac Physiologist at West Suffolk Hospital. My working schedule is M-T 8:00-18:00 and Th-F 8:00-18:00. This means I’m free all day Wednesday/Weekends for your pets needs, as well as mornings and evenings on my working days. 🙂 I know how important it is to have someone reliable looking after your pets, and I’ll treat your cat with the same care and attention I’d give my own. About: I’ve grown up around animals and have been caring for pets since I was around 10 years old. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, as well as pets of different ages, personalities and routines. I know how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person looking after your pets, so I always take the time to understand their normal routine, likes, dislikes and any individual needs. I work from home, which gives me lots of flexibility and means I can spend plenty of time with the animals in my care rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I’m happy to follow feeding and walking routines, provide lots of playtime and attention, and of course give plenty of cuddles to pets who want them! My aim is for your pet to feel safe, settled and loved while you’re away and for you to be able to relax knowing they’re in good hands. I work from home which gives me much larger availability to care for my own animals and to give me time to care for others. I live at home with my mum so thankfully we also have someone in for my dogs/cats and I am able to do the same for someone else. I work full-time from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day. I can easily work pet care around my schedule, including regular feeding, toilet breaks, walks, playtime and lots of company. This also means pets in my care won’t be left alone for long periods. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I’ll follow their usual routine and any instructions you provide, including feeding, medication, walks and household rules. I make sure their environment is secure and pay close attention to their behaviour so I can spot if anything seems unusual. I also treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own.
“Danielle was absolutely amazing looking after our Frenchie, Buster, while we had to rush our other Frenchie,Remi to the emergency hospital. It was a very stressful time for us, but knowing Buster was in such caring hands gave us real peace of mind. She was incredibly friendly, kind, and patient, making sure Buster felt calm, comfortable, and relaxed throughout her stay. It was clear she genuinely cared about him and treated him like one of her own. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter during such a difficult situation. Many thanks Danielle 🐾 🐾”

“Martin is fantastic! I have two disabled dogs and he listened to instructions carefully, and enacted their needs. He’s kind and gentle and my dogs took to him immediately. Will definitely book him again. Thank you!”

About: Growing up in a house full of rescue cats and dogs ignited my passion for animal welfare, which goes above and beyond in both my professional and personal life. I understand how daunting it can be leaving your furry one in someone else’s hands and I ensure the best quality care catering to any specific needs, and guaranteed photos of your pet so rest assured you know they’re having fun. I’m able to be flexible working with your house sitting and home boarding needs. At home, I live with a friendly dog called Momo and my mum, so your pet would have to be okay with other dogs, otherwise I’m happy to house sit! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions 🤗 Having previously worked at a veterinary practice, I understand how to meet your pet where they’re at - whether that’s with cuddles and playtime from the get-go or a calm gentle approach to soothe nerves. I'm experienced in walking dogs of all sizes, chihuahuas to great danes, and can promise walking routes and lengths dependant on your dog's requirements. To ensure your mind is at ease, I keep in full contact with photos of your loved ones throughout time away from them.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - St. Edmundsbury
Just returned off our holiday and definately would use Taylor again . It was the first time leaving my dogs with someone and they are a hyper pair to walk . Taylor made me feel very reassured by sending photos and updates of them . They settled with her straight away
Emma did a great job looking after our cat Oaty while we have been on holiday. She sent photos and videos which we loved especially our three children who were missing him. Emma communicated with us as much as needed for updates and we would definitely recommend her for looking after your pets. Thank you

Caitlin and her partner are reliable and treat our pups like family. Recently they house sat for us for 4 nights caring for our 2 Frenchies and 2 cats and kept us well informed with lots of pictures. The house looked perfect on our return and all pets very happy. Highly recommend their services!

This was our first experience of using Rover. Tom and Haya were great house sitters for our three daxis. As with all daxis ours are barky and needy but Haya and Tom made them feel calm and cared for. Regular updates from Haya reassured us that all was well back home, plus it was good to know someone was keeping an eye on the house. All in all a really good experience that enabled us to enjoy our holiday and relax.
Tessa was an amazing! She stayed at our house and kept the dogs while we went on vacation. She sent pictures of the dogs everyday. It was so nice to be on vacation and not have to worry about the dogs. They were in great hands. We can’t speak more highly of Tessa.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Edmundsbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
